Fantastic. Most reasonable prices for breakfast locally; very large portions, great service. Gets pretty busy on the weekend so you can expect a wait for a table, but so worth it. Not ideal for a large group as it's a pretty small place... Mostly tables for 2 or small booths for Max 4, as well as a small breakfast bar.

This is a great little place located right on the market. They even have outdoor seating for dining. The service is always fantastic. The only thing better is the food. The sausage gravy is everything you want your sausage gravy to be. The biscuits are from scratch. I could go on and on. Definitely a step above most other places in and around the market.

It was about 11 or 1130 and we were able to sit immediately. Service was prompt, efficient and nice. She had patience with me changing my drink and food order. 😆 Fresh sausage gravy was awesome!! My husband really enjoyed the cooked apples. They were most definitely not canned. This was a really good experience.

Exceptional service and outstanding prices! The food was seasoned perfectly, ingredients were fresh, food was made with love and generous portions- my visit was perfect!!! Staff was attentive and friendly! I highly recommend to visit. I’m coming back soon when I am around. Go Hokies!

Lived in Roanoke my whole life and never tried this out. Food was great and the service was very respectful and kind. Loved the quirky menu. Refills came when needed and food was delivered to table fast. I commend the waitress on not rushing us to eat because we stopped in close to closing time (on accident). Also, loved that I saw all of the employees helping to clean up and close down. It's great when coworkers and managers can work together. Will eat there again.

Great, simple, quick American breakfast. Reasonably priced unlike all the other breakfast spots near by!

This is a go to place for breakfast. Even though they have a sign to be patient as everything is made on site the food comes out soooo fast.

Service is great. Food is always quite tasty. And during the week the owner loves to talk with the patrons and play a joke or two.

And it is inexpensive!

Great little diner nestled in the corner of Market Square. Food is cheap, quick, and great. Servers are always super nice too.

We were waited on by a sweet blonde lady, very courteous. Love her,she had us laughing! We also were met by the owner, very nice and down to earth. The cook prepared my burger just the way I like it! There was another waitress, although she did not wait on us, she was very nice. The manager does a great job, and it is shown by his employees.

Found Ernie's while we were exploring the City Market area. Prices were unbeatable! The Cooks Special (a Club Sandwich on a Kaiser roll) and the Downtown Burger were both exceptional! All Staff members were very friendly and accommodating. If visiting from out of town this is a must for lite fare and great value.

Came here before our flight back to Chicago and Wow…great hole in the wall. Not the prettiest but man can they make an amazing tasting breakfast. I recommend anything on the menu.

An eclectic small eatery in the heart of downtown Roanoke. They serve breakfast and lunch at great prices and have outdoor seating in the warmer months. Good service too!

Cool little restaurant tucked into the corner of the historic market Square. Feels like a bar, however is an excellent little breakfast spot with homemade food and fantastic coffee. Anybody that displays a leg lamp automatically gets five stars.

Amazing! The Roanoke Times has the THICCEST slice of bologna on it and is fried to perfection. Awesome biscuits! The potato cake caught me off guard, but was a great as everything else!

Eat with the locals. A cool local eatery in the center of the market. Service was great, food was comforting, and atmosphere welcoming. I will return.

Ordered the Downtowner and small home fries. I was served it within a few short minutes! The food was delicious, hot and fresh. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to go back and try another dish.
