Amazing place to visit at night! Weather in October is perfect. Wasn't too cold. Beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge as well as the city lights with "Karl the fog" hovering over. Definitely recommend! Nice place to take pictures.

Also, awesome hiking and views of ocean coast line and beaches, historic with WWII bunkers to protect us from the Japanese invasion.

Beautiful area for hiking and jogging. Me and my friends hiked along the Rodeo Beach trail a few days ago. Even in the winter this area is often clear and sunny, and offers stunning views of the ocean and San Francisco skyline. On a good day one can experience cloud inversions (though we didn't get lucky last time). The trails around the area are pretty wide and well-maintained. The area can get pretty crowded, which can be both, a pro and a con. Multiple remnants of abandoned Cold War-era military facilities are scattered throughout the area, such as positions of coastal artillery batteries (Townsley Battery site is about 85 years old, it can be recognized from afar by a huge barrel of an old artillery gun located next to it).

My favorite place to visit every time I am in the northern bay area!!! A must go in the evenings. Be sure to go right at the round-about to see the full Marin Headlands and not just the Golden Gate viewpoint!

Just a gorgeous ride and now that they restricted car traffic to one lane, it is even more enjoyable for biking.

Marin Headlands is a breathtaking destination that captivated me and my family during our recent visit. Located just across the Golden Gate Bridge, the view of the iconic bridge from this vantage point was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The sight of the majestic bridge against the backdrop of the San Francisco skyline left us all in sheer wonder.
One of the highlights of our trip was the stunning lighthouse that graces the headlands. Its charm was simply irresistible, and the picturesque setting added a touch of nostalgia to the whole experience. The lighthouse served as a beautiful reminder of the area's rich maritime history.
What made our visit even more enjoyable was the kindness and knowledge of the park ranger who guided us through the light station. Their passion for the history and significance of the lighthouse was evident, and they shared fascinating stories about its past, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for this historical gem.
As a family with kids, we found Marin Headlands to be a perfect destination. The children were in awe of the panoramic views and were eager to learn about the Golden Gate Bridge and the lighthouse. The park offered a safe and inviting environment for them to explore and enjoy nature.
Overall, our trip to Marin Headlands was a memorable and enriching experience. The combination of the spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge, the beauty of the lighthouse, and the kindness and knowledge of the park ranger made this visit truly unforgettable. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a picturesque spot to create lasting memories with your family, Marin Headlands should definitely be on your list of must-visit places.

This is a very beautiful spot for a hike. I have been many many times over the years. If you go at certain times of the year, you can even see deer laying out along the trails. The beach at the headlands is rodeo beach. It’s rather small and quite beautiful.

Beautiful views for the first bit of the morning the misty fog was so dense that I couldn't see the water, but I could hear the ships horns off in the distance so magical. So wildlife which I always enjoy and saw banana slugs for the first time in real life I was shocked at first. I was like what the hell is that, apparently you can find them in Alaska too. Let's just say Santa Cruz university lied about how cute they look. Although once the initial shock goes they are cute in their own right.

Beautiful nature area on the north side of Golden Gate bridge. Several abandoned bunkers, expansive view of the pacific ocean and bay, a tunnel route through the earth to get to the headlands.
Often many people given the proximity to the golden gate bridge and views. But expansive enough to be able to have a relative measure of semi privacy in certain areas of the hills to enjoy nature in a small bubble of solitude

Traffic was very light today. The skies made for perfect photography conditions.

We went at night. It's an amazing view.
Just be careful. On the way out, we saw a fox and there was a family of raccoons near the trash can.

What a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors so close to the city. Some great trailruns taking place here around the year. Just make sure to bring some good trail shoes, can get quite muddy on rainy days!
The views of the ocean, bay, bridge, and city skyline are just awesome!!

San Francisco Bay area is known for its heavy thick fog. If you plan to visit Marine headlands, Target sunny days. Today was perfect for pictures and a ride. My advice is to bring a light jacket and walking shoes. If you have kids use the bathroom before the trip. I've seen a few bathroom areas around it would take a while to get there if you're walking. Bring extra food and water , there are a lot of beautiful areas where you can sit and take a lunch.
Directions to get you here,
If you're driving from San Francisco
Cross the Golden Gate bridge heading northbound
Right exit Alexander avenue
Left bunker road
Through the baker-berry tunnel
Left McCullough Rd
The roads name is Conzelman Rd
Make a right to go to the top or left to go to the bottom.
WELCOME TO MARIN HEADLANDS ENJOY THE DAY ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Beautiful hike through nature with a nice beach in between. There's plenty of parking on either side of the trails and we were lucky enough to see several different types of birds. The hikes have a moderate amount of incline to them, but there wasn't anything crazy.
