A fantastic local tobacco shop that provides amazing smells and a very cool selection of products. This place will easily satisfy all you tobacco needs and also offers a very nice selection of soap and aftershave. This is a very cool old timey shop with a great atmosphere and excellent staff. They also sell knives, pipes, pipe accessories, marbles, games, souvenirs, and assorted "manly" knick-knacks. I highly recommend stopping by and seeing the store while in Harvard Square as it is a beautiful place with an awesome selection of products.

A truly unique store / landmark that has the only excellent tobacco in Boston, plus a million other "kingsmanesque" gadgets, blades, shave kits, old school prints, and chess sets — all tying into the history of the place.

They have antique prints which is neat. Service is always spectacular — Norris has gone above and beyond many times since I started shopping here, about 13 years ago. Shaun is also amazing. Easy convo and kind service every time. Really, the entire staff is great.

Definitely worth a visit, or many. If cigarettes are a thing for you, I'd say stop buying from faceless corpos and swing by L&P for some proper material (they do a shag cut of an American blend!)

You also can rent the loft space cheap to play chess. One of a kind.

If it were possible to rate even more stars i would not even sure there is an appropriate number of stars to rate them the quality of tobacco and anything else ive bought there rolling machines papers are outstanding prices are more than fair the staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they accommodate everyone who visit the store equally and polite and will talk over with other coworkers to make sure they are able to answer any all questions you might have if you are not a smoker they have many other things that you may be interested in novalties games and more i recommend to everyone who is in harvard sq and has lil time to check them out

This place is like traveling back in time. It is independently owned and operated. It has a wide range of interesting items, and high quality tobacco products. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I made my first purchase there 40 years ago, my most recent was today.
Franchises have replaced a lot of what used to occupy Harvard Square, but this place has lasted!

Its a great landmark and a great Small buisness to support in the area... Great Service and Staff! Amazing quality products. This is a great place for gamers to buy Chess Supplies as well as other table top board games and toys. They have an amazing selection of old school SHAVING GIFTS! They also carry multi tools and hard to find odds and ends like specialty mints and hand blown marbles! All around local stop that should be around for another 140+ years!!!

Returned to Cambridge after living in Virginia for 5 years, and visited my old favorite tobacconist.

Nothing has changed in the time passed. The same wonderful and attentive staff is still there gracefully helping customers. They have the positive attitude, customer service, and work ethic one can only dream of experiencing these days.

As long as Leavitt & Pierce stays open, my business will always remain with them.

Walk into this place and you will feel like you time traveled back 100 years. Fantastic collection of tobacco and other gifts as well, not to mention incredible prices. Been a customer for years and hope to continue for a long time.

A true step back in time. I'm so glad they are still going. I buy all my rolling tobacco here. Best price in town by a long shot. Great service and selection. Also a fantastic collection of quality products from shaving supplies to flashlights to hand carved board games. A wonderful place to find a gift.

I left the Boston area 25 years ago, but make it a point to come to L & P on my yearly visit. A cornerstone of Harvard Square.

This is the coolest spot in Harvard. Excellent for smokers with many other cool unique items that you will crave to get as gifts. Has an antique feel; why not? It is one of the oldest places around. They have all kinds of items anybody would want. Staff and owner are very proud, and accommodating.

Best store in Harvard Square without a doubt. The best pipe and rolling tobacco I have ever found and at incredible prices. Helpful staff will let you smell and try whatever you want.

A one-of-a-kind gift & smoke shop with fabulous customer service. If you smoke tobacco, the price is right with their offerings & are always of excellent quality. However, if you're into the green stuff, head over to the Hempest instead; L&P doesn't cater to that crowd.

This place is amazing, frozen in time. Friendly and helpful staff. I spoke with one of the owners for awhile about the history of the shop. A great selection of items. Will definitely come back when I’m in town again.

While I can't say I know much about many of their products, their cigar and cigarette selection is really quite good. I'm also a big fan of their decorative gifts. I've bought my brothers some of their tin posters which they've really enjoyed
