Dr. Ronald W. Earnest, DDS

I have been a patient of Dr. Earnest for years. I find him to be professional, kind and a good dentist. He will not do unnecessary work. Even before I had dental insurance, I thought his charges were fair. I took my elderly mother there when she had an abscess and she loved him!!! I have never been treated rudely by his staff. I would recommend Dr Earnest to anyone that is seeking a good dentist.

Great for someone who is terrified of the dentist!
I chose him because of location and reviews. I went for my initial appointment last week for a cleaning. They were extremely friendly and very gentle. Of course I need a filling and knew that even before I made my appointment. Dr Earnest was very attentive to the fact that I was terrified of needles. He numbed my mouth with a solution before giving me the numbing shots. When it came time to give me the numbing shot, he started telling me story's about fishing, and distracted me from the fact that I was having this procedure done... The entire time he was working on my teeth he continued with his outdoor story's about his family and children. He made what is normally a very anxiety ridden, terrible, nauseating experience a very tolerable one. I appreciate the care and time he takes with his patients and the all around great attitude the entire staff has. LOVE THIS DENTIST!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! Dr. Earnest is the best dentist I have ever had in over 50 years experience with dental work. I had an appointment for a filling but the day before had a tooth break and he fixed that one to the same day. Didn't feel the shot or the work he did. I am one happy patient. Thank you Dr. Earnest!

So far no problems. Been using this company for 5+ years.

Your difficult search for a great dentist has come to an end! They get you right in for an appt, and have very little wait once there. They do extractions in office and took care of my pain same day. The doctor is very kind and generous. Dr Schaffer, along with all hygienists, assistants, and admin have all been so helpful and kind. I’ve finally found an office that truly cares for their patients and not just how much money they can squeeze out of you. If you aren’t near Brighton he’s got multiple offices, check them out!

I saw the bad review and don't even know if it's true. What I "do know", is Dr. Earnest has many years dental experience. He's a very competent dentist and cares about the care of his patients. He makes no attempt to solicit any unnecessary work. He only does work you "need" done or work you request done. My opinion is he should be judged on the quality of the work he does and the care you receive as a patient. As far as personality though, I have found him friendly and pleasant.

Receptionist is rude and pushy. The main female hygienist is a know it all, gives unsolicited advice to everyone, even about topics unrelated to dentistry???? Go elsewhere.

Have gone to Dr Earnest for years and was upset when I had to find another dentist. There are no any hygienists at this office so after calling to see if they had hired anyone else for many, many months, , I was very sad and after missing 2 cleanings I had to leave in search of another, that Im not really am not happy with. I will definitely miss Dr Earnest, but I really need my teeth cleaned. I would give the Dr himself I would give him 5 stars but without a hygienist I feel my teeth are not experiencing the whole job that they need. So I’m sorry I can’t give this office more the a one

I am a young professional and was a patient of Dr. Earnest for several years while living in Brighton. I even reccomened family members, who have had extensive dental work done through his practice. I relocated to Chicago for a few years for work and just recently moved back. While out for a Sunday stroll with my dog, Dr. Earnest and his wife drove past me and circled the subdivision to abruptly stop me on my walk. Then proceeded to harass me about walking my dog in "their" condo complex, which is across the street from where I recently moved. I stated that I was a responsible dog owner and had the necessary bags to pick up any pet waste. I was then rudely informed that I couldn't pick up after dog urine on grass or trees and was not allowed to walk my dog there. I apologized for any confusion and stated that many people walk their pets here and I was unaware of any signage stating no walking of dogs allowed (there is none). Needless to say, I will NOT be taking my business back to Dr. Earnest, nor will my family members. When you live and own a business in the same area this is no way to treat neighbors or members of your community.

I would not recommend this office. I think the dentist does good work if and when you can hear back from the office manager regarding costs. I called three times in the span of 3 days to find out costs to bonding work my daughter needed. The office staff told me the manager was putting the estimate together. I never heard there was a wait from the insurance company and that’s what was holding up the estimate. Finally, on Thursday (Monday evening appointment) I called expressing that I no longer wished to have the Dr do the work because of the lack of communication from them. I got a call back from the office with a message from the dr not to call them any longer and they would not be giving me the estimate. I paid for the exam and the deductible and got nothing but stress and unprofessionalism.

When it's more about collecting money than about patient care, I think that's something to certainly think about. And I recommend reading honest review sites like Google versus a company such as RateABiz that lets the individual businesses choose which reviews will be published & I have to wonder if these reviews aren't being submitted by the business themselves? The patients reviews are very technical and all sound the SAME?? If it's negative the company receiving the bad review can delete it immediately. Consumers deserve the truth.

Hygienists are great but billing is horrible and nasty. Even though they are in network and are supposed to be a 100% covered they still charge an extra $25 to $27 extra per person. Will never go there again. In fact the "office manager" stated that she prefers we didn't.

I would NOT recommend going to this office. I had a few bad experiences and they were not helpful at all. The front desk person can be rude and lack customer service skills. There are other good options in the Brighton area I would highly recommend when seeking a good dental practice.
