Hanscom Fitness and Sports Center

As a retired physician and former competitive athlete, I find this to be an outstanding gym that makes me want to come back for more! Exquisitely and thoughtfully laid out in generous spaces. Staff are very nice. Plenty of pre-wetted nice paper to clean machines after each use … exactly where needed. Wonderful customers of all ages. No pressure. Many ways to vary my workout. Major step above civilian gyms.

A large sized gym with multiple areas to workout, to include a Crossfit area. Has 24-hour access, if registered, to accommodate those who work into the evening or early morning.

The bowling alley was closed so we ended up using the gym and shooting some hoops, great facility.

It's great for current employees and retired military personnel. I'm in the gym after work and it's not crowded like private gyms requiring paid membership. It's very relaxed atmosphere and you aren't waiting for a particular bench, station, dumbells, or other equipment.

Beautiful facility. Very clean. Professional staff. The equipment was high quality, ROGUE and Hammer Strength produce the best weight lifting equipment. Not too crowded in the morning. The crossfit room was very nice.

What type of person would complain about a well-equipped gym that is FREE of charge?

FREE (to eligible patrons)+ clean = LOVE!

Great staff and great gym. Large crossfit area, sauna, indoor running track. Might be one of the best base gyms I've been to.

It's clean and has everything you need for fitness. Cross fit , free weights , basketball , you name it they got it. Definitely a great place still.

Excellent fitness center. I was using it when it was still the old fitness center and this is a tremendous improvement (even though it's been some years now that it's been remodeled). Has just about everything you need and it's a clean place to jump on a treadmill or hit the weight room

As someone coming from working on an army base, all I can say is: why does Air Force get all the nice things? Great facility, has a climbing wall, crossfit area, multiple copies of all the free wight equipment you need (nice squat racks and a proper powerlifting bench), indoor track, saunas...and the staff is actually friendly and helpful! It's too far out of my way to go here often, but if you have access to this place, use it!

Overall fantastic facility. The first floor of the gym has a rock climbing wall, basketball court, racquetball courts, room full of ellipticals & treadmills, very nice locker rooms (with saunas!), a wide open "crossfit" room with dozens of bars and plates, and a spin room. The second floor has a PT room, indoor track that overlooks the basketball court, and a large area that has every sort of stationary weightlifting equipment and freeweights.

Overall, the Fitness and Sports Center is equipped to the brim with quality equipment that supports a whole spectrum of fitness programs, from yoga to Olympic weightlifting. One of the great benefits of working for the Air Force.

Everything is spread out, so you might be going from room to room, but they definitely have everything you should need.

A lot of equipment, and very clean. I went on a Saturday morning and there were only a few people there. I am not sure where all the base's people were, but those airmen assigned to Hanscom need to get in there!

Recently updated. Was honestly close to getting a regular off post membership until the recent upgrades. Come check it out.

Great people and a very clean facility. Lots of equipment to workout with. Also great classes to choose from.

Great gym, I can come in here any time I want! All Holidays! Not sure if other gyms do Christmas. All weights are free to use at all times.

Definitely one of the better AF gyms and the offer 24 hr access for certain areas. Rock climbing and racquetball also available as well as an indoor track.

Clean, everyone takes care of the equipment, would rather go here even though its like 30miles away from where I live. They close early on weekends, I don't know if its seasonal though...
