First time!! The food was amazing. I loved the 8 oz filet and the sweet potatoes fries and honey sauce!! Oh…and the pretzel app was the best I’ve ever had. Michelle our server was great and helping me as a newbie. She was so kind and helpful.

This is a great restaurant.

You need to order the Burgundy Mushrooms with your steak - you won’t be disappointed.

Ask to sit in Michelle’s section. She was an absolutely fabulous server. She had great suggestions - like the cheesecake to go and the clam chowder. Michelle is a foodie. She was wonderful.

The 8 oz filet was cooked to perfection.
Plus it has a full bar.

This is a must stop if you’re traveling along US 23 or on your way to U of M in Ann Arbor. It is a very comfortable restaurant.

Wife and I had a late lunch here today. Great staff from the start. We were greeted by the super friendly hostess and promptly sat to our table. Our waitress was super nice and very informative with the menu. Drinks arrived super fast as well as our salads. Lunch arrived shortly after we finished our salad. All I can say is the presentation was fantastic. The experiance started by grilling our steaks on the black rock. Our steaks were absolutely fantastic. We realy enjoyed the experiance and the food. We shall return in the near future. If you are in the area I do highly recommend stopping in for a great meal.!

We were staying nearby and came here for supper. I had checked out the menu beforehand and was intrigued by the Soup-3-Wayz so I ordered that with chili, French Onion, and lobster bisque. They were all good, although the French Onion was on the thick side. I also ordered the Crispy Chicken Salad, which was very good and plentiful. I had a leftover box for later. Ruby had the coconut shrimp and a tossed salad and enjoyed both. There must have been a half pound of green beans on her plate!
Lucas was our server and did a great job.

Amazing food! Amazing service! Michelle & Maddie are the best servers hands down. Christmas Eve dinner was extra special with our family. Thank you Black Rock!

Michelle was an excellent waitress. She changed out my stone when she didn’t think it was quite hot enough to cook the steak to perfection. She was right! With a new stone the steak was absolutely mouth watering! Michelle is a great Black Rock Ambassador! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My husband and I had the pleasure of Michelle being our server today. She not only was on top of her game as far as speed and service, however had such a bubbly and friendly personality! The salmon was amazing. Thank you Michelle for making our din in experience exceptional.

Nikki was our server and she was nothing short of amazing. It was a busy night we came in, our first time too. She was very patient and made me feel great about ordering steak I cook on my own. She was attentive and the space we were in was amazing. I can only hope every location is a great as this one.

When we walked in, the place smelled great and the atmosphere was very enticing. But when we sat down is when the real experience began. As we are all to aware, service in restaurants nowadays is nowhere to be found. I FOUND IT!! And his name is Bret!! Bret brings back what we all miss, someone who cares! Bret was not only friendly but he made suggestions on how to put together menu items to get the most out of our experience. We never had to ask for refills or wait for anything we needed, it was as if he could reads our minds! If you are ever in Heartland and you find yourself wanting a steak, go to Black Rock! And do yourself a favor...ASK FOR BRET!!

We went here for my girlfriend's birthday. Ordered the Tuesday deal, which was sirloin/lobster and two sides. The food was awesome!

We love coming here to eat and tonight we had an incredible server named Michelle who took such great care of us! The food was amazing as usual and the cocktails were phenomenal. Highly recommend!

I've been to a lot of Black Rock locations, but this one is by far the best. Not just because the food and atmosphere is so great, but also because the service is always phenomenal. Lindsey, in particular, is a gem! She is so personable and hard working, and she always goes above and beyond to make sure her guests have an amazing experience. I can't recommend this location, or Lindsey, highly enough! You will love this experience.

Michelle is my waitress was a stellar waitress does not get paid enough to do this job. Also, my grandpa is really good at cooking steaks and this is comparable to his steak cooking. I’d have to say I tried the best steak in the house and it was damn good.

We knew upon arrival that we had made the right choice dining at that establishment. We were on our way to another location, but I’m so glad I decided to give that Black Rock a try. The atmosphere was great and aside from the absolutely delicious food and specialty drinks, it was our service that stood out the most. Our server’s name was Bret, and believe me when I say he was nothing short of AMAZING! Very attentive, polite, and everything he suggested was top notch! Everything about him was extraordinary. I have traveled much of the world & dined in more restaurants than I can care to count, but the spectacular experience we had tonight was like a breath of fresh air. We were throughly impressed and will gladly say he would be an asset to any establishment. We even let the General Manager know this while we were there. I believe this is the Hartland MI location. We just drove from Greenville South Carolina for a special dinner here at Black Rock. We have been here several times when we lived in the area. We always get the sirloin (.whatever size suits your appetite) and salad and a soup. Lobster bisque is the best we have ever had. If you want fresh and hot from the first bite to the last give Black Rock a try. If you are really feeling adventurous the volcano for desert is a great shareable option. Black Rock rocks.

We were in Michigan for a family wedding and my husband and I decided to celebrate this wonderful occasion by taking all 13 members of our family out to dinner. The bride picked Black Rock and all I could think was that we would have one heck of a wait on a Saturday night. I called ahead and when we got to the restaurant 30.minutes later, a table was prepared and waiting for us. Our server was fabulous and never missed a beat. Everyone loved their food and there wasn't a single complaint. The star of the meal was the pretzel appetizers we ordered for the table. It was a great evening

We went out to dinner for my best friend's 18th birthday, and Michelle was the best waitress! I've been to this location several times, but Michelle was wonderful. For example, a member of our party wasn't fond of the chili, but Michelle offered to grab him a different soup right away. She was very attentive and personable!!

During my recent visit to Black Rock Bar & Grill, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and fantastic food. The bartender, Brent, provided outstanding service, going above and beyond to accommodate my allergies, which greatly enhanced my dining experience. The Rock Chicken sandwich and fries were nothing short of fantastic, and my coworker's choice of the sirloin stir fry was equally impressive. Both dishes were flavorful and well-prepared. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quick and accurate service, a testament to the efficiency and professionalism of the staff. Additionally, the ambiance of the bar added to the overall great experience. It's clear that Black Rock Bar & Grill excels in both its culinary offerings and customer service, making it a must-visit destination. A solid 5-star experience!

This was my first time here and it was Fantastic!! Our waitress was excellent at taking her time to explain the menu and the best cooking process. In minutes I was an expert, and there was no rush to hurry up and eat my steak hot because each piece was cooked right on the stone. The green beans were also excellent. This is truly a dining experience you have to try.

We went the other night for date night. We had Southwest Egg Rolls for our appetizer, which were delicious! My husband had a burger, and I got the Shrimp Stirfry, which is my favorite. I even had leftovers for a delicious lunch the next day.
Our server was Taylor. She was the absolute best. Very attentive, helpful, and super nice. Probably the best server we’ve had and we go out to eat pretty often.
