Loved the atmosphere of historical landmark. We went a party of 5 people, we ordered a lot of food and shared to try all dishes. Food was good, but we enjoyed more the old fashion atmosphere. Service was right on the time, drinks were little bit late.

Being an historical landmark, I’m sure many tourists like myself frequent this restaurant, but I have to say that it did not disappoint. Food was excellent as was the service. The waiter was perfect in his timing and everything was choreographed to perfection. Our dinner was the highlight of a quick trip to the city. It was the real deal!

A must stop on any SF trip. One of the only true old time places left. Nobody does oysters like them! And their drinks are not watered down. A real martini!

Iconic San Francisco restaurant with a full bar, privacy booths for parties of 4 to 6, linen tablecloths and a cool, old fashioned vibe. Everything was delicious, from the fresh Caesar salad and clam chowder soup, to our entrees: salmon and crab Newburg and ribeye steak. My portion was so big I took half of it home!

Oldest restaurant in San Fran. Amazing service and food. Really cool atmosphere. I sat at the super long "eating" bar...full sevice..etc

My friend kept talking about how much he looked forward to dining at Tadich, for the swordfish steak. I love good fresh fish, so I joined him and we set off for an early dinner. I ordered a baked fish over delicious mashed potatoes with two types of sauce. My friend has his swordfish, and was visibly entranced. After one bite, I followed suit and immediately understood why he was so fond of this unique establishment. There is a great 1920s vibe, with lots of rich woods and old American style. The servers are bedecked in white lab coats. Now I can't wait to visit again.

I understand why they are the oldest restaurant in California. Amazing seafood and your choice for it to be cooked in a few ways. So many choices. We shared the appetizers and even then the portions were so large but every bite was delicious. I ordered the Chilean sea bass which was nicely charbroiled and cooked to perfection. The sauce wasn’t heavy at all which made the fish shine! Even the rice and vegetables it came with were splendid. Order their sourdough and Bloody Mary! And my goodness their bread pudding and even their berries and fruit and chocolate cake seemed simple but tasted Amazing. The menu is extensive but they can take the simpler things and make it amazingly well.

I even had the lucky opportunity to have it for lunch during my trip and their clam chowder is also to die for!

The atmosphere was great too. Still old school style. Staff had their uniforms on and they just have that old time feel. Reserve your tables! Each comes with a booth which can make for a nice intimate meal.

Had the fresh fried clam strips appetizer and the cioppino. The cioppino looked so good, I immediately dug into it, forgetting to take a picture of it!

One of our favorite restaurant in San Francisco. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. No reservations? No problem. We sat on the bar and enjoyed a great meal with Brian serving and entertaining us.

This place is a relic. You can go to Michelin star restaurants but this is old California. Sand Dabs, Branzino, artichoke, and prawn cocktail. Juri our waiter was a CIA graduate from Hyde Park. It was a great experience.

Historical place with a high price. Places like this usually is the destination of its own and their food isn’t necessarily the star. That is definitely the case for this restaurant.

The atmosphere, design of the place, service style, down to the menu design go hand in hand with the concept. Everything is up to par.

We had clam chowder, fried scallops, and crab and shrimp a la monza. All tasted great.

It's definitely like stepping back in time. The cioppino was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. This will definitely become a must-stop place each time I'm in the Bay area.

Old school SF vibes with a lot of seafood options. The portions were large and well-prepared. Our weekday lunch was a heavy finance-bro scene but the booths provide nice privacy and the service was good. Everyone was happy with their meals.

A San Francisco classic, the Tadich Grill delivers an amazing experience. We had great service, both at the bar and once we were seated. At the table, the waiter checked in on us just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed, without being "too much".

Cocktails, extremely reasonable in price and made to perfection. Boulevardier a great choice!
The food, generous and high quality. The Petrale on the BBQ was cooked to perfection and the Halibut was great as well. Indulge in a prawn cocktail or the fried calamari to start (super light and crispy!) and even an artichoke on the side, and you can't go wrong.
This place will put a smile on your face and won't put too much of a hole in your wallet. Worth every penny!

Open for 173 years for a reason! This restaurant came highly rated by my Croatian friends and it was a great recommendation. The restaurant feels "old school" which is awesome and a totally different atmosphere than other restaurants in the area. The food is terrific, we tried the crab cakes and the salmon based on the servers suggestions. The service is top-notch and to top things off there is still a Croatian that worked there and he stopped by our table to speak the old language a bit. I am a first generation Croatian-American and a Cali Boy so coming to the first restaurant in California opened by 3 Croatian immigrants was a perfect match. Thank you for the fantastic evening. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to drop by again.

Tadich is many things -- the oldest San Francisco restaurant, a pinnacle of 20th century seafood cuisine, a trip down memory lane where grizzled career waiters in white tuxes become long lost uncles after your 3rd ice cold martini, and I'd argue the home of one of the most important 21st century things: a absolute banger of a meal sized salad.

Yes. The cosmopolitan salad is, at $38, as expensive as it is huge. But a trip to Tadich is a celebration and a splurge and this salad proves that it can also be healthy. Dungeness Crab, bay shrimp, anchovies, huge prawns, hard boiled eggs, and symphony of veggies make this a filling, satisfying, yet calorie light meal. I get mine with the vinaigrette instead of the Louis dressing.

When I'm not watching my weight, I get the sand dabs! Just a few reservations are taken -- be a little patient and they'll get you in!
