Beautiful lake, with a nice trail. The whole circle of the trail is about 5 miles

Entry to the park is only free for VA residents.

When I visited during Thanksgiving of 2023, restrooms were locked & I could not find the water fountain ( around the walking trail). So please consider taking water bottles with you.

I loved this park.

What an amazingly huge and lovely park!! My only complaint is that I came in through Googles suggestion and it took me to the golf course parking lot. We spent about an hour here and still only saw 1/4 of the lake. Came to see birds and was not disappointed. A huge variety of birds and life all around. Families with kids enjoying the playground and tons of good spots for disc golf.

Burke Lake Park has many walking trails and attractions! There is a golf course, a driving range, camp sites, picnic sites, walking trails, boat ramps, a merry-go-round, and so much more. I enjoy sitting on the benches scattered around the lake and looking out over the water! Sometimes you can find geese, ducks, and fish in their natural habitat!😁 The exercise trail is equipped with bars, a balance beam, and other equipment I use for calisthenics training (including handstands and L-sits)! This place holds a lot of hidden gems within it!

Great park with lots of things to do. Train rides and mini golf for the kids, plus several playgrounds and an ice cream parlor. The walk around the lake is 4 and 1/2 mi, and a great trail.

What a lovely place to visit! We went to see the Marina and the ice cream parlor area. Both are well maintained areas. Parking was a bit of a challenge at the Marina, we came at 9 am on Saturday. We will come again for the hiking/nature trail

One my favorite parks in NOVA; there are so many trailheads to start your hike around the lake, ample parking, and phenomenal views.

One of my favorite park in the area. I wish the boat rental place opens more often but the park is just great in that it offers almost everything you can think of.

Beautiful park with clean picnic areas, washrooms and ample parking. The 5mi round trip trail around the lake is picturesque and relaxing. The trail meanders along the lake shoreline and offers some of the best views of the lake from multiple angles.
We covered the full trail in little more than an hour and half.
Would revisit for picnic. Highly recommended.

It’s a gorgeous park. Out of state cars would be charged $12 per the sign but it was free when I went. I think for VA resident it’s free

Very dog friendly. The trail is not crowded but very well frequented which is great as I have had to pass on sparse trails out of safety :(

I followed Apple Maps to get back to my car after passing the shelters. I really wasn’t sure how to return. That was a big mistake as it directed me out the park and to follow the path along the road. I feel so silly following it Vs just asking someone

I do wish it were more signs in the park directing you to parking, shelters etc or even more maps saying you are here and showing where you need to go

We love burke lake. We camp here, fish, kayak, hike. This past year has been a little different. Some of the amenities we are used to have been in disrepair or are not being used/open. The train has been broken a couple of times and the campground store is no longer open. Bit burke lake is still a great way to escape the suburban life for a little bit.

I have fond memories of this lake from my childhood and have brought my children and grandchild here. I especially like the walking path around the lake.

I am a regular visitor of this local park especially on fall and spring Friday afternoons when the lake trail proves less crowded. Parking has not been problematic for me, although I could see where finding a spot could be challenging on fair weather days and/or event days for disc golf and the like. County residents enter free of charge.

The trail starts near the boat rental facility and winds around the lake nicely. The trail runs next to camping areas at one section and volleyball courts at another and a children’s play place and public restrooms at another. Park staff do a fair job maintaining the trail, although a combination of persistent wet conditions and bike use can make for some sporadic puddles in the aftermath. Elevation changes are infrequent as expected and gradual on the few occasions they happen. Wildlife tends to be minimally visible on the trail. Users are consistently courteous with bikers using audible announcements to warn walkers and joggers when passing.

I have not tried the miniature golf or boat rental offerings but suspect they are likely quite enjoyable. I am glad this park exists and will continue to patronize when I want to get a couple of laps of pleasant scenery without having to drive outside the county.

I’ve recently been to this park which was lot of fun with so many activities for people of different interests. There’s kayaking, canoeing, train ride which sounds fun, workouts on trail, fishing, frisbee golf and of course camping 😀
The best part is it’s free for people residing in Fairfax county.
There are many benches around the lake you’ll find during the trail, where you could relax for a bit.
We’ve did the 5 mi trail and it was fun.

Been coming here for more than 20 years and I love this place! The trail around the lake is excellent and is beautiful. They have plenty of areas for grilling. You can fish at various places or get on a boat if you want. They have a mini golf course and a train ride for kids.

Super awesome park. So many activities. There is a driving range and a mini golf course as well. The lake is beautiful. I'm definitely going back with my fishing rods. They have trails and frisbee games. There is so much to do. There are also camp sites. You can't have this experience in a single day. Go back multiple times. Take your family and friends. There is also a train for the kiddies. It's really popular!

Lovely area, wilth plenty of places to go. There is ~8km long trail, winding around the calm Burke lake. There are exercise stops along the way. It is a mixed use trail so expect people, dogs and bikes all over. Can get pretty crowned on a weekend, but the trail is wide enough to pass each other by. Plenty of benches and fishing spots available. Actively used and maintained camping grounds available and not too crowded. Entry is free for county reaidents and $10 per car if you come from outside the county. Parking was plentiful and easy to access.

One of the most popular and beloved parks in Fairfax. It’s a great place for boating, hiking, fishing, picnicking, camping, biking, riding classic mini train and carrousel, playing golf and enjoying ice cream🍦. Forever favorite for us 🤩
