I love this theater. Because the theaters are small, they always have tons of movies. The seats are amazing. They are huge chairs that have an electric switch to lay back and put your feet up just how you like it. Lots of room for cup holders and snacks. It’s just a great place to comfortably watch a movie.

Nice little independent film theater. My friends and I went to see Life of Brian and were pleasantly surprised. The theater offers online booking with seat reservations. Food options include the usual concessions plus a beer and wine bar. You can take alcohol into the theater. The seats were roomy and comfortable. We had to sit in the second row because we bought late, but it was totally fine.

Such a great theater. I’m impressed. Usually non-mainstream theaters don’t have enough investment to be pretty and have good equipment. This one has it all.
It shows non-mainstream movies, which are hard to find elsewhere.
The screen and the seats are amazing. The reclining sears are even better than at Metreon or Century: you can lay down almost completely. Easy to fall asleep 😴 if you don’t enjoy the movie :)
The only minor complaint is that the front row is too close to the screen.
The location is great. It’s right in the downtown, close to Transamerica and Embarcadero. Not many homeless people around, it’s pretty clean and feels safe.
Probably my favorite theater in San Francisco so far.
Last time when I was walking out at 9.30pm, I saw a raccoon 🦝 ! They enjoy going to movies too apparently!

Clean & comfortable seats. Def an upgrade fr other theatres. Staff is friendly & helpful. Try the popcorn. They have the small kernel variety. I had half trad & kettle corn. So yummy! Here's their food menu choices (from their website).

This movie theatre has everything: the newest and best movies, comfortable seats, just the right size screening rooms, several self-serving ticket kiosks (so there is never any wait), food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and wonderful staff. After it was rebuilt completely a few years ago from a very good but quite plain movie theatre, I thought I’d never get used to all this luxury, but now I love it. Yes, the first row in the smaller rooms is too close to the screen, making the movie unwatchable, so watch for that. Other than that I recommend it whole heartedly.

Incredibly comfortable movie experience. Large, comfy, electronic reclining seats paired with a fantastic, artisanal selection of food at the concession stand.

Easy online ordering and ticket pick up at the theater made me wonder where this theater had been all my life.

One of the best movie-going experiences you could ask for and reasonably priced, too!

Such an upscale experience. The seats are large and comfy and the bar is a nice touch also. I believe I paid $20/ticket to see a series of oscar nominated short films which is pretty steep but it definitely felt like a place to treat yourself to every once in awhile and not your go to theatre for big box office films.

This is a nice, fancy theater! It's small, I think they have two screens. Located on third floor of the plaza with all the shops. They have cushy recliner-like chairs and you also get to reserve your seats. If you don't like to watch trailers, like me, then you can come in after they are over and still get your pick for seating.

Love these theatres. They only bring good movies. The facility is very comfortable. The small threats here have recliners. You should always buy tickets in advance always full. They have a wine bar and food items that you can take into the movie with you.

The workers here have been welcoming, informative and good. Besides, the food they served was hot, and the beverages tasted good. The arrangement of the film house was ordered and comfortable. Also, the screen was wide and transparent. It was really the best one to visit here!

The best theater in SF. The theater is clean and not filled with annoying teenagers. The movies shown here are more independent movies. There are 2 different types of screening rooms, one has full on recliner chairs and the other has regular movie seats. There is a full bar and of course popcorn for snacking.
A great date night place!

Awesome low key theater.

Plays mostly indie films and I have yet to go there with a full theater..which is a big bonus for me because that means there's less rudeass people ruining the movie (aka people who talk, text, chew, and slurp through movies)!!! :p

Another bonus is that (during the time of this review) this is the only theater in SF that allows for advance booking through Moviepass. All you have to do is show up within 30 minutes of your booking...no worrying about the lack of seating here.

Grab a drink at the bar and some small bites from the concession, and enjoy the next couple hours!

I love the theater experience at the Embarcadero Center Cinema. I landed there one evening and found myself in seventh heaven when I sat in a fully reclinable bucket seat, with my feet up and abundant wiggle room. I have been addicted to this theater ever since in such a way that whenever I want to go to the movies, I check for what they are showing before actually deciding what movie to see. It also helps that they show mostly independent/artistic/original types of movies that I like, and that the A/V projection quality is excellent.

I worked for two different theaters. First at the Landmark NuWilshire in Santa Monica which is now defunct. Then a few years later, I moved to San Francisco and worked for Embarcadero Center Cinemas. One of the few chains I worked for as a student and then as an adult where I felt like it was a community even though it was a corporate entity. Managers always listened and took their employees' schedules into consideration. People were always creative and working on their own side projects. I recommend this position for anyone looking to supplement their income while also making some great connections.

The theatre plays a lot of indie movies! They also have leather seats, comfortable and clean. The sound quality and the display is really big and nice as well.

The best part? MoviePass!! This is the only movie theatre accepts MoviePass with outside of reserve seat distance. I can buy a ticket from anywhere and just check in at the counter, which is perfect for me since I live near by SFO.

The Parking around the area has different prices, some are $3 full day or $3 per hour (Weekends).

They have improved the seating. It's like sitting in your favorite easy chair. Usually great independent and foreign films. Discounted or free on weekends parking in the garage.

As a landmark chain movie house they have a nice selection of foreign and independent films, conveniently and pleasantly located. SInce they remodeled, they've put in fully reclinable, oversized, leather seats that are really day beds, which can't be beat for comfort. Numbered seating though, so take care at box office. I sit in the back, which is fine in the smallish rooms

This place is showing that limited release film that the other theaters aren't. Nice ambience and easy ticket buying experience. They also serve booze which always wins points from me. Go here for the oscar nominated short film screenings. One of my favorite theaters in the city.

Amazing theater! Big, electric reclining seats in small theaters or regular seating in big normal theaters. Same price. In addition to all the normal movie faire, they also serve beer and wine and appetizers! Artsy and Indy movies.
