French Broad Chocolate Lounge

Walking around town after a great dinner, we check out different shops looking for a cookie to take back to our hotel. It was our first time in Asheville visiting friends who moved here over a year ago. We knew the place would be great since there was a long line of people. I wish I felt like having hot chocolate as they looked delicious.

You are greeted with a wide selection of chocolates, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate. We walked out with a couple of large chocolate chunk cookies and enjoyed every bite!

Ice cream is amazing and then you try the chocolates...it sends you over the moon. But wait, desserts are ALL heaven. Thankful I had room in my belly to try several. I couldn't get enough. I highly recommend a visit and taste or three. Yum!

Chocolate was delectable, ice cream was decadent.. I'm glad it was a stop on our tasty bike tour!! Pleasant location alot to see while we enjoyed the treats!

What a delightful place. We had "lunch" here before a dinner out in the evening. The hot chocolate was delicious and the hot truffle drink looked yummy but my spouse would not share. There were all sorts of candies available for take home treats. I tried the chocolate chip cookie slice. I would not order it again because it was a bit stale tasting. However, I prefer a chewy cookie and perhaps this was intended not to be chewy. My spouse got the chocolate tart and was well pleased. There were many choices to be had. The cake option would be my selection for next time. Seating is plentiful, staff are particularly helpful.

Beautiful location right in the heart of Asheville downtown next to Pack Square park. Very charming look and feel and the service is efficient and friendly. A great place to get work done and socialize. Their hot chocolate was delicious!

They are open pretty late for a dessert shop and usually are very busy during the later hours. They are well structured and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable so things move pretty efficiently. The desserts are very tasty as well, and the coffee is good.

There are so many good desserts here! If you like chocolate, get the liquid truffle! It's small but very tasty.

Very cute place with lots of seating options. I loved the golden milk ice cream, seriously, I want more but I live 2+ hours away. Their chocolate bars are high quality and I also tried the rose cardamom bon bon which was good... But that ice cream!!

This place is amazing! Very busy on the weekend but worth it. If you love chocolate, tea, or ice cream this is the place to go. I got the liquid truffle and it was the perfect size cup of warm thick chocolate. I also got the triple chocolate mousse. It was heavenly. I'm very impressed.

We loved this place so much we stopped in twice. The ice cream was top quality. The Cubanos with cream and smoked salt on top were awesome! They had a huge selection of miniature chocolate truffles, as well as larger dessert slices to choose from. Plenty of lounge space and couches too. Highly recommend.

The quintessential cake was the most delicious chocolate cake I have ever had!!! My husband and I also tried their chocolate ice creams and were superb. We are from Florida and will definitely return next time we are traveling in that area.

I'm a huge foodie - especially when it comes to desserts. Of all the bakeries, chocalatiers, coffee and dessert shops I've been to - Chocolate Lounge absolutely blows them all out of the water. We had to make TWO visits there, and will be back every time we come to town. Each item has been carefully crafted - the flavors and textures painstakingly perfected.

The golden milk ice cream, salted caramel & chocolate tart, and salted caramel cake were particularly noteworthy. The cookie wedges were beyond any usual chocolate chip cookie, the texture was absolutely perfect - crispy outside but still retaining that chewy element we all love, with an elevated twist of cacao nibs that just worked so dang well.
Do yourself a favor and hit 'directions' on the google listing right now. You won't regret it.

We were so excited to see drinking chocolate on the menu, and we weren't disappointed!
My husband got the three layer mousse, and every layer was silky, creamy deliciousness. I got the panacotta. Great flavor, but I think it had a bit too much gelatin in the mix that day.

Reviewed as five stars six years ago, it still is! Been going a long time. Always a great late night treat. The chocolate mocha stout cake is my long time favorite. Always busy but always amazing. A chocolate lovers paradise.

I really like the golden milk ice cream made with turmeric and other spices, I highly recommend it. There are several options if you don't like ice cream, cookies, brownies and small truffle chocolates. There are some drink options as well.
The building is on a nice corner spot and has plenty of seating inside and out.

Creamy and rich hot chocolate, European style. (Here they call it Liquid Truffle) Absolutely excellent texture and flavor - both milk and dark chocolate. Has indoor and outdoor seating (some tables have an umbrella) and there are plenty of chocolate types and desserts to choose from, including ice cream.

You will do yourself a disservice if you don’t visit this establishment.

Worth the wait in line. Don’t let it deter you, it did move pretty fast. Got an assortment of items over $80 worth and loved every single bite.

Always a delight - every single item is delicious, rich and flavorful. Stop in and grab some boxed truffles if you don't have time to lounge. If you have time to lounge... do! Vegan options in addition to those celebrating the marriage of chocolate and dairy. ;)

This is a must visit when in Asheville! Great service and atmosphere and I'm not sure you can go wrong with anything on the menu. We shared the cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and salted caramel brownie.

French Broad Chocolate has a good selection of chocolate treats, not just bon bons. Their hot Chocolate is fantastic, and their hazelnut mousse was wonderful. I can't wait to go back!
