This is a small cafe with excellent service and food. It is patronized by many regulars. The vegetarian omelet.I had was very good and it came with sourdough bread. My husband who always gets the most decadent. Breakfast item was pleased with his waffle with strawberries and whip cream.

It was very crowded and busy but very delicious and worth the five minute wait. Our waiter was very friendly and patient. It's a really good place.I had a great tournament. The bread was delicious and I pat it with french fries which made it even better. It's been there for a long time.I remember going years ago. So you won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere was warm and basically, portions generous and food delicious. My husband loves the ice coffee and I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes!!!

I've been checking out a bunch of diners in the Waltham Newton area and this one has been the best yet. I loved the space with all the booths, and the food was amazing. The eggs Benedict in particular was delicious and they have tons of options. Good vegetarian options too.

Great restaurant for breakfast or lunch! Prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food they're serving. The servers are friendly and accommodating. They were very understanding about my parent who has dementia.... Served her soup as soon as it was ready as requested, brought more hot chocolate as needed and they waved every time my mother waved at them. As my teenaged daughter says: "they know how to serve old people."

The food was very good. I had their berry strudel French toast (lots of fresh strawberries and strawberry ricotta cheese on challah French toast) was absolutely delicious - I liked it without syrup. The rest of my party had corned beef hash and eggs, cheeseburger, panini, and lemon chicken rice soup. All was so good, we didn't have any leftovers!

Handicap access: zero steps (ramped entryway); everything, including large bathrooms, on one level.

Service is on the slower side but friendly and the atmosphere is a little tired and very basic. However, the food is quite good! Everything we've ordered has been very fresh from the fruit cups to the salad. The menu is huge for a place this size and they make a lot of the items from scratch like muffins, salad dressing and potato chips.

Classic Newton breakfast spot right on Washington Street (with plenty of parking along both sides of Washington). This cozy Greek restaurant is very welcoming and a great place to go for breakfast and lunch. It does get packed but they are usually able to seat people right away or with a small wait. The staff is super friendly and attentive and the food is great (they also have delicious coffee). Overall an A+ breakfast restaurant spot that I highly recommend.

the hash and eggs was a great pick, although i wish there was more of the corned beef hash. it was so good! nice and crispy just the way i like it. i had the scrambled eggs and had them add American cheese plus a side of salsa. the only thing that i really didn't care for was the potatoes, they could have used some seasoning but that wasn't something i was hungry for so it didn't matter for my breakfast. overall a great place for breakfast and Aaron was very nice and attentive. my friend had the 3 pancakes and said they were good

This place felt very homey when I first walked in and it was really nice how everybody knew each other there. The lady serving us personally made out hot chocolate with milk instead of water which was really nice of her.

The food was also delicious. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it came with bacon, tomatoes, and other things.

Definitely visit this place for a shot of Newton culture!

Ordered on GrubHub for the first time. Egg, cheddar and turkey bacon on a croissant, hash browns well done, and a fruit cup. Absolutely delicious! So appreciative for all the options, which is ultimately why I chose to order. I.e. sundried tomatoes, avocado, etc. The sandwich was tasty, hash browns were crunchy, not overly seasoned, and the fruit cup was fresh and contained several varieties of fruits. Prices were reasonable. I will definitely be ordering again and again.

Forgot to take a picture when this breakfast burrito beauty arrived, finished half and then took this picture. It’s so good, highly recommend it for anyone who likes fries and eggs wrapped. Everything in the menu is reasonably priced. Friendly staff who are attentive. Not super crowded on weekdays.

This food was SO UNBELIEVABLY GOOOOOOD. I got the pastrami Benedict and my partner got steak and eggs, and we shared lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberries. When I tell you it was to die for? Believe me! And our waitress Edna was so friendly and courteous and attentive. If you’re looking for a great breakfast place, Village Cafe is it!

Had "brunch" with my daughter, and everything was great. The pancakes are huge and delicious. The French dip was excellent, with lots of perfectly cooked sliced beef. The hash was great, and eggs with it were good too.

Great spot for almost anything you can think of for breakfast and lunch. The chocolate chip pancakes are the best I ever had!
