Giacomo's Melrose

This is the third time I have been here and this is my favorite restaurant!! I have been in the restaurant industry for 35 years and I must say this is the best! Tanya is a great waitress, and she makes you feel like home and part of the family. The calamari is the best in the country...melts in your mouth. Prices are great and you always have a huge bag of leftovers.. if I could give more than five stars I would!

Giacomo’s ristorante has the best Italian cuisine in Boston! The table at north-end is always difficult to get so I decided to go to Melrose this time. No matter what you order, all dishes are flawless as always.

Good food, good service and the atmosphere was lively. The only criticism is that the portions on some of the items were small. Still, you're getting north end quality for half the price.

The wine list is on the smaller side but a steal! Eg A bottle of Belle Glos Pinot is $48(TW sells for $50), a Jordan Cab from Sonoma for $75(TW $60).

Definitely a recommendation, 4.5 stars.

We went on the suggestion of our Airbnb host and were not disappointed! They seated our party of 6 even though we didn’t have a reservation (I would recommend making a reservation as the place quickly became packed). The portions were very large this making the prices very reasonable for what you received.

We ordered the large calamari as an appetizer, definitely recommend! I ordered the frutti di mare special they have with the Giacomo sauce and it comes with linguine. They do not skimp on the meat at all, I couldn’t even finish it! Another highlight was the special of the day, crab stuffed ravioli in red pepper cream sauce. They were seriously yummy! I used the bread just to sop up more of the sauce! The only think that was just OK was the veal and linguine. Stick with a seafood based dish for some seriously stellar flavor!

Waitress was what I like to call normal, down to earth and very friendly. Food was amazing, we got the large calamari for the appetizer which was definitely a large portion and delicious, cooked perfectly. For entree's we had the chicken marsala (delicious) and the special which was a fussili with lobster and shrimp which my wife raved about. Kids had the chicken cutlets and ravioli from the kids menu which they ate (very picky). Friendly place where you can take kids and casual dress. Decor is nice and perfectly lit for dinner. There was plenty of space at the table in regards to the placement of others tables so seating was comfortable. Would highly recommend you try this place. We are definitely going back.

Food was great and so were the drinks, got the large seafood platter for 2 and it was a TON of food. The service was very friendly too, giving space when needed and not feeling rushed.

Pleasant interior and tasty Italian food. We tried a few dishes - the salmon and pasta with salmon are excellent, the different types of pasta (with veggies and seafood) our group tried were cooked just right, the eggplant parmesan was tender and tasty. The portions are huge and reasonably priced. The service is fast. Giacomo's was quite lively even on Tue night. We'd love to go back to try more of the seafood.

We usually celebrate our anniversary with dinner in the North End, but made a COVID-safe substitute this year and got Giacomo's take-out. Everything was amazing and still restaurant quality when getting it back home. I'm always a little nervous about take-out seafood because freshness and temperature can always be tough, but this was the best restaurant seafood meal I can remember. The to-go cocktails were also great (could just be poured right from a bag into a shaker).

The food is amazing. The chef was very accommodating. The meatless baked ziti is TDF!! 😋 Thank you Giacomo's Melrose ❤

This is my go-to for quality Italian food and I live in Quincy! I don't mind the hike at all even though there are two closer locations. I'm not gonna get into the other two locations as much but I rather not go to them due to quality of service. The food here is amazing just like the other two locations in Boston. I love their 1/2 lobster, clams, and mussels dish in fra diavolo sauce! The South End location doesn't have this on their menu anymore. We used to go to that location because they take reservations but the convience of parking and friendliness of staff in Melrose made it our top choice. It's also much bigger and way more comfortable for a nice meal without feeling you're on top of other people.

Excellent Italian food, some of the best I've had around Boston. A good variety of dishes that are all top-notch—gnocchi, fra diavolo, veal piccata, plus appetizers like arancini and burrata. The wait staff has been very patient with us even as we ordered plenty of wine. Take out is great, but the dine-in experience is ideal.

Food was delicious, service was great. Definitely recommend this place to eat.

This place rocks, I have been there many many times and I always loved my food. Staff are super friendly. Be aware that if you go on the weekend, there is a wait but doesn't matter how much you wait, it worth it.

I have many food allergies, my husband does not. It makes going out to eat difficult for us. As a chef I prepare my own safe food 95% of the time. I dine at places I can trust to take my allergies seriously.

Our server Sheila was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. The chef prepared a safe meal for me that was delicious 😋

My husband's traditional menu item was on point. He has the Lobster Ravioli and his only complaint is he wished he'd ordered a meal to go. 🤣

Well done simple, classic Italian. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Meals served quickly. The layout of restaurant is a little unusual so I gave 4 out of 5. Really a minor issue. Nice bar area if that's your thing.

Food was excellent,staff are super friendly and accomidating,Price's are excellent Rick the owner is a great guy and took the time to ask us how everything was.would highly recommend the goat cheese gnocchi ,and the ceasar salad 👍
