Sweetbites Cafe and Bakery

Not a large space so don't plan on spending all day there, BUT the staff and folks are super friendly and helpful. Definitely get that local mom and pop vibe.

As for the food, I had a vanilla chai latte with almond milk, the lemon bar, the everything bagel, and the apple galette. The latte was solid. The lemon bar was SUPERB. The owner noted that it's not for everyone since it's not as sweet as other lemon bars. Let me tell you - this is the level of sweetness that it should be at. It was the perfect amount of sweet, tart, and a microdose of bitterness. Great combination and highly recommended for folks who enjoy a REAL lemon tasting lemon bar. The apple galette was tasty as well - the only thing I regret is not asking to have it toasted.

The bagel was probably one of the best in the area (although technically they're "imported" from Long Island). Despite going against the owner's instructions (she had my best interests in mind and I could see her wince when I mentioned that I was going to have it the next day), the bagel turned out great the next morning. I kept it in a sealed ziploc overnight so it didn't dry out too much and popped it into the air fryer/toaster in the AM for a light toast. All I did was add some cream cheese and my first bite brought memories of the tristate back all over again. One thing to note is that it's not crazy heavy on the 'Everything' which means that the flavors are there, but the salt is not. This is a good thing if you plan on using salted butter or plan on adding other things like lox - or if you're trying to cut down on salts :)

Overall, a fantastic experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quick bagel fix. I'll have to try their pastrami or their hot dog next time. The aromas of those while I was there made my mouth water.

This is my go-to spot for whenever I need cupcakes for an event! Sweetbites have made me cupcakes for numerous occasions (birthdays, baby/bridal showers & work gatherings) and they’ve always been a hit! It made my decision so easy to have them make my wedding cupcakes! We did 2 flavors, a “his and hers” - almond funfetti and chocolate salted caramel. People still ask me where they were from!

Lastly - whenever I go to the cafe, I always get a latte and a chocolate scone. They are to die for!

I love this sweet cafe! Their baked goods are stellar and made on site. They also have delicious sandwiches, quiche and a full espresso bar. Great for breakfast, lunch, or a snack break!

This place has it all! Breakfast, Lunch Sweets and ice cream, all specialty made!
Everything here is homemade and you can definitely tell a difference. Everything is so good!! It’s a great vibe and I love the outdoor seating.

Lovely quite caffe. Good coffee. Yummy baked giddies especially the biscotti was soft and crunchy. In the middle of office buildings. Hard to get parking. But the 15 min parking outside their front door is theirs. If you are lucky to get the spot you can make yourself comfy.

Everyone is so friendly. I'm vegan and was happy to find delicious vegan soup options and vegan baguettes. However, the pastries are not vegan. But, they are all homemade and look heavenly. They offer gluten-free as well.

What an adorable little nook in McLean! Beautiful and clean Cafe. Very welcoming employees. They had the best quiche I have ever had. Everything is made in house. You should definitely stop by for a visit

I live in another state. I ordered Birthday goodies for my daughter. They were delivered on time even though it snowed that morning! My daughter said they were delicios!

This brioche with pistachio cream and chocolate chips is one of the best sweets (and it’s not too sweet, really hits the nail on the head with balance). I was in the neighborhood and just wanted to stop somewhere for coffee so I def was not expecting to just happen across something this good. V happy.

Took a friend to an appointment and this place was close by. Absolutely awesome! Tried a mocha and a blueberry scone. Just yummy. You Virginia folks so lucky to have such an awesome bakery.

A small cafe bakery with some charm and some amazing breakfast burritos. The black beans they put into them mixed with salsa and sour cream...oh so good and the size is perfect for a small snack. Definitely check them out!

I love this neighborhood jewel! It is always enjoyable going into the warm, buttery bakery smell and seeing all the happy faces. Coffee is excellent, staff is friendly and attentive, and clientele seem more like extended family. This place enriches all the businesses and local residents and is a great destination to walk or bike. I can't wait for the warmer weather so I can sit outside or take my coffee to the very nice park across the street!

Ordered the Midnight chocolate cake for my mom's birthday party. Cake was a hit with the party guests. It was not too sweet, perfectly balanced and moist. The rich chocolate buttercream icing and layers were delicious. Highly recommend.

Can’t get enough of this place! I work in the same building and I go here every day. The coffee is delicious (and extra strong so it’ll last you all day) and the pastry chef makes new goodies each day so there is always something new and yummy to try. You can’t go wrong with any of their food but my all time favorites are the lemon bars and cheesy focaccia bread! Such a nice little spot to try if you’re looking for a great cafe to sit down and hang out or get some work done in. 5 stars for sure!

Everyone at Sweetbites is super friendly and helpful. I have been going there since they opened, and I have loved everything I have had. Cakes, pastries, sandwiches, salads, coffee ...... I had Sandra make 5 cakes for my wedding. Our guests are still talking about how tasty they were!

I had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and it was delicious. Dare I say too much bacon? I won't because no such thing, but it was a lot of bacon. The biscuit on its own was very delicious too

I absolutely love Sweetbites! The food is delicious, the treats are adorable and cozy, and the staff is so friendly. It’s my favorite go-to place when I want a pick-me-up. Definitely try it out, it is DELICIOUS!
