Marty's Fine Wines

Did you know that the sandwich and deli counter at Marty's in Newton is amazing!? Every time I have a business meeting in Newton, I detour to Marty's for a delicious Turkey/Swiss on sourdough. SO GOOD! Great prepared foods section as well, and of course, there is a huge variety of beverages at the store.

The sales person was very helpful. I now know where I can buy low calorie wine.

Marty’s is awesome. Huge selection of wine, from old world to new world, from a couple bucks up to the top shelf stuff. Load of liquors and beer as well. Tons of interesting snacks as well! The workers are awesome and always looking to help find something. And there always seems to be a tasting event when we go there. Highly recommend!

Fantastic selection of liquors, wines, beer, and even obscure liqueurs that are hard to find elsewhere. Staff is always friendly and polite. Food/snacks look nice too, though a bit pricy.

Great selection of beer and wine. I was even able to find a brand from MI that I've never found in the Boston Metro area before. Unlike most liquor stores, they actually have a decent selection of imported German beers.

My review is based off of two things: staff and selection.

When I walked into the store, at least two of the staff members acknowledged me and wished me a good day. As I was checking out, the cashier was polite and also offered additional tissue paper for a gift bag I had purchased. This is all a person could ask for and I appreciated the welcoming feel.

Marty's selection was solid. As I mentioned, I was looking for a specific bottle, in this case, rum. The number of stores outside of those that were 30-40 minutes having a bottle were almost non-existent. Marty's selection is expansive and well laid out (thanks for the labels rather than me having to check groups of bottles).

Overall, just a solid experience from a store that was a manageable distance.

Marty's in Newton is hands down one of the best spots around. Not only do they carry a phenomenal selection of ALL of their products, but their customer service is absolutely unmatched.

My husband and I love to travel and try new wines. Pre-pandemic, we would have wine we enjoyed shipped home. With inflation and rising gas prices, the costs of shipping wine is absurd. We just got back from a trip in Spain, and I gave Marty's a call. They have such immense knowledge and are able to quickly get answers to what I'm looking for and often times, track down what we want!

They also carry so many wonderful local products, and have donated gift cards and other items to various fundraisers and charitable events.

This place is an absolute GEM.

I love such a huge selection of spirits. There had other items. I went to pick of a particular item for holiday party 🥳 the guy was rather friendly led me to were item was but I needed another size he took me lo get the size 🙃 I was looking for got it and would definitely go again if in area. But would recommend the locals to run 🏃‍♂ on down to this establishment.

Always a solid selection of liquors and wines, plus a lavish spread of speciality foods (I don't think I'd ever seen a _whole_ foie gras - like, the entire liver - in a store before haha). It's just fun to walk in here; the extremely enthusiastic copy on the signs ("The BEST peanut butter you will ever taste!", etc) is charming, and it's a great place to browse. Sure, you could aim straight for something specific you're looking for, and you'll probably find it in the extensive aisles (staff are helpful and knowledgeable, too), but I highly recommend giving yourself some extra time to wander through whichever sections interest you and just see what's there; maybe budget for a couple of impulse buys :-)

Was my Dad's favorite place when I was growing up, and now upon visiting Boston decades later, I understand why!

Helpful and friendly staff, amazing selection of beer, wine, liquor, and most surprisingly, a wonderful selection of international foods!

I miss the convenience of the location in Allston/Brighton but this location has an excellent staff. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive offering suggestions.

We go here every week. Carlos the cashier is really great. We always have a good laugh with him and he is part of why we come back every week. Great selection of everything. Staff will always ask if you need help and if you do, they have been knowledgeable. If they didn't know, they got on their radio and got someone who was. I love their giant walk in beer fridge at the back!

Marty's is great! Their deli makes amazing sandwiches. The large italian food shop inside has everything from nuts & chocolate to sausages. It also has a very large wine, craft beer, and spirits selection. It's hard to take it all in at one time so I suggest going back...often!

Perhaps the best wine shop East of Worchester. Their gourmet selection of chocolates, pastas, sauces, crackers, oil and vinegar, and nuts is terrific. They sell spirits and beer as well. The biggest plus is their deli, board head meats, pates, cheeses.

I always loved Marty's for their selection of beer, lots of great craft beers (from across the country/world), their amazing wine selection and reasonable prices. The other day I decided to go over to the "grocery" side and get a sandwich and that is when my dedication to the store grew. Both sandwiches that we had were made perfectly, great bread, fresh deli meats, and served by friendly staff. This place is great - oh and their redemption center is clean, usually empty, and the machines always work.

Marty’s fine wine is where it’s at. So much variety in wine, beer and food! Also my secret weapon when I’m looking for Jeni’s Splendid Ice creams because they have a whole case full. The staff is also incredibly kind every time I visit or call.

I've been shopping at Marty's for years. Don't believe the one-star reviewers. Marty's has a huge and diverse inventory of wines, knowledgeable staff, and an excellent selection of gourmet foods. Great sandwiches, too, at a reasonable price. I don't usually post reviews, but after seeing those bogus anonymous postings, I just had to give Marty's an endorsement.

I went to Marty’s for some Chanukah craft beers for my hubby. The staff was amazing and helped me pick some great beers. My husband is loving the beers and just found a new favorite! Happy holidays.
