Kilwins Chocolates & Ice Cream

Wow! I forgot the chocolate and fudge when I saw a chocolate shake and fell in love - best shake in the DC area. If that's the kind of quality they put into their ice cream, the fudge and caramels will be extraordinary. You can even watch them prepare those delicacies right in front of you; they do it with care. Definitely coming back!

Lovely dessert place in the town. A huge variety of ice cream and chocolates. Very unique and delicious. I tried their Almond crunch bar recommended by the staff and I am a big fan now. Also, potomac mud river ice cream is worth trying, loved it. Do not even get me started about the Sea salt caramels. It’s so difficult to control once you are in. Must visit store especially for all the tourists, you won’t be disappointed.

We are big fans of the chain, whether in Alabama or DC area and stopped here after a meal at a nearby place after visiting the nearby Mount Vernon.

Although it was a cold day, we had some great icecreams and of course some more sweets.

Dropped in to grab some goodies. You will not regret it from dipped apples, fudge, caramel chews and ice cream. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

The divinity ball and Oreo dipped in caramel coated toasted coconut was delicious sad that I only bought one but thankful as well cuz I could eat about a dozen. 😂

This is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Old Town, Alexandria. The ice cream is smooth and the chocolate pieces are great! I like to see them making the products on the spot. Great store to shop for your chocolate and ice cream favorites.

Among the most delicious ice cream places in town. Besides take-out ice cream, Kilwins offers a wide variety of other desserts such as fudge, cookies and many, many other goodies.

Staff here is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. The flavors and fragrances of goodies are in the air!

This Kilwin Chocolate & Ice Cream spot here in Olde Town Alexandria has the Mackinac Island fudge down pat. I’ve had the original Mackinac Island fudge when I recently visited Michigan. My pictures speak volumes of my experience me and my bestie has experienced in this wonderful store on our amazing day out. The gentleman working today was truly polite and friendly to us. My scoop of Mackinac Island Fudge was a great introduction to Kilwins, creamy and loaded with fudge. The chocolates, fudge, and other treats were tempting, but would never make it home in the summer heat. I'll just have to limit what I buy to what I can eat until the fall.

The best candy apple - chocolate, peacan, and caramel - available. Service is excellent with the old-school ice cream polar atmosphere.

I wasn't sure what to do for lunch, but because I'm an adult and on vacation, I decided to get ice cream. Cute shop with different types of ice cream and candy. The boy who served me could have been a bit more happy, but it's summer and he's serving me ice cream. I got the Potomac river ice cream (I think). It was amazing! I sadly couldn't finish it but would love to travel back just to get more.

A fully authentic classical sweets shop, it pulls out all the stops in its house made taffee and chocolate concoctions. I had a lovely experience with the ice cream and the staff made sure to get comfortable in like you're one of the family, I can't wait to come back!

Toasted coconut ice cream is to die for!!! My most favorite ice cream and I have not seen this excat combination of flavors or similar ice cream anywhere!!!

A darling ice cream and chocolate shop. The waffle cone was still a little warm and the ice cream was delicious- some of the best we’ve had. The toasted coconut was my favorite!

The Hubs and I decided to take a stroll and it was a cold day. So we were going in and out of stores to warm up. He said, “Do you want to go in here? We can just look at what’s on offer.”
Welp…They have the best hot chocolate I have ever had. OMG! Decadent, Delicious, Dark Chocolate. Made with milk. So good.
We also bought chocolate and I sampled the Peppermint Ice Cream. The young woman was so helpful and we took her recommendations.
