Mario's Italian Restaurant

Marios has always been my favorite place to when when I visit the states and I always make sure to bring my guest there. This was my partners fiest visit and he cannot wait to make the trip back... The place was absolutely packed, but staff were super friendly and attentive in letting us know timing. Turn over was quick. The food is absolutely amazing and quick to come out! We had stuffed mushrooms, which were super flavorful! The pizza has the perfect crust and sauce, with good ratio of toppings. Cannot wait to go back!!!

I love Mario’s for the meatball sub. It’s probably the best meatball sub I ever ate and certainly the best one I eat on a regular basis. Get it with meat sauce and provolone cheese.

I like it with a Mediterranean salad and a glass of Chianti. The service is casual but friendly. The style is old school with checked tablecloths and dark wood.

They don’t take reservations and the wait can get long, but it’s worth it.

Was visiting Massachusetts and wanted some authentic Italian food and found it here. The place has a really homey vibe. Staff was super nice and food came out pretty fast :) I got the ravioli with spaghetti meatballs and meat sauce, it was amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you’re hungry for some good food at a reasonable price.

We flew in from out of state and hadn’t eaten in nearly 12 hours. So glad we discovered this place! The service was great and the lasagna was some of the best I’ve ever had. Very cozy atmosphere.

Step back in time into this cozy and classic Italian restaurant! It can get busy during lunch and dinner, but the staff is kind and does their best to keep things moving. Very kid friendly, the pizza was great, huge calzones, my family loved it.

This is probably where I go when I'm craving decently priced, appetizing and good Italian food. I recommend the chicken parmesan with eggplant or the baked Ziti which are both very good. I also like how you can choose between meat sauce or just tomato sauce and the bread and wine are also very good too. Overall, definitely an Italian place I would go back to,
to try more of their menu items and get some of my favorites from there!

Classic no frills Italian restaurant. The food is excellent here with large portions and low prices. The staff is very nice and attentive and this place is great for families. The chicken parmigiana is my favorite dish and is one of the more popular food items offered.

Really fun Italian spot with great vibe. Didn’t have a chance to try the famous ziti. Next time.

My family and I love Mario's. We enjoy the cozy dining area while enjoying their delicious homemade food. The dining area is perfectly lit, and you can enjoy eating your meal while enjoying the view of both inside the restaurant and outside viewing passerbyers and a whole lot of good Lexington history. through a nice sized window. The staff are welcoming, and Mario's delivers a wonderful authentic smell of Italian food. There is plenty of parking, especially out back, and there is also a back door brandished with Mario logo for easy access. Their prices are the best I've seen anywhere.

Really good food! Pretty fast service and not too long wait, but it is a small restaurant so the tables are limited! Idk how busy it is at other times. Got garlic bread and lasagna. A little loud though, but it happens. Good portions for the prices.

YUM!! Super delicious! The waitstaff is friendly and quick. They didn’t have dessert, not sure if they were just randomly out … not like I need dessert 🤷🏼‍♀ I can’t wait to go back to try something else!! 10/10

What a great Italian restaurant. Stayed up the street at Aloft and did a google search and said Mario’s sounds good. It was fantastic. 53 years old school restaurant with the best chicken parm I have ever had. The best part is they keep their prices low!!!

One of the best chicken parms I’ve ever had. Tried to order on UberEats but it said the restaurant had its tablet off so it cancelled the order. Decided to just go pick it up and I’m glad I did.

Cozy place, good service and ok food. Tends to get busy around lunch time, even during business week. Butter is under the bread basket. Parking in back for 1 dollar for 2 hours.

Best tiny Italian dinner I've been to In massachusetts! (I only been to a few) but it was really good and fairly priced for lunch.
I been to caprickios in Rhode Island, this was better and a third the price...and the waiter didn't try and ask my girl friend out while I was sitting next to her) great place!

Mario's is one of the few places I go to every time I'm visiting home. The staff is friendly. The food is delicious and comforting. Downtown Lexington is so cute. This place is pretty casual, but that's what makes it awesome. I have so many fond memories eating here with my family. You can't go wrong with the spaghetti and meatballs. Their meat sauce is the best ever. I also really like their eggplant parmesan and calzones. Everything is great.

There are few places that I can say I've been going for decades - Mario's is one of them, 30+ years and counting! Being back in Boston for the holidays it was top of my list to return here for great no frills Italian food, the type I had been desperately seeking when living in Seattle and Portland. A cozy little hole in the wall, Marios has all of the italian staples that can feed a family on the cheap. I really want to stress and emphasize that part - where every other restaurant in greater Boston has jacked up their prices with no change (or declining) quality I was pleasantly surprised to see Mario's was exactly as I left it 15 years ago - ~14 for a delicious chicken parm and pasta side, enough food to be perfectly full without being stuffed. A cozy atmosphere that always feels full and lively, likely because of the narrow layout of the dining space, and friendly waitstaff. Bring your friends from out of town here to show them the suburban italian family style dining which makes our area great.

Parking available on the street but part of the experience for me is parking in the lot out back and coming in the back door, past the kitchen, and into the waiting area.

I've been making the rounds to some of my favorite places from growing up outside Boston and many of them have let me down - was it nostalgia all along or did the quality and service really decline that much in 15 years? I am glad to say Mario's hit the nail on the head and retains a special place in my heart after all these years. Literally the only thing that's changed is the tablecloths. From the "bench" you wait on to be seated to the paintings of Italy on the wall it is exactly as I remember.

Let's get this place on the national historic register already! Much of Lexington center has changed but I am eternally grateful for a wonderful meal with mom at my favorite local eatery this past week.

We had an amazing experience! The food was really good, the portions were perfect, the staff was helpful and pleasant. I had the Antipasto Salad; very filling. I would highly recommend the house dressing. The atmosphere was relaxing; we never felt rushed. I would highly recommend visiting Maroi's for dinner if you want an authentic Italian meal.

We were visiting Lexington for the Revolutionary War history. We needed somewhere to eat lunch and picked Mario’s. So glad we did! We had pasta with meatballs and chicken parmesan. Everything was delicious…especially the sauce and meatballs! It was very busy when we were there, but the service was great and the food came out quickly! The prices are very affordable…especially the lunch specials! So glad we had lunch here!

Great food and service! My mom loved the chicken parmesan and my dad said the meatballs were the best meatballs he ever had. Salad was very fresh and crunchy. The creamy Italian
Dressing was delicious! Very cozy decor. My only complaint is that the seating was a little tight. Someone had to scoot in a the table behind me before I could sit down and then I accidentally leaned back and pushed into the person at one point during our meal. This was probably the best Italian restaurant I have been to. Would recommend!
