I use to come here 15 year ago with my Dad we always wonderful experiences. I come back after 15 years the place still same never get disappointed food was wonderful it felt like home again one of best Italian in Alexandria

We love this place! We stumbled across it one evening looking for a good Italian place in Alexandria. We called ahead, walked in, and were greeted with live music (a gentlemen playing piano and singing classics), and Natasha and staff. We had THE BEST meal. Wine, appetizers (try the Bruschetta), and the best homemade pasta I’ve ever had in my life…. First bite is a bite of Heaven. The atmosphere is intimate, quiet, and cozy.The pasta dishes melt in your mouth - nothing bad on the menu! We love the service, the food, and the environment. My husband and I have made this our new date spot! Highly recommend for quiet date nights and family get togethers or to take visitors in town!

White tablecloths, quality wine and subtle ambiance of Italian music all cozily nestled in an intimate setting! Amazingly delicious, romantic atmosphere and friendly staff. We had a fantastic time! New favorite spot in old town that’s been here for over 40 years. Thank you 👏 Grazie for the best cannoli too

Had an exceptional dinner at Trattoria da Franco. Superb service and great atmosphere. Our dinner entres were some of the best we’ve ever had. Food was served quickly. Would like to give this restaurant more stars: they deserve it! Have dinner at Trattoria da Franco, you will not be disappointed!

Took my friend on New Years Day for dinner. It was very quiet but the food was beyond incredible. The ossobuco was out of this world and the burrata stuffed ravioli with pancetta in cream sauce was 🤌🏻. The tiramisu and cannoli were delicious to boot! We’ll be going back to check out an opera night! Don’t sleep on this absolute gem! 💎

Where'd do I start?..Ms. Natalia was so sweet and wonderful to have as the person waiting us. We came a little early (5 min before 5pm) but she still sat us and got us menus. It truly felt like I was back at my grass

The food was sooo good. Get the fried cheese and anchovies, it's 🤌🏾🔥🔥🔥. I had the frittura mista which was sooo bomb. Do not forget to grab the tiramisu!!

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience. I'm not even kidding when I say that this is some of the best Italian food I've had in my life...second only to some of my family's dishes. It's a cute little spot right in Old Town. We dined inside, and it was a cozy and quiet room, with soft Italian music playing in the background. There's an outdoor dining area as well, and I'll be sure to try that out when it's warmer outside.

The waitress was very friendly and gave us some great suggestions for food. We ended up having the espresso, zucchini fritte, asparagi con formaggio, garlic bread, gnocchi, tiramisu, and the Bueno Aires cake, a chocolate cake topped with praline, walnuts, and hazlenuts, served with strawberries and whipped cream that was undoubtedly homemade.

The espresso was perfectly balanced. The vegetables were packed with flavor and melted in your mouth as you ate them. The garlic bread was just what you expect. The gnocchi tasted homemade, and the sauce balanced out the heaviness of the pasta very well. The desserts were absolutely delicious and were gone before we knew it.

It was just a little bit on the expensive side ($18-$20 for an entree), but absolutely worth every penny. Next time I'm in Alexandria I will definitely be paying Trattoria da Franco another visit.

Always my favorite. So happy to know Franco is back with all of my favorites still on the menu - carbonara and sole piccata. Love the piano music too but miss Peter. Excited about opera night!

Great spot for Italian fare and live music. Def visit on a Thursday and enjoy the dulcet tones from the in-house musician. Fantastic wine, excellent food, well worth the visit.

It was a bit too dark and I had to use a flashlight on my phone to see the menu. Beyond that hiccup, the food was superb. Perfect calamari. Exquisite gnocchi bolognese.

Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Top tier ambiance, food, and service. Went for the fried zucchini, garlic bread, Chicken Parm, and Tiramisu - couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I came to this lovely restaurant with a large group of friends last week. The food was amazing and wonderfully paired with wine. I love the coziness atmosphere; they also had live music. I look forward to returning. Again GREAT food!!! Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals.

Trattoria da Franco was a wonderful!!! This is a very romantic and cozy place. Being in this restaurant, I felt like I was in Italy. Natalia and Olena were very nice and professional. They made my evening very special as they are from Ukraine and I had the opportunity to speak with them in Ukrainian. I also want to say about the food and drinks. The espresso martini was great and the pizza was delicious. I thank you for your hospitality and I recommend everyone to visit Trattoria da Franco!😍😍😍

Got lured in by the owner sitting outside drinking wine, just looked so cute. Came with the family. All the food was really tasty, truly seemed homemade, but also took a while. There were only maybe 4-6 tables full when we were there on a weekday and everything needed double checked and still took a while. Not a problem per se for us, more "european style" service/atmosphere. We had a great time and the food was worth it, but others may feel differently particularly if its busier.

We love Franco!! His food is delicious and we recently tried one of his opera nights which was so much fun! Here is Franco cutting in and singing a set. Opera night is monthly!

This was a very nice restaurant. Very small restaurant but it was to the point where it was comfortable and cozy. Very authentic food and drinks at a decent price!

Since my move to the East Coast I have been searching for a superlative Italian restaurant that makes their own pasta and everything else from scratch. This is the place. It reminds me of home and will now be our regular date night spot for the foreseeable future.

Oh, and you must try the bruschetta. Absolutely phenomenal!

We made reservations on a Saturday night. When we got here the place was completely full and we had to wait at the bar for a table. Once we were seated, we were served in a very timely manner. The food was delicious and exceeded expectations. The staff was courteous and even gave us dessert and coffee for free since we had to wait. Not necessary but very much appreciated. Would highly recommend this place.

Every bit of our evening at Trattoria was exceptional. The food was the most authentic Italian that I have ever tasted. We will be going back again and again! Mangia!!

We visited for a late dinner last night and we were the only diners due to our late arrival. I called first and they cheerily said “come on in”. They were gracious, accommodating, and courteous by feeding us and keeping us warm by a fire for a bit. The food was excellent, the company was great, and we can’t wait to come back on an opera night. We had the carbonara, the veal piccata, and a nice bottle of wine. Parking was much easier than expected.
