Green River Barbeque

This place is truly amazing. I decided to stop through coming back from Harrahs. It was definitely worth the stop. I ordered the cowabunga Tacos and Asian Sweet Chili wings. Whoever concocted those tacos are brilliant. The wings, were A1. I will be visiting again.

It was mine and my husband's birthday's. We had a party of 11 and it was awesome! Everyone liked their food and the service was good! Ty for a great experience. Fried green tomatoes were tasty and so was the tomato pie. Everything I had was good. Brunswick stew, Mac and chz and brisket and hush puppies!

We really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio of this beautiful little mountain town BBQ joint. The air was so crispy and fresh for it to be summer time it was nice. The lady's in there were super friendly they let us keep our doggy with us on the patio and she sat at the table with us and got her own little plate of barbecue. The ladies loved petting hour little Darla the dog! The food came out quickly and I have to say it was pretty good. This was a nice conservative area where they weren't forcing people to wear masks!

This place is AMAZING!! Great Ribs, Great Brisket, and probably some of the Best Mac and cheese I've EVER had!!!

Stopped here after Green River Tubing. It hit the spot! I got their special barbecue sandwich with both pulled pork and beef brisket, and it did not disappoint! They had a great selection of beer and the outdoor area is dog friendly! Will definitely be back anytime I’m up this way!

The perfect ending to a great day. It was wonderful to sit outside, relax and enjoy dinner. Their menu had good selection of options to choose from, helpfully labeled when gluten free. The server was great about finding out answers to food sensitivity questions. The staff was working hard but could have benefited with more help. The food was excellent and we ate every bit...non left to take home today! Oh...nice surprise was how tasty the side of beans were and the mustard BBQ sauce. 😋

WOW. Talk about the best BBQ beans I have every had! Wife and I stopped in there for dinner in Oct 2022 and has an amazing meal. The wings sauce was a blend of greatness and the ribs were cooked prefect in my opinion. I should drop it to 4 stars because the wait staff seemed some what annoyed, stoned/high, by having to do anything that required them to not look at there phones ever free moment. I guess it just par for this generation. But because the BBQ was so good I'm not going to let their work ethic hurt this review. It's a must visit and we will return. Also get the corn nugget side!

Talk about yummy!!!! Fried pickles/jalapeños were the perfect starter! BBQ plate and the Carolina Texan are HIGHLY recommended!! Great portions and price!! Amazing staff!!

At first me and my wife waited for around 20 minutes to be seated. The waitress that was there which she was older, ignored us and seated people who who showed up after 15 minutes of us waiting and they were immediately seated. Seemed like she knew who they were so I am guessing locals. (Just a guess since it seemed like she knew who they were) Eventually a new waitress showed up and had us seated.

Now after being seated our service was wonderful and our waitress was attentive when needed. We ordered. Fried pickles and Jalapeños, fried tomatoes, smoked turkey plate w/ Mac and cheese/baked potato salad and Smoked Beef Brisket Plate w/ Mac and cheese/collard greens.

Jalapeños 10/10 perfect love them.

Pickles 10/10 perfect loved them.

Fried Tomatoes 4/10 raw batter, no flavor. Nice cuts of tomato tho. Side note the Chow chow that came with these was 10/10 Delicous would love to throw that on some 🌭 🌭 🌭

Smoked Turkey 9/10 was expecting dried out turkey and was very pleased to find it was not dried out at all. Just wish it had been a bit warmer when served.

Smoked Brisket 9/10 perfect again just wish it was a bit warmer when served.

Mac and Cheese 2/10 no taste no flavor? No cheese where was the cheese????

Baked potato salad 9/10 really good!

Collard greens 7/10 these were ok.

Now for their sauces.

Mild BBQ sauce 10/10 😋 👌 🙌

Spicy BBQ Sauce 15/10 Was eating that on everything. Which intensified everything. I was Impressed!!!!

Mustard was 6/10 Was ok.

Gave it a 5 star because I believe the issues may just be an off day that can be easily corrected if management address' it.

Hope to be back when I travel through there another day.

Great food, though slightly smaller serving sizes than most bbq places. Still plenty of food for a meal. Lots of TVs and a solid variety to the menu

Deanna was amazing. She graciously served our party of 15, despite the rambunctious nature of my friends, celebrating a birthday. The food was absolutely delicious! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food they ordered. It was cooked to perfection and delicious. The serving sizes were on point. We ordered fried Pickles and jalapeños, sausage dip with chips, ribs, collards, corn nuggets, slaw, baked beans, and pulled pork. 😋 The baked beans were like no other I've ever had. They were like a chilli dish instead of just baked beans.

Amazing macaroni and pulled pork with such a smoky savory flavor. No extra sauce was needed. Great turnip greens. The best strawberry cake layered with strawberry jam, white cake- WOWZA! VERY relaxing atmosphere. Out of the park cobbler!

I got lost and saw a sign for Green River Barbeque. I was hungry so I said, why not try something new? I went through the downtown area which is a picturesque little area that any town would be proud to call their main street. I ordered my food and chatted to a local while waiting for my order. I got back in the car and opened up one of my 2 to go boxes. My mouth watered and I popped in a curly fry, they call them pig tails or something. It was fabulous. I tried a bite of my pulled bbq, it was amazing. I then tried a hushpuppy. I wept tears of joy...well not really but almost. I have never had such an exquisite hushpuppy in all my life. They gave me so much food that I ate off of it 3 times, so if you actually go and sit down and eat it should be easy for 2 people to share 1 plate. I know I'll probably be back up there before the end of this week for more hushpuppies and pulled pork bbq. This place is a little bit of heaven on earth.

A great place to have some bbq. The food was great their sauce is Amazing! The drinks are good too. The only issue I had with them is that they took foreeeever to get our food and drinks our but honestly this place is worth the wait and tastes amazing!

This place is such a treat!! Got a plate that fed two people for $11!! The food was super yummy! I couldn’t help myself and got some apple pie too!! 10/10

Edit: I will always hold this place in a special compartment of my heart. The loss of the mixed berry cobbler has hurt my soul and I will mourn it now that the bbq is open again. I’d drive an hour sometimes just to get this berry cobbler and it genuinely was the best dessert on the east coast. So warm and tasty always bringing me back for one last bite when I thought I couldn’t fit anything else in my stomach. Even though my cheeks are wet with tears I will remember that delicious cobbler fondly. Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

The pulled pork and brisket are so smoky good that it doesn't need sauce, but then their sauces are so delicious that we had to try it with these, too. They must use good tomatoes in their tomato pie, as I ate every morsel of it. Others in my group got the key lime pie from their home-made dessert list and raved about it, but I know they were envious of my Kentucky Derby pie with ice cream. Never have I had a more flaky pie crust. It truly is heavenly. The service is excellent--they not only are attentive but very personable as if you were their house guests. All of us loved the mountainous atmosphere with the beautiful cedar. We found this great place to eat while taking a more scenic route home from the mountains, and Green River BBQ made us decide to do this always so that we can eat there. It's a must, and the historic town of Saluda will be on our stop-to-shop when we return.

Love this gem. On the ball service. High quality, authentic food at a fair price. Ask for both pepper sauces for you fried okra. The brisket and pulled pork were tender, moist, and perfectly kissed with smoke. Kid menu kept the babies interested, oh, and there is corn hole! Local beer selection food not disappoint.

We decided to stop in while riding the motorcycle through Saluda. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The food and the side dishes were excellent! The whole atmosphere here is so relaxing. We will definitely be back!
