Safeway

Thank goodness for this Safeway. A true haven in the middle of the cutest area of downtown SF. Excellent organic options, expansive fruit and veg, spacious aisles, well stocked with variety, lots of fresh meat, and a whole Starbucks. The only downsides are the small parking lot (but I'm grateful for the parking at all!) and you will have to swap carts from the internal to the outside carts if you need to push to your car.

Nice clean store, no Christmas 🎼🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵though.

Plenty of selections of most excellent foods. I got 3 types of Gouda, Cuties, Gallo Dry Salami, Hot Cheetos, and Philly Cream Cheese.

No Christmas music though, is Safeway Anti-Christmas?

Too bad I will shop at Costco and Trader Joe’s, they play Christmas music.

Love this particular Safeway. It's not the one closest to my home but it's worth going there every once in a while, even if I have to use the ParaTransit van. Much larger store with lots of variety. Deli, hot food section, bakery, pharmacy.

This Safeway is pretty good! Wide selection, good sale prices, and not too much locked up. Even the service is better than Whole Foods, shockingly.

Gotta say, aisles were very clean, well stocked, and 10%off shopping if you get covid or flu shot.

Safeway did a great job adapting this store to the post-apocalyptic SF world that we live in. Shoplifting and other shenanigans are curtailed by a sizable security staff, proof-of-payment exit barriers, and valuable items held under lock-and-key.

The staff really sets this Safeway apart from the other locations in the city. Somehow, Safeway has assembled a solid team of employees here — perhaps because it is one of their flagship locations.

Shoutouts to Claude, Anthony, Ryan, and more! Thank You for all that you do, including dealing with all of the rude, nasty customers that take out their daily frustrations on you 😒

Shop union!! 💪🏼they need to redesign their line system. Seems totally inefficient. Glad they added many self check out. Def. Cheaper than whole paycheck. Wider selection of produce toon

Me and my friends had a picnic at Dolores Park Easter Sunday always bring those wings and barbecue potato chips

Go in get snacks walk or picnic at the Marina or take photos of the Golden Gate Bride

I came here today to pick up some items and had the nicest employee help me find what I needed.

She knew I was lost and decided to direct me to the proper isles to allow me to get what I needed and leave quickly. Glad someone is helpful here.

I had the pleasure of receiving my second Moderna shot yesterday in their clinic. Even though I'm sore today I'm grateful for the professional services they provide.

The biggest wine selection I have found in the city. Easily approachable, free parking. I am a returning customer. Largest hot food counter with cousins of many nations. The new layout seems practical. You need to ask for carts that can be brought to the parking lot.

Absolutely the best Safeway! Life would be much more difficult without it. Despite its sometimes "dynamic" atmosphere, I never feel unsafe; thanks, so much, guys!

It is nice to see Safeway taking measures for public safety and the store is clean and the bathrooms. Not, like before, tons of homeless and people just walking out with stuff with out paying. Back to normal.

The is fresh and prepared with love. We had an entertaining dog right next to us. Fun.

I visited this Safeway hoping to be able to get enough food to last throughout the night. I only had $8.00 to my name but one of the cashier's named Clyde paid for my groceries which were a total of $21.10. This was probably the kindest act that a Safeway or any other store employee has ever done for me and I am extremely grateful for his act of generosity. Thank you Clyde. You're an absolute Godsend.

Warning! Do not plan major shopping trips because the carts don't come out of the store anymore. Though upon request and availability you can get help taking your groceries to the car. This Safeway is larger and has better selection than other SF stores but the best reason to shop here is cruising for dates ala Tales of the City style. Gay or straight, there will be someone cute to hit on.
