I transferred from a different caring hands location and CANT say enough about the team at the Clarendon location. From reception (I think her name is Katerina?) to intake (Alexis) and my experience with the the vet (Dr Goff) my experience-and more importantly my pet’s experience-was friendly and seamless. Feeling like your pet is in knowledgeable, experienced hands that care about the animal’s welfare is the most important thing for pet owners visiting a veterinarian (I have had other experiences elsewhere that felt more transactional/sales oriented). Kudos to the person who is staffing, training, and developing the team members at every level at this location. We have a new home!

Charlie has received five star service at Caring Hands for more than three years. We appreciate the excellent care and great advice. The practice really cares about my dog, and all know him. I never feel rushed. The entire staff from front desk to techs to vets couldn't be more patient and kind. I know when he goes back for a test, injection, or procedure without me that he is being treated with the love and care I would give him. If I have questions that don't require an in person appointment, the vets always call back within a few hours. We have complete confidence in Caring Hands to care for our sweet, perfect dog.

We recently adopted a cat and we brought him here for a wellness check and to address some itching concerns we had. Everyone was so friendly and patient and walked me through all the possible options to address the issue. When the oral pill wasn’t working, they were available via email and phone to walk me through what the next best options would be. I really appreciate how thorough they are and how much they care for their patients! I highly recommend Caring Hands for anyone in the area. They are a great choice if you’re a new pet parent like me - I never felt rushed and all my questions were answered. We look forward to using them for many years to come.

The staff are fantastic. They're kind and knowledgeable, and I feel like they genuinely care about my cat. I also love that the clinic uses the Fear Free model. Additionally, I appreciate that the staff are responsive to post-visit questions. I've had a lot of questions as a new cat parent, and the staff have been patient and helpful.

I come from the District to Clarendon for this vet because over the years they've shown great care for my animals. Also, the hours are more convenient than most and they charge less than places like Friendship in the District.

Special shout-out to Dr. Thornton, who has been so patient and dedicated to working through my cat's ongoing digestive system issues. She's very responsive and puts together comprehensive care plans so you don't have to keep coming back for appointments unnecessarily. Plus, she has a soft spot for big orange fluff balls like my little buddy.

Very thorough and great vet practice to which I’ve been taking my dog to for nearly 6 years now. Every veterinarian is kind, caring, knowledgeable, and cares for any pet they encounter. I have an English bulldog so everyone usually entrusts a vet that specializes in that breed in particular but I find that the vets at Caring Hands know what they’re doing and I entrust them fully with my dog’s health and wellbeing.

Dr. Thornton is great with our dogs. She’s been with them since they were pups and takes great care with them. Front desk staff is friendly and kind. They’ll help you get appointments at other locations during busy times/emergencies. We love Caring Hands!

I have been taking my cat to Caring Hands Clarendon location for at least 5 years, and I truly feel that the care she receives more than lives up to the name. Their thorough, compassionate, and proactive approach to the health of my pet makes me feel extremely safe in their hands.

Recently, my cat had several health issues one after another. Not only were the Caring Hands staff members patient and accommodating, THEY actually reached out to ME multiple times in order to facilitate earlier appointments and to check in about her health.

I always take the earliest possible appointment with whichever doctor is available, and so I think that I have seen every doctor in the practice (at least on the cat side). Everyone has been so kind, understanding, and most importantly, THOROUGH. I have never once felt rushed through my visits; in fact, I have always left feeling that all of my questions have been answered and all of my concerns addressed.

I think this practice is amazing, and I will continue to trust them with my sweet cat's health.

We love Caring Hands Clarendon. Facility is clean and inviting, scheduling has been flexible, and we’ve found the doctors to be truly empathetic, caring, and skillful in helping our kitty’s broken leg heal with weekly exams and splint changes. They’ve helped calm our anxieties with professional bedside manner, and always willing to answer our questions between visits. A++

Great experience!!! I have an extremely anxious senior chihuahua, Pop, and I took him to Caring Hands Clarendon to establish care. He was so anxious about being at the vet that he was shivering in the lobby, but he instantly warmed up once he met Dr. Goff and the lovely veterinarian technicians (I cannot remember their names - sorry). My pup is not exactly a people person, but he was really relaxed and actually enjoyed being with the staff there. The entire experience was great, from scheduling to getting bloodwork results.

The medical team made the visit go extremely well, and they performed a thorough exam of Pop, including tonometry (required touching his eye, and I was surprised they were able to do it). They also explained the cost (financial) and benefit of every procedure/vaccine before they did it. I have seen some reviews mention affordability, and I think the prices are very reasonable… also, without my asking, they applied a 10% discount so I ended up being surprised by a cheaper price at checkout.

I will be going back for dental surgery, and I received an estimate that includes a range of what the cost could be because it will depend on the number of extractions needed. I appreciated the transparency in what the maximum cost could be. And the price for dental surgery also seems reasonable to me. Also, the estimated price included an offer for a 10% discount if scheduled in the next month.

I didn’t get the sense that the staff there was concerned with anything other than Pop’s health and getting him the best quality of care they could (while being mindful of the cost). Pop and I will be coming to this practice as long as Dr. Goff is there… not to say that the other vets aren’t also good,r but I haven’t met them yet. But the entire team (including receptionist!) that I did meet was wonderful.

Doctors and vet techs are patient and kind with my cat, who has been testy and difficult at vet visits ever since an unpleasant vaccination experience a while back. I notice that they won’t do something if it’s clear that it is going to be too stressful for the animal that day (i.e. trying to get a urine sample after a vaccination when cat is already upset) and will accommodate rescheduling to facilitate a calmer and better experience. I’ve been going here for 4 years and my cat has been all over the map— from sweet as a button earning praise for being “easy” to ears back, growling and needing to be wrapped up in a towel burrito to get checked out— through it all I feel this is a genuinely good and caring practice.

We had a great experience with Dr. Emond. She met our cat with where he was at, and did everything to make him comfortable and respect his wishes. She also answered all of our questions and followed up with us personally post-visit which made us feel really good about the quality of care. We will definitely keep coming back in the future.

I’ve been taking my cat here for over two years and our experience has been nothing but wonderful. Each tech is so gentle with him and Dr. Campfield has always taken the time to listen to me and my concerns. My cat has suffered two urinary blockages and each time it has been perfectly handled by the vet team at Caring Hands - making sure he is comfortable and that I am kept informed about his care. It is also nice that there is a lot of parking around the clinic so I don’t have to bring my 15 pound baby on the metro!

I brought my newest pup Peanut Butter to Caring Hands. They have been great to work with.

The team is super responsive to email, and the vets, techs, and team have been very accommodating and helpful.

My baby also got bit at a dog park and they were super responsive to help out and plan the right course of action.

My dog might be slightly cuckoo but she actually loves going to the vet and is excited when we come to the door. I think it might be the treats waiting for her inside.

I’m so glad I found this vet! I was let into the exam room early to situate my anxious cat. She kept hiding under the chairs and attempting to escape, but the vet staff were so patient with her and handled her so gently. They followed up by email with links to products I asked about as well as my cat’s medical record and invoice for the visit (which my previous vet did NOT do!!) So I am very grateful!

I'm traveling overseas with my cat and I was so nervous about the whole process but Clarendon-Caring Hands Animal Hospital was so helpful, they informed me about everything, the process, the payment, requirements. I first talked with Kateryna Pasichnyk on the phone and she was so nice and kind, she explained everything to me one by one, double checked it, she was so helpful and I was in a very stressful situation but she calmed me down, I cannot thank her enough. Traveling with your pet can be stressful so their help means a lot. My cat's doctor, Dr. Thornton, was very nice and helpful too. She also informed me about the requirements. I appreciate all the information and help I received. They're a great team. Thank you!

Dr. Campfield is the best. She cuddles my kid when she cuts his nails, and she obviously loves what she does and she takes the time to get to know you, too. I appreciate that the office has a cat waiting area, longer hours, and does small procedures like blood draws in front of you so your kid can see you while they're scared. They also do bloodwork at middle age, which is something I've never seen, but appreciate since it gives a baseline before your pet ages. They also use an app that allows you to keep your pet's medical records at hand should anything happen when they're closed, or give them to someone who is watching your kid. We have been patients for five years and I have recommended them to several people.

I needed a USDA accredited vet to produce international travel health certificate and after checking different vets in DC area I decided to go to caring hands in Virginia / Arlington. Service was VERY friendly and professional all the way. I will admit that I was surprise with the price I had to pay which was almost $200 more than I what I usually pay in nyc for the same thing. However I’m grateful and thankful for getting the certificate approved by the USDA so I can travel with my dog to Israel.

I had a great experience at Caring Hands. I took my cat in for his hair loss. The doctor and staff are very kind and professional. I can see that they love pets profoundly and they have strong interpersonal skills to make clients happy. By the end, they frankly admitted that the medication is much more expensive if purchased at their hospital, and had no problem about me purchasing the medication online.
