Moe's Original BBQ

Phenomenal food. Definitely the best BBQ in Asheville. So good that I ate here 3 times in a row. Everything from the pulled pork, the ribs, and the smoked chicken was absolutely delicious. The sides here are great as well, with an honorable mention to the cornbread and baked beans.

The thing that makes Moe’s exciting is the fact that they have daily side specials, and it makes you want to try something new. This is the type of place that makes me want to try their whole menu.

We usually get a platter and a sandwich plate, and it usually runs us around $30.

I was about to lose hope on ever finding a good BBQ place in Asheville, as I have been constantly disappointed at the restaurants that I’ve tried here; but this place is definitely our go-to.

Always AMAZING. If they ever have the jalapeño onion fries GET THEM! Best fries I've ever had! BBQ is always consistent and delicious!

Absolutely fantastic meal. The gentleman at the counter greeted us and was very friendly. We ordered the pulled pork platter and smoked chicken platter. Both were very good. The sides were delicious. We had the collard greens, Lima beans, baked beans, and potato salad. Laid back atmosphere, great music pouring out of the speakers, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

Three friends enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches with jalapeno fries, black eye pea salad, mac and cheese, and sweet potato casserole. All tasty food and very friendly staff.

It's a great place to go for barbecue. The ribs were fall-off the bone tender. The sides we got were very tasty. The prices are fair and our food came out promptly.

For the best ribs in Asheville, this is my go to place. Real southern barbecue, the most tender and always delicious with fantastic sides!

The food is always divine! I have never had a bad experience. This is hands down the best bbq spot in western North Carolina.

Not only is the food delicious but they have a large variety of food compared to other bbq restaurants in the area.

First of all the Skillet Cornbread is life affirming, it's the best bite of food I tasted here. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. Tried the ribs, smoked Turkey, pulled pork, smoked wings, baked beans, slaw, Mac n cheese, and green beans. The green beans were nothing special, tasted canned, buy the rest of the food was just perfect. Their house BBQ sauce is so yummy I wanted to pour it on everything. Tried the banana pudding was good too, but the Mississippi Mud Pie was even better. Will definitely be back.

Nice small spot with good food. I got the rib platter and they were tender and smoky. The fried corn was great and the Fonta Flora Marzen to wash it down. Yum!

Fried Catfish, Tartar Sauce. Garlic Cheese Mashed Potatoes, Cucumber Salad, and a HUGE Slab of Cornbread. Delicious!

Service was Fast AND Friendly, and we were served VERY quickly!

Got fried catfish again and it was very good. Had garlic mashed potatoes and squash casserole. They were also extremely, extremely, extremely busy when I went there on a Sunday afternoon around 12:45 p.m. 👍

My sister and brother-in-law had ribs and they said they were delicious, and I ordered catfish again and it was wonderful. I had potato salad as a side, and Mississippi Mud Pie as the dessert, and the dessert was very tasty. My sister and brother-in-law ate some of the catfish and said it was great. Good service, good food, just a little bit rustic on the atmosphere. Overall, I would definitely say four and a half stars, maybe 5. Great food!

The smoked wings were everything people told me they would be….amazing. I was super sad I didn’t have enough room to finish all my food, I really tried and will be paying for that decision on the long car ride home. Talk about a hidden gem, my food was delicious. My only regret is that I am just now eating here. This place will be my normal stop every time I am in the area. Everyone was nice, helpful and patient as I reviewed the menu. I also like the music vibe.

Popped in to Moe’s after taking a visit to the Biltmore Estate. We were looking for a lunch joint to get a good bite to eat before heading home. Something good, but not a chain. This place hit the spot. Fast service, friendly staff, and 10/10 southern BBQ. Self serve drinks, silverware, and clean up. Not many interactions with the staff, BUT they were still outstanding. We will definitely be back!

We stopped here on a whim and we were not disappointed. Some reviews said try the brisket and we did. We also did ribs. Let me start by saying, wow. This food was amazing. The brisket melted in your mouth and the sauces (BBQ & white) accented the flavor quite well. The ribs were tasty and came easily off the bone. The coleslaw was not your classic slaw, and was amazing. The baked beans were so tasty. The collards were perfect southern collards. The Mac n' cheese was about what you expect from a decent place. The platters came with a corn bread 🍞 that looked finished on a flat top and has flecks of jalapeño in them. The flavor and texture were perfect. Last was the banana pudding. Absolutely, one of the best desserts I have put in my mouth. I mean the vanilla and subtle banana flavor wells nothing short of perfect. Definitely a place worth trying and although a chain, the food was good home cooking!

This place represents the best of everything. Friendly staff who are very patient while you decide on your order. The place is clean so you are comfortable. The food is beyond amazing and offers the best potato salad with a tang and texture that is hard to beat, corn bread with the perfect amount of jalapeños and texture that just melted in your mouth and pulled pork. The pork had the perfect amount of smoke flavor and was moist. The sauce didn’t overpower the flavors so it blended well. They have a pretty extensive beer selection. I am very happy that we found this place!

We stumbled on Moe's BBQ by accident when our truck broke down and we coasted into the parking lot. We were both in need of a snack and a bathroom break. Not only was the cashier friendly, but so kind to our situation and made sure we were comfortable while we waited for AAA. The food was amazing! It was some of the best barbecue I've had. The sides were delicious as well. We will plan to eat at Moe's again the next time we're in Asheville.

Wow! Best ribs we’ve had- came here with a large group and we all enjoyed the great flavors!!! Adults and kids both ate the ribs, brisket, wings, pulled pork, and the sides.

Moe's BBQ is delish! The smoked meat is tender, sauces flavourful, and the service great! Order was quick to come out. It was clean inside, parking was easy.
Would recommend Moe's to anybody who loves good tender BBQ!

Truly amazing local BBQ & incredible sides. The regular menu is awesome, but they also have specials which are often even better. They have parking, but it can be tight in peak times.

I consider myself a BBQ fanatic and have grown up on a mix of Alabama style and Eastern NC style having family in both areas. I had kind of lost hope for great BBQ in Western NC until I recently tried Moe’s. From the pork to the sides to the sauces and sweet tea these guys really nailed it! It was so refreshing finally running into a delicious BBQ spot not too far from home.

So I tried Moe's today. The barbecue is better than most. I would have gave it five stars on the food but I really don't like a sweet cornbread and they're slaw in my opinion wasn't that good. That being said this law wasn't bad it's just different. Main reason we went there is because of parking if you try to find parking downtown Asheville you'll know why we went to Moe's and did not regret it in the least.
