Found this wonderful roaster right before arriving in Ashville. The staff was great and the coffee, excellent! Americano with a fantastic vegan biscuit! Drip for the road and fresh beans I can't wait to brew! Thanks PennyCup!!

They roast every weekend I believe and offer fair prices for their beans. I would definitely recommend the Ethiopia Guji. Parking kinda sucks if the street is busy though!

This little gem is the perfect spot for your morning coffee, pastry, and great vibes. We got dirty chai lattes that were top notch. It is important to note that every PennyCup location has its own menu. This spot has limited options.

They also have a bit of merchandise. We bought two super cute, soft, well made sweaters. Check it out.

Incredible coffee. We get our beans here and the selection is remarkable and the nuances of flavor are next level.

I ordered a chai tea latte and it was delicious. The staff were friendly enough and they have free wifi.
I ended up working out of here for a couple hours. Wouldn’t be my first choice as a place to study or work as there’s not many seats and the music was really loud. Instead, this seems like a great place to grab a drink and go, or to stay and socialize a little.

On second floor is a great coffee shop, with one of the best cups of coffee in Asheville NC. First floor is some of the nicest sculpture, pottery, , and paintings we have seen in the River Arts District at 362 Depot Street Studios!!!

This place is amazing! The coffee is super fresh, high quality ingredients, clean, and the barista was so friendly and wonderful to my family. Definitely going to make sure I make a trip here whenever I’m in Asheville!

Earl Gray Lavender with cortado - Yum!

Okay so I firstly have to say the bagels here are to absolutely die for. Like, so freaking good. I always get the hummus bagel. Huge portions. Coffee is also delicious. I love the SF vanilla. They also have apparel and I like to support local so I purchased a few sweatshirts! (Yellow glare is from a portable light due to not having power because of tropical storm Ian!) 😀

If the storefront doesn't make you rubber neck and steal you back in, the incredible barista and coffee surely will. Some part of you needs to sit in that open window on the world and take in the fresh air mixed in with the scintilla of roasting beans right behind you! We were actually enroute to another coffeehouse and simply passed by this one looking so adorable on the sloping road to the main street. Its like one big wink and a nod and then we saw the pumpkin spice latte signboard and its all we needed to know! Funnily our GPS then took us about halfway around the world to finally get back here, found some easy parking on the adjoining road just up above the PennyCup location and went on inside to be greeted by a truly sweet barista who we regrettably didn't learn the name of but blonde hair and just a natural customer service personality. She was the welcome on the welcome! Now, to the good stuff. Lean in here. The pumpkin spice latte is made with a honey compound made by another local business and to make mine more interesting, I requested cayenne pepper as its so very good for the blood and let me tell you, that was the right request! I ordered mine hot and can honestly say, I've never tried a better latte in my life? Top 3 easily. It also kept me pleasantly buzzing for the rest of the afternoon. Such a joy! Find this place and GO!

Best cold brew in town. Better yet are their prices. For two cups of the “fancy chains” you can pick up a 64oz GLASS growler of cold brew. Staff is also knowledgeable and professional.

I enjoyed this location because it had a modest, welcoming vibe. Primarily a roaster location, this spot had a personal feel. This is a great place if you want to skip a lot of the flashy frills of most other spots and get right down to the great coffee/lattes!

The most delicious cup of coffee we had in Asheville. Came here with the family, grabbed some tacos and chatted with the barrista. The barrista was totally cool, shared some of the roasting process with us and gave my partner a quick behind the scenes look at the place. We also got some banana bread and breakfast tacos! Finally, I took home a bag of beans for some home brewing :) great place, highly recommend!

What a find! My honey and I were in Asheville for a week and drove to this cool cafe for a cup of Joe 5 days of the 7!
The coffee at Penny Cup is delish ( my husband roasts his own green coffee beans at home and is quite the connoisseur). Love the pastries, the vibe, the art work, and the friendly staff.

Sorry it took so long to write this review… we visited in 2022 and plan to go back for more steaming cups this fall!

Delicious cold brew!! The barista was also very helpful and kind! We got some beans to brew at home!!

Our first time in Asheville and I’m glad we stopped in here. It was cool to see them roasting fresh coffee right in front of us.

The gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip muffin is INSANELY good and so is the gluten free banana bread. I also LOVED the lavender latte omg I love this place so good and not even expensive!! You can actually TASTE the lavender in the latte!!! HOW?! Idk.. maybe magic 0.0 but either way love this place!!

Best coffee in town. And if you buy 5 pounds at a time, it becomes the best value in town.

Always looking to find a roaster when visiting a new area. PennyCup is top notch! Jacob was working the bar. He was extremely kind and helpful and made a delicious cappuccino (almond milk) for my wife. They had over 15 options for single origin beans. I had an Ethiopian that tasted very pure and fresh. Prices are fair, ambience is cozy. I like the open layout. Someone was roasting a batch right there to watch.
