Let me tell you EVERYTHING was perfect! Our server Morgan made a killer cocktail and had a refreshing personality. Every single bite from appetizers - mains was absolutely superb! The scallops were cooked a perfect medium rare absolutely melt in your mouth, hands down the best I’ve ever had at an establishment. I left very full and very very happy! Absolutely cannot wait to return and am recommending to everyone.

We had a great time at Stalk for our anniversary dinner! The ambience is beautiful and romantic. The service was top tier and seamless, Sarah was very helpful guiding me through the menu for gluten free options. Great cocktails. The food is absolutely exquisite! Each dish exceeded our expectations right down to dessert. The owner chef Nicole is a true artist when it comes to crafting a delicious meal! We will definitely be back!

Very positive dinner, located in downtown Dover by City Hall. They’ve done a great job making a small place feel open and comfortable. Nice decor, well orchestrated service and tasty food. They partner with 10+ local farms to source their food. This is a solid recommendation for a decent culinary & social experience.

My husband & I enjoyed a fabulous Valentine’s Day dinner at Stalk. Our server Sara was knowledgeable & friendly & guided us with our menu selections. The special cocktail, “Violets are blue” was to die for! The bartenders certainly know what they’re doing! Our starters (brussel sprouts & beet salad), mains (haddock & pork) and dessert (house made lemon ice cream with honey) were all delicious!! This was our first time dining at Stalk & we will definitely return!!

Exceptionally delicious & creative fare! We asked our server what menu items weren’t to be missed…to which she said “sorry to be unhelpful but everything is good”. And she was right.

The Green With Envy cocktail is one of the best I’ve ever had - creamy & indulgent, super unique.

Starters: tuna tartare & focaccia were outstanding. Could’ve ordered seconds of each.

Mains: pork chop & halibut were both perfectly cooked, freshly prepared, and excellent.

Dessert: the lemon panna cotta is exceptional. Light & full of unique tastes & textures. No matter how full you are after dinner, highly recommend experiencing it.

Overall great experience, we’ll be back.
Also there’s a fun arcade bar next door to grab a drink and play some skee ball while you wait for your table to be ready. 10/10.

This is hands down our favorite restaurant in Dover! The food, the drinks, the atmosphere - all of it is just absolutely perfect. Every time we come, there’s a new menu filled with seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients, and we have always left fully satisfied.

You know how everyone has that one restaurant they always return to time and again? Well, after spending quite a bit of time dining our way around the seacoast, my wife and I returned to our spot Friday night. For us that spot is Stalk in Dover, NH.

On this visit we sat at the bar. We ordered drinks and began looking over the menu. My wife ordered the Spring Fling. This drink is made with vodka or gin(she chose vodka), lavender and Proseco. I asked to be surprised with a bourbon cocktail and was given a Paper Planes. This drink consists of bourbon, Amaro, Aperol and lemon juice(picture 1). This was a great drink that had some zip to it. Every time I do this, they always come through with something creative and satisfying.

For our appetizer, we decided to share their Stalk Caesar(picture2). This is made with a parmesan mousse, tarragon lavender dressing, and topped with shredded parmesan. It was also served with toasted brioche. It was a really nice departure from your run of the mill Caesar Salad. Very flavorful and not a bit of that "heavy dressing" taste.

For her main course, my wife ordered the Hand Rolled Fettuccini. This dish was made with smoked corn cream, fresh basil, sundried tomato, and arugula. It was topped with sunflower seeds and parmesan. This was a very simplistic dish full of surprises that delighted the senses. The smoked corn and cream was a true show stopper. It added so much depth to the dish. The basil and sundried tomato was able to break through, adding their own footprint to the dish, rounding out its flavors. If the Fettuccini wasn't hand-made, it wouldn't have had the same impact. Believe me, great dishes are in the details.

For my main course, I ordered the New England Baked Cod(picture 3). My dish was made with charred cauliflower, sugar snap peas, farm kale, chive sage butter and almond romesco atop toasted orzo. The Cod was topped with a light house crumb. Once I placed my order, I asked to be paired with a great white wine. Instead, I was given 2 glasses with a taste of 2 different whites. The bartender, who doubled as our waitress, delivered my wine once I settled in with my choice. This dish was light as you would expect a fresh white fish to be. In the picture, you will notice the bowl rimmed with a red paste. This was a delightful surprise that added an unexpected complexity to the dish. If you took some on to your fork and then added the Cod, it complimented the fish beautifully. There was a zing to this paste and the flavor was undeniably beautiful. The orzo added another depth to the dish with its own flavor palette. This meal was so satisfying at every level.

For dessert, we decided on splitting the Bourbon Baba(picture 4). This dessert was made with brioche, grilled peach and lemon curd, accompanied by 2 black tea seed cookie wedges. All I can say is WOW!!! This was a great way to add to an already unbelievable meal.

When we go to Stalk, the entire staff makes you feel welcome and participates in your dining experience. Everyone is engaging with you to help deliver the most satisfying and memorable experience. It's no wonder that when we do return, we always feel like we're coming home.

Absolutely phenomenal dinner. From accommodating our special requests prior to arrival, to the delightful atmosphere and staff, and the freshly made and rich food/drink, Stalk is easily one of the best dinner spots in Dover / Portsmouth area. The steak, tuna, pork chops, grilled oysters, and other dishes came out exactly as ordered and described; the street corn (a special on the menu) was also some of the best we’d ever had. Can’t wait to go back — thank you all for the wonderful experience.

We popped in because we’d be dying to try Stalk and it did not disappoint! We had the PEI mussels, which were amazing in themselves, and the pork belly morsels in the mussels took it to the next level. And I have no idea how they get the steamed buns so fluffy but holy moly. I could eat way too many of them. Our server went out of her way to indulge our curiosity and find out which menu items were locally sourced (a lot of them) and she was so kind about it. Overall, the food is super fresh in taste and inventiveness, and the vibe is both modern and cozy. Can’t wait to come back!

Yum! Heard a lot of good reviews and friends who love this restaurant! Glad we finally had a chance to get in - the shrimp and salmon entrees were devine, with excellent wine options! Worth the trip, and now one of our favs in Dover!

Eclectic choices of locally-farmed ingredients. Everything was wonderful! Some of the best Brussels sprouts we've ever had, and the bao buns were also delicious. My son said the salmon was THE best he's ever had, and my hake was very moist and flavorful. The steak tips were cooked just right (but I thought the sauce was a little too sweet). Meals and apps were all on the small side, so don't plan on sharing. Overall a great place to go out for a date.

Great place, lovely atmosphere, easy reservations, polite staff, great wine, steamed buns were amazing, shrimp entree cooked perfectly. Would recommend for a special occasion meal to friends.

Lovely dinner with the parents! We shared the Brussels sprouts and meatballs to start, both were So Good. I had the shrimp with Gnocchi and loved the grilled flavors of the shrimp with the perfectly soft yet crispy on the outside Gnocchi. Great cocktails and a delightful lemon Panna cotta as well. Once again, it was confirmed that this is one of our favorite spots on the Seacoast.

We’ve come a couple of times and the food is always amazing. The menu changes every season so there’s always something new and delicious to try. Most recently we sat outside which has heat lamps and is super comfortable
