St. Charles Inn - Hotel Superior

What a gem of a hotel on St. Charles. I traveled to New Orleans with my husband and two toddlers for some mardi gras fun and culture that I grew up with. Safety is a big concern for me when traveling here, and I immediately felt comfortable and at home when we arrived to the St Charles Inn. The entire staff is so kind and attentive. They treat both the establishment and guests like you're family visiting their home. Even during the parade chaos, the restrooms and lobby stayed immaculate. You cannot beat the location, free parking, and complimentary breakfast. We love it here! The customer service was so wonderful, I'm sitting here writing a review on my first full day. Highly recommend!

Excellent mid priced hotel in Uptown with a streetcar stop just steps away. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nice Mexican restaurant adjoining the hotel. Continental breakfast that is freshly stocked.

Me and my husband experience at this hotel was outstanding the staff was very nice, friendly, and sweet our room was clean and spacious we slept like babies we stayed two nights the breakfast was good and simple we sat on the patio and enjoyed the scenery and the locals jogging or walking by I wish we had a longer stay but we will definitely be back and recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting New Orleans

We had an amazing sta! Our room was extremely clean (I’m super critical, especially if hotel bathrooms and I had not one complaint!) and comfortable. The staff were all incredibly nice and the location is amazing. We will definitely be back!

A nice hotel on St Charles Ave, attached to the Superior Grill Mexican restaurant and near a trolley stop. Our room was clean and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a bit tight but there was an additional sink area when you first walk in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice feel to this hotel and we will definitely choose it again!

For price, location, and facilities, we will definitely be back! We were traveling with three adults and two dogs. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very quiet, which was especially great so that our dogs wouldn't bark. There was always plenty of hot water and the added vanity mirror was a nice touch! The coffee in the lobby was much appreciated, too. Breakfast was sufficient, but if you want a bigger breakfast, there are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from. Being in the Garden District made us feel like we were in a safe location, and the locals were very friendly, too. Being right in front of the St. Charles streetcar line was a HUGE convenience, as was Superior Bar & Grill being right next door. I also made note of the fact that the hotel is right along the Mardi Gras parade route :) Due to the hotel's free parking (hard to find in New Orleans), we saved so much time from driving around, looking for parking. This was not our first time to New Orleans, but it was the first time we made use of the streetcars. For newcomers to New Orleans, I highly recommend getting a jazzy pass and just let the streetcars take you to the general area you want to go. From there, you can just walk to your destination.

This place screams New Orleans!! Perfectly situated in the Garden District on the Trolly line. Was in town for Jazz Fest. Great people, rooms, amenities. Impeccable housekeeping.

The rooms were lovely and had extras (second vanity, great beds, excellent local coffee) that I would not have expected at such a good price. Breakfast was a very basic continental, maybe because of off season. Despite crazy construction, the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. Free parking felt very safe in the secured lot. Highly recommended.

The fact that it's located on St Charles Avenue in an older, historic section of town should give you a reason to bed there for several nights. As most people do go to New Orleans for the beauty and richness of its past.
I myself was completely surprised by this place, given the price of the rooms. They are spacious, well kept and there's a great history in the building itself. A history that you would not want to ignore if you’re interested in the true richness. The fact that it's been there for so long would say to you that it is worth the time and effort to be there. The staff is fantastic and always courteous, the continental breakfast is good for a morning start, and most assuredly it's clean. Trust me, from a finicky person’s point of view, that’s saying a lot. All in all, the St Charles Inn was a most pleasant part of my journeys that started back in February of this year.
If you get a chance, stop in for a few days. It will be worth your while.

We stayed at the Saint Charles Inn last night. We came to New Orleans for medical testing for my husband. Hotel is literally in walking distance from the hospital and my husband’s doctors office. It was very nice having a gated parking area which was included to my surprise at no extra fee. I was very pleased with the size of the room and the amenities in the room. We were very comfortable there was no noise and slept very well. The staff was friendly and courteous anytime we needed anything. The superior Grill restaurant is literally attached to the hotel, and you can enter through a door in the lobby, which is very convenient. The restaurant and the staff there was also very courteous and friendly. You can hop on the street car very close to the hotel. This was super convenient for us as my husband can’t walk long distances. I wanted to mention we also travel with my husband’s service dogs, and the hotel was very accommodating to us and them. The price is very reasonable and I would highly recommend staying here. Anytime you are in the big easy! The hotel is very pretty as well. Forgot to say that. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Exceptional in every way possible. Easy access to the St. Charles streetcar line. You can literally park your vehicle and have easy access to the entire city.

I booked a room at the hotel and about a week before my stay I had to cancel due to a small family emergency. The staff was very helpful and understanding with my cancellation and helped me over the phone very quickly and easily. Thank you for the excellent customer service despite me having to cancel my visit.

My wife and I spent Valentines Day 2023 at the St. Charles Inn and had a terrific experience. Reasonably priced, free parking, and being right on the historic streetcar route were the main reasons we selected the hotel. We had a large king bed room on the second floor (via elevator) which had a very nice, clean bathroom. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, even going out of their way to print out some tickets we had on our phones (thanks Ceyda). Free continental breakfast available. We really have nothing negative to say about this wonderful New Orleans hotel and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Decided to take a trip home to New Orleans for a last minute Memorial Day getaway and couldn't beat the price. Amazing old hotel with the perfect location. Rooms were a great size and very clean. The hotel is right on St Charles within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The streetcar is right there as well if you don't want to walk. We didn't need to take the car out of the lot at all. Loved sitting on the front porch area at night watching people stroll by as well as the streetcars.

This stay was a highlight of our cross country trip. The staff is very hospitable. Location can’t be beat with the St. Charles trolley out front. Rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious. Parking is safe!Bfast was convenient. The overall value was excellent.

We had a wonderful experience here at this hotel. We stay here during Mardi Gras and always have a fantastic time. The rooms, service and food are extremely good. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

This was a spontaneous find simply by driving around in the area we wanted to stay in. I must say that if I were to return to NOLA that I would stay here for the entire visit! I loved it and the attached Mexican restaurant was an added bonus! Affordable, clean, nice staff and super cute! Please keep in mind that almost everywhere in NOLA there are constant repairs...but don't let that take away from this locations beauty! Love it!!!!

This is a great local hotel. It has free parking and a free small breakfast along with reasonable nightly rates. The rooms have recently been remodeled with laminate flooring, area rug, new bedding and removal of wall paper/paint. The bathroom is a bit older/smaller but it has an extra sink in the room...this was a pleasant surprise from website picture. The parking is gated. The breakfast had bagels, toast, coffee, frozen breakfast sandwiches, cereal, juice and breakfast bars. The street car line is right out front and very convenient. We enjoyed sitting out at the tables on the patio. Room was made up daily and the room is clean. At times I am leary about private hotels but this one is a winner.

Pretty good for the price I have to say. As a former local I feel it’s on one of the uglier strips of St Charles but it’s a ten minute max Uber to the Quarter and a couple minutes walk from Magazine Street. The St Charles streetcar runs directly in front of the hotel so you can get to most of the notable East Bank attractions via transit if you want. Rooms were small but comfortable and the staff was helpful when I needed them. Didn’t try the breakfast.
