Safeway

A supermarket chain with plenty of options to choose from in a spacious location that was looking neat: all clean and perfectly organized. High amounts of ready to eat meals for good/acceptable prices. Staff was helpful and both the salads and the tomato soup that I bought were yummy. They offer discounts for members and when I said that I didn't have a membership card, the staff lend me one so I wouldn't miss the savings.

The Safeway store in the Portrero shopping Center is a good store and very important to the residents that live near the Mission district, Portrero Hill, and near the Van Ness corridor. To review Safeway soley on emotions is shorting the real importance of this store. I have worked near the store for 15 years and i can respect the existence of Safeway. I especially respect how Safeway supports the community with great produce, a deli counter, and the everyday staples needed to function in life. The store survived the "Shelter In Place" conundrum and by doing so kept the community healthy and safe. All I can say is Thank you.

Can't say I've had a problem at this Safeway. The aisles seem to be clean and well organized. Security guards are present at the exits and the parking lot has video cameras. Prices are tease, especially if you sign up for their membership or use app coupons.

a real Safeway experience!
I was shopping here this morning at 8 am and everything was great actually. Clean floors, lots of options, stocked up, friendly staff, and security people in and out felt pretty safe also. Liked the Bakery much.

The Safeway located on 16th and Potrero Streets, SF was a pleasant experience. There were no shopping carts inside or outside the store, so I asked the security guard for one. He was so nice and without hesitation, he went to look one for me. When he gave it to me, he said for me to have a good day. What a pleasant surprise to start my shopping. I went to buy the corned beef on sale and when I couldn't find one with the sale price, I asked the butcher. He said they sold out within a few minutes and suggested I purchase a better cut or come back tomorrow. Since I took the bus, I wasn't coming back so I bought a better cut. Then I asked for the salmon on sale and he walked me to the counter. He choose one for me and wrapped it up. All in all, every employee I interacted with provided good customer service and thanked me for my business. I usually shop at the Webster Street store but I was in this area today. I might consider returning to this location again.

Monthly eat'ems made easy. I prepared the night before so I had a list ready to go. Busy but I didn't have to wait in line. It was absolutely AMAZING. Thank you Safe way for stepping up your GAME.

Safeway is known for it's (5 Star Quality of Groceries)!
Shop & Stop and always we overspend, but it's worth when you know the sales and Quality will be about the Family getting their Favorite Food items!

I have avoided most stores only grabbing what's necessary. I was dissapointed to see there were not many full baskets available. This is partially due to the transient population that frequent the location daily. The new lay out with big letters on the overhead signs make finding items easy.
The employees were visible and helpful. Yes the C19 has everyone cautions but greetings were exchanged. They were very helpful.

Great experience all the way around, nice security and good worker's that works there, fresh all the time and good experience all the way to home, five Stars!!!!!hah!!!

Aili, my cashier was beyond kind and she made my last visit a good experience. As per usual, the store was well stocked and immaculate. For all the foot traffic, I am always amazed at how clean the floors always look! Lol

Nice open space to shop. They always tag things that are on sale. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I grew up going to this store. Easy to move around. Fresh everything including the flowers.

Great assortment of most items. Actually, much cleaner than most, these days.
Absolutely Love the sanitizer, cleaner, etc which is Always right outside the main door, ready for your use, should you so desire!!
🧤Many stores are slacking off when it comes to store & bathrm & basket sanitizing, but cleanliness in this store is very good. Depends upon the time, but mostly excellent conditions & great lighting & well stocked shelves & helpful, friendly staff.
[Give security guards a break, it is one hard store to monitor, especially with all the riff raff (not just homeless) they contend with.]

Trying 😁smiling at the staff, they are just working their (very difficult hands on) job, with less help than they are used to having.

***I would say this is definitely one of the cleaner stores these days & I do, enjoy my shopping experience here***
I enjoy taking my time shopping, & I have been watched, even followed by security, but never harassed. It doesn't bother me when they are eager to catch shoplifters. Yes, they could be considered annoying, but that's their job descrip. (Don't take it personally when you are observed by somebody doing their job earnestly!!)
^^^We're all still at least a little stressed from this pandemic epidemic!!

Quaint little sub-set of the more larger Safeways. The cashiers are friendly and helpful, it's a very nice atmosphere. The hot food items are a plus if you have to grab and go!

Clean, very great staff. I will go back again an again it's not close to where I live actually kinda far but I will commute there just cause if the nice quite time I spend there, also very clean.

It is always a pleasure to shop here. I feel that it's a lot more clean that some places I shop at. They have some very good deals on groceries. It is my go to for groceries when I am in the area. They also have food to go that you can choose from to be put in a box. Good for quick lunches or dinners.

12/04/2020 stopped by to pick my son up some birthday 🎂 cup cakes we got the last tray❤. They are so fresh and moist and yummy 😋. Cashier friendly as Well.
