The store owner/employee was very nice and helpful, and I was able to find what I was looking for with his help, too. Also, just as a cool thing that I liked seeing, the receipt for my purchase could only be provided to me digitally (through text, email, or no receipt choices), which I thought was great for a no-waste solution.

Beacon Hill Wine & Gourmet in Melrose is great local wine store with employees who go above and beyond for their customers. I went in with my young son looking for fruit-forward domestic red wine. Being his first week and not yet familiar with the inventory, the sales associate called the owner, who took the time to speak with me directly. Unfortunately, they did not have what I wanted, BUT I ended up with a GREAT bottle of wine at the right price point, and my wife LOVED it. Thank you, Beacon Hill Wine & Gourmet, for putting customer service at the forefront.

One of the best wine stores in the area! They do a great job at rotating their selection while keeping the favorites in stock. You can also always find a cheap bottle if you’re looking for it, or something on the higher end of the scale. I like that their price range is so diverse - makes it easy to find exactly what you’re looking for without breaking the bank.

The people that work there are quite knowledgeable about the wines and willing to help if you want suggestions. They also do tastings certain nights with either their wines or in partnership with outside wineries or breweries.

Speaking of which - they do have some things that aren’t wine! Their beer selection is decent and largely local. They have a small but delightful gift section as well, and some meats, cheeses, and pastas too.

When you move to a nice suburb this is what you hope the downtown has. A great selection of US and international wines, handpicked micro-brews from local breweries, artisan cheese, meats, and hors d’oeuvre - a one stop shop for any dinner party. The staff is knowledgeable and while it is slightly more expensive than box stores the quality is much better so it’s great value for money - plus there’s always parking out front so very convenient to jump in and quickly get what you need.

one of my favorite places in Melrose, I visit every time I'm home. lovely, friendly staff, excellent selection of wine and cheeses. they put together a cheese + charcuterie board for a gift and it was stunning.

If you're a true foodie this store is amazing with their fabulous customer service helping you peer up the perfect bottle with the meal you'll be serving! Plenty of municipal parking behind the building. A favorite of mine hands down is Eugenia, her smile will make your day!

Melrose is still slow to embrace the full liquor store experience but BHW&G will soon be brought into the 21 century.

Rebecca is a sommelier without the paperwork. I would trust her judgement on any wine in the store matched with whatever food or event I had planned for it. We spoke about the soon to have spirits transition and I know her skills will easily transfer from grape to grain. And I know I'll be back when it does.

I don't drink and I went here to get my boss a bottle of wine specifically Grenache, I knew nothing about this wine, Melissa the Girl that works there is the BEST and was so helpful with every questions I Had and my Boss loved the Wine!! Thanks Melissa!!

When I stumbled upon Beacon Hill Wine & Gourmet I had found my mecca!! It's such a funky, eclectic little shop with hardwood floors and an old world style that makes me feel as though I've stepped into a shop off of Via Mercanti in Milan. No other place in the surrounding area has a wine selection quite like theres. It's simply fabulous!! & the artisan cheeses, dips & appitizers....Bellisimo! I found the staff to be very chill, helpful and the best part of the experience (and it really IS an experience) is that I always leave with a smile. They are so helpful in pairing things together for you, allowing you to test a cheese you've never heard of, asking questions to discover what your tastes and preferences are. I'm really just in awe. Kudos!!

Very well run small business that improves the downtown Melrose area. Convenient and classy, with surprisingly competitive prices compared to the larger stores in the surrounding towns.
