Guitar Center

Normally when you shop at a guitar center its the usual atmosphere you see all the guitars on the wall… and think hmmm which one and an employee is usually right there to assist you then you pay and go home… thats where this place differs these guys will go out of their way to make you happy and ensure that everything went exactly as you expected 😃 i know this because i have now experienced it theres something about a “Guitar store!” That sets it aside from a music store and these guys get it great service great price very willing to work with me on my order sorry it took two days!! 😅 in the end im floored with the quality service Evette and Braden (i hope im spelling names correctly) has provided to me i cannot wait to get that beautiful anniversary schecter! thank you again!

Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. In store lessons are taught by skill musicians.

I've been in three times this month and am so pleased with the great service, knowledge, and friendliness at this Portmouth location!! I picked up at a great price a Taylor acoustic, a 7 string Schecter, and today a small Fender mustang Amp. The tech tweaked the schecter for me on the spot and had a great conversation. Love that guitar! And today a gentleman showed me a better Amp than I was going to buy and wow I love that too. He also was very kind as I forgot to activate my gear card but he got that sorted out for me quickly. Lol my bad! Also the manager was so friendly checking on everyone if they needed help. What a great location! Thank you all so very much!

literally the best experience in a music store i have ever had! Great selection of everything you need (and even things you didn't think or know that you did). John is an absolutely amazing person and was the biggest help, above and beyond what I expected! Made time to answer even the silliest of questions for me and my friend! 10/10 recommend going here!!

Lots of great products and the staff was quick to acknowledge each customer even with the Black Friday crowd. My online order was picked quickly and ready for pickup withing a few how's after opening.

Bought my husband a new guitar for his birthday here, and was able to pick it up on his birthday!!

I've been to many Guitar Centers around the country, but go to this one often as I live in the area. Hands down, Jon is the most helpful, friendly employee I've ever seen at a GC. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, he is very attentive and makes you feel welcome. He doesn't pressure you for help, but he seems to know the second that you need help, as he's right there to offer it. Nice to see someone take pride in their job...it's a rare thing these days!

Purchased a used Marshall amp online. It was described as in "great" condition, an arguably subjective adjective that can mean different things to different people. It proved to not be in great condition. It is DEAD MINT. Looks brand new and functions perfectly. Packed well and shipped promptly with tracking (which I confess to having checked a little too frequently as it made its way to me). Great shopping experience!

Great store! Love walking in and seeing a wall of guitars, loads of beautiful amps, effects, and other accessories for musicians (not just guitarists). The employees are so friendly and helpful and make you feel like they genuinely want to help. They'll spend time explaining things for you and answering questions. Love the place so much, I even applied last week :)

Well I have been shopping at Guitar Center for quite a while now. The Boston Store oh, the Natick store, Danvers, Nashua, Manchester and Portsmouth over the past few decades. I find what I am looking for 90% of the time. Also 90% of the time the staff are very helpful, respectful and friendly. There's always that 10%, but that's about to happen in any business of that size. I did end up having to go to a couple of different stores to get all the things that I needed as they weren't all in stock at one place or the other. But in most cases where the things aren't needed immediately, they can all just be ordered online regardless of what store or state they are in for that matter. Always clean well-lit and a good selection.

Small Shop, good service!

This location has stepped up this am opened on time gave really good service. The only complaint I have is closing before posted time. I understand not having enough staff so it makes sense.

Just wanted to chime in to say what a fabulous job Jay and the gang are doing in Portsmouth! They give everyone the "red carpet" treatment. Makes a BIG difference in how I feel about shopping at GC, and coming into the store...Thanks guys:)

Everytime I visit Guitar Center I find a helpful staff. I have shopped all around the USA. I brought back a lifetime warranty instrument cable for replacement and it was replaced no questions asked. I bought 4 other items while I was there. Great customer service!

Bought a fender blues junior iv here for a great price and good trade on my old equipment. Great service made the whole experience easy.

I wanted to share my gratitude for a great job done at the guitar center in Portsmouth. I called to see what it might cost to fix and re wire my Stratocaster. I wasn’t sure what needed to be done and talked with Grady , a repair guy. He gave me a rough idea on the phone going from a minimum to maximum price . Sounded great so when I got there Grady took it apart and fixed what needed to be done right then . We then talked a bit and he suggested some things that would greatly improve my guitar . I ended up going with his suggestions, better pick up set up and some new volume and tone controls . I thought it was going to be real expensive but it was not at all for what I got . Grady installed everything and called me a day later to tell me it was ready . I picked the guitar up and played it all weekend testing the different sounds . It was awesome. Gradys suggestions and workmanship on my guitar gave me a instrument that sounds great and plays so nice . Ty
