Island Lake Mountain Bike Trailhead Parking

Nice pair of trails. The blue section is pretty flat and fast, while the yellow section has more flow to it. I enjoyed the yellow section better than the blue.

Yellow Trail is labeled intermediate; It's about 6 miles. Blue Trail is listed as beginning level and is approx 7 miles. Take it easy especially on the blue Trail as their are some sand pits that can really slow ya down and may hurt u if you don't know it's coming and/or you're new to the trail. Overall very fun though and you can get whatever type of workout you want on your MTB. BEGINNER TO ADVANCED depending on how you ride the trails. B+

Beautiful area with a large amount of trails weaving throughout the park. Great place to get away and enjoy the sounds of nature. From the paved paths to the Riverbend, Island Lake is full of adventure for all of the family.

One of my favorite trail systems in the area for mountain biking.

As far as parking lots go, this is definately one.
The trail is great, and notably more interesting than its parking lot.

Nice open lot, well pumps with good clear water, and two useful pit toilets, always well maintained and a good trailhead

Great parking lot, fantastic single track and impossibly gross toilet. This really sums up mountain biking in the Detroit area. Island Lake is a great trail and has a great flow. This trail is a "go-to" destination. Be wary of weekend warriors trying to do a speed run and ignoring the courtesy of bells or other audibles. All in all, this trail is a winner.

Great trails/parking lot. Toilets are so nasty they will probably be breeding ground for the next mega virus.

Good trail for a quick workout. Fast and not very technical.
