Mast General Store Asheville

This is the best store ever! It has all my favorite clothing lines and shoes! It just seems to be the perfect match for everything I need! We visit MGS in every city we travel to. Everyone should go take a look! Candy too!

Large selection of items in a friendly atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and greeted each person that walked by them. It is a two story store with a large variety of clothing in the front. There are small gifts scattered throughout and a candy and toy section in the back for the kids. This is a great place to pick up a gift for yourself or someone back home.

Such a nice place to find any souvenirs, postcards, etc. They have many outdoor gear, clothing and different things for everybody. There’s two levels at this store. Prices were reasonable.

Fun store to browse and shop. If you like candy, there's a large variety in back of store. Nice selection of outdoor clothing and small area of backpacks and camping accessories. Novelty household items and kids games. Friendly staff.

Always a good time going into a Mast General store. My kids always find books, toys and obviously candy from the candy barrels. I always enjoy the home section that has random kitchen tools and supplies. It’s a fun little store that has a little bit of everything.

We have been to several of The Mast General Stores, and this one did not disappoint us. They have unique products and things that you can remember from your childhood. We never leave without a candy or souvenir and don't regret that at all.

A great store that offers a throw back in time and modern clothing and apparel. Bought some camping gear for a reasonable price. This is my third visit in 1.5 yrs visiting Ashville. Great place to visit and get apple butter fresh!

Awesome store with an overwhelming selection of goods and novelties...AND it's dog friendly!!!! We visited a couple weeks ago and EVERYONE working here was helpful and kind, I cannot express how welcomed our pup felt. She is a very shy rescue and she was met with so much positive attention and treats. Thank you to the entire staff you made out visit a great one!

Mast General Store immediately reminded me of an old flour mill general store that I used to go to as a child in the mountains of southern Oregon. It's quaint but also has surprisingly useful products. This place has something for everyone, a candy section that would make every inner child leap for joy. An impressive knife selection on the lower level and their local teas and Honey's are an immediate yes from me. My hubby found a hat and stickers for his travel collections. We both left happy campers.

wow. have no received this level of quality service in what seems like a lifetime. Ordered one small $8 laundry sign and everything from the customer service to the beautiful packaging and thank you card and closed we're so impressive I would use them again in a heartbeat, and WILL!

Such a interesting place to find blasts from the past. Lots of local goods. A must see.

Asheville is a hub of activity in Western North Carolina. In 1999, the old Fain's Department Store on Biltmore Avenue joined the Mast Store Family as the outpost in Asheville. Located just off Pack Square, one of the city's oldest sectors, the building dates back to the 1940s and holds many endearing memories for residents of Asheville.
The store was originally opened in Valle Crusis which means Valley of the cross. The store has a variety of things. From sweaters to candy to iron pans. They say if you can’t find it at the Mast General store you don’t need it! A definite stop and shop on the Asheville tour.

Mast stores are great in general, and the Asheville location follows suit. Lots of quality outdoor products including apparel, packs, shoes, and equipment. They've also got great snacks and some fun household items. To top it all off: they're dog friendly! Mast is awesome.

My wife has never been to a Mast General Store and she was amazed. I didn't even realize Asheville had one! So glad we discovered this while walking around downtown. Can't wait to go back!

Great stop on my way to the airport this past week. Picked up some additional souvenirs, but could have spent hours in there. I didn't even get to go downstairs! One thing I'm very happy to have stumbled upon is the espresso caramels! Yum!

I really enjoyed this visit. The staff was so helpful and responsive I felt like a celebrity. The store was well stocked and organized so I was able to buy what I needed quickly. I will be back
