You have till January 2025 before they close so go check out this amazing and free photography museum. It’s got a great collection and they show other work that’s not in their collection. Also there’s always lots to see and because they only let 90 people in per day. It’s never crowded. You just have to make a free reservation online, so you have to plan ahead a little bit

I have known about Pier 24 Gallery almost since I moved here in 2010. I can't believe it's taken me this long to go. It's huge... way bigger than I had expected, and the show was excellent.

Excellent photography space, booking in advance is required, I did so on the day, space allows for contemplation and would allow an hour to view current collections. High quality documentary, portrait, photo journalism, filmic and a refreshing find to a while away a few hours under the bay bridge. Highly recommend

Great, really great, exhibition. Pier 24 is worth a trip to San Francisco alone.

You can take amazing shots of the bay bridge here right next to SF fire station

Fascinating gallery housing beautiful photography collections. It is free by appointment, and definitely worth it! The images are displayed blankly, however there is the option to purchase a booklet guide that gives credit to the photographers and their images. Overall a great place to marvel at for a while as the sounds of the Bay Bridge echo overhead.

One of the best galleries in the US. It's reservation only, so you never feel like you're in a mob. And the curators are top-notch, so you're guaranteed to see something interesting no matter when you come. They produce good catalogs for each show so there's always a chance to learn something new about the artists and their work. Finally, the location is great - right on the waterfront. You can easily find a great place for lunch or dinner nearby.

Great place to see unusual and interesting photography exhibits. Not far from the ferry building and right next to the Bay Bridge. Not open for months between exhibits. Attendance by online reservation only. Free. I think they're now preparing their sixth or seventh exhibit (August 2016). I haven't missed one yet. Have lunch at the ferry building. See the exhibit. Then take your own inspired photographs on San Francisco's captivating waterfront.

Such an awesome experience! The docents attend to one's every question and query. You must make reservations, however. And one should be aware that reservations often need to be made a few WEEKS ahead of time, so plan far ahead. This isn't the type of place you just drop in at. It's special.

This is a San Francisco gem. A stunning, massive photo museum that takes up all of Pier 24. It is the love child of an individual who grew a large well curated collection, rented the building to keep his collection in and decided it could be used to share his love of photography. They mount a new exhibit each year. Entrance is free. 20 people max have the place to themselves for a two how visit, so it feels like you are there alone. Reservations made online are a must. You gotta go!

Beautiful Gallery! A pleasure to walk around the pristine space, deeply respectful of the art it displays. Each piece is given the space it needs for the viewer to intimately relate to it without the nagging distraction of a descriptive tag, without the clutter of too many of people fighting to view it.

I'm sure this has been said by many other people, but this is just an amazing place and a hidden treasure. I've visited many times, and always enjoy their photography shows. I really hope they can stay at this location.

One of the best photo galleries I've ever experienced, a true San Francisco gem. If you're in photography, this place is a must. Make sure to plan ahead, the gallery is free but you have to have a reservation.

An amazing place to visit for anyone with an appreciation of photography. Second time I visit. Great staff, impressive location, impeccable curatorial display. One of a kind, don’t miss it when in San Francisco.

Very nice photo gallery. The exhibit includes quite a few photographers. It is will laid out and includes a guide book to help identify photos and their authors.

Interesting collection of photos for this current exhibit. I like all the seperate rooms for each photographer. I'm still undecided on the book verses wall cards for the photos. I love the space.
