Le Bayou Restaurant & Oyster Bar

Wonderful little restaurant and bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The oysters were so big and fresh I had to cut them in 1/2 to fit on a cracker! True story! Great atmosphere and a friendly staff. Prices were fair for a tourist town. Alligator taxidermy was a plus! Gator Man Approved

This is the first place we stop to eat at when we go to NOLA, it never disappoints! The food is absolutely scrumptious and make sure to save some room for the bread pudding!

Le bayou was delicious. We had the debris sandwich and the fried green tomatoes with shrimp and grits. It was soo delicious I wanted to lick the whole plate clean! The drinks are yummy.

My husband and I stopped to have drinks and food on the balcony! We ordered the chargrilled oysters and alligator appetizer, both were excellent! Don’t wait in the long lines at the “popular” oyster houses, the Oysters here rocked!!

Great atmosphere and service! We split alligator bites and then I sampled the jambalaya, gumbo and crawfish etouffee. Everything was fantastic!

Great service! A little chilly but sunny on the balcony was the perfect combo in December. Had a wonderful experience and excellent oysters! Fresh oysters were great. Chargrilled were especially delicious!

Stopped in to pass some time. The young ladies at the door were welcoming and even walked me to my seat. That where I met Daphne. She was one of the friendliest and beat mixologists I've ever met. The Cajun Bloody Mary she made was fantastic! The Cajun Bloody Mary oysters were outstanding! I will definitely be back!

Sooo good! chargrilled oysters 11/10 must get if you like oysters! The sampler was 10/10. The red beans & rice I could eat every single day!!!

We visited from Atlanta for the Saints game and the service here was more than exceptional. The food, our waitress, and management handled us with care. I will be back.

The food and service were terrific. The couple at the table next to us asked if we liked our food. We told them yes, it was delicious. They then told us they had sampling food in the French Quarter for a few days, and this was the best they had tasted while in New Orleans. The portions were plentiful, and the drinks were strong. We were sitting by the window and had a very interesting view.

Upon walking by a young guy tried to reel me in there to eat. I'm not much for those kinds of strategies but I agreed to have a few drinks. The bartender, khryschian was very polite and made some exceptional drinks. He clearly knows what he's doing and values his job.

One of the managers was nice enough to suggest some good places to eat without doing the usual "oh this place is the best". All said and done I ended up staying here longer than I initially expected I would, but that's alright because everyone that works here turned out to be pretty cool.

All in all don't let the microphone thing give you the wrong impression. They're just trying to get more customers in but they are really genuine people and the drink and food quality is exceptional.

I don't give five stars, harldy ever.First time I had Gumbo here. everything was amazing! Simple, no nonsense atmosphere, great drinks, aaamaaazing food. Stop by.

This is some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. We’ve come here every night on our trip. The stuffed Cajun fish is incredible, as is the jambalaya, charbroiled oysters, the desserts, drinks— not a single thing has disappointed. Planning to go back again today to try the 🐊

This place was the first place we tried here in New Orleans. First time visitors and this place didn't disappoint! We were seated and greeted immediately. The staff was great. We tried the Fish Stuffed Cajun and the Bourbon Glazed Chicken. Both dishes were very flavorful and delicious. Would differently be back next time around.

It was a very pleasant experience. My son loved it as well.

Everything we tried was excellent. Izzy at the bar is charming and funny and a whiz with an oyster knife. He moves quick and takes care of everyone without breaking a sweat. Give that man a raise, seriously! We ordered a lot of items and he staggered putting them in so that we got everything super freshly made. Every oyster we had was great but the Bourbon St.-- Le Bayou's decadent take on Rockefeller is a must try. If you're looking for good food and even better people, Le Bayou is a must visit!

I Love their chargrilled oysters!! Fried platter is delicious also.

Great experience here. The food came out fast. The Senorita Margarita was not that strong but it was decent enough. Portions of food were great for the price we paid. Overall the atmosphere was very good.

For the best seat in the house, sit at the bar. Possibly the best service you'll ever have, and great food, too.
