French Broad Food Co-Op

We were so stunned at the wide selection of bulk products that we’d only ever been able to buy online before (oat groats, amla powder, etc). The vegan burrito was a 10/10 and really reasonably priced.
So nice to have so many vegan, bulk, and produce options, and the membership is only $25/yr. This will be our #1 grocery store while we live in Asheville, no doubt.
As a bonus, the staff we spoke to were nice and helpful.

This is a great small market walkable to downtown. We were visiting from Tennessee staying in a BnB. We picked up our muffins, delicious lemon vegan cupcakes, wine. They also have homemade soups. I love all the co-op businesses in Asheville!

This is the perfect place to feel good about your food! Their produce is beautiful and they have great lunch ready options! They have a lot of local products too!

I am so grateful for this co-op. I only shop here occasionally, because I live in the Piedmont of NC. But when we are visiting family in Asheville, and I need food or supplements, I can trust that French Broad Co-Op will meet my needs. Just now, I was thrilled to find three different preparations of NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) whereas last night I was unable to find it at four different pharmacies and drug stores. Thank you, co-op friends!

We do most of our shopping here. Quality is great and staff is very helpful. Parking is free and easy. They have a huge bulk section.

Very nice grocery store, mostly specializes in healthy and vegan options. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings available if you want to sit down and snack on your purchases.

Fun selection of healthy, foreign, and unique snacks for foodies! The service was so amazing I had to leave a review. I can legitimately say this shop will be a re-visit anytime I'm in town.

I came for vacation from Chicago. This is 100 times better than any co-op we have here. I have to go to 5 stores to get 20% of what this place has.

For 3 days I ate like a king. I will be back someday. And I will NEVER forget the good memories. Still the best steak I have ever had in my life, by FAR. 10 Stars! 💚

I love my Co-op!! I've been shopping at the French Broad Food Coop since it was down by the river. They've just gotten better and better over the years. The prices are more than comparable to other natural food stores in the area. And I can shop with confidence knowing they are choosing suppliers, and growers with my values in mind. Great store with a lot of fresh, local, organic produce and meats. Large selection of health items, essential oils, body care products.

Love this place! A health lovers paradise. The bulk section is amazing for herbal medicine when you need it on the fly. Fresh local food, lots of holistic products and something for everyone’s dietary needs. I find myself stopping in here a few times a week. A huge part of that is the great location and parking that makes it easy to swing in on the way in and out downtown. One of my Asheville favorites!

Great store owned by the community. They have lots of healthy, organic options. The refrigerators have fresh fruit, meals, seasonal soups and vegetables from local farmers and companies. There is a section with health and gift products. It's great for basic needs. The cashier was very kind and polite.

Great place to shop for organic products. While traveling on a road trip we found this co-op. It offers the types of products we are used to purchasing at other natural foods stores. Good quality, friendly staff and good selection. The parking is a little sparse, but we were able to find a spot.
