Great place to grab a quick bite to eat and the food we ordered was good. It’s like upscale bar food. The menu had great choices across the board. The brick oven pizza was wonderful and the Prohibition Pot Roast was amazing! The crème brute cheesecake was to die for! Situated downtown in a very cool building. Lots of beer and drink choices. They even have non alcoholic beer!

Our first time here and we have only great things to say!! From our on tap stout and cocktail while waiting for our table to our amazing meal and lovely waitress, we were impressed! Pot roast and brisket and Mac were well prepared and delightfully tasty!! Next time we visit Asheville, we will come back to Pack’s!

Huge space with a really warm, cozy, old-school pub atmosphere. Food was phenomenal. Fried green tomatoes were definitely worth it, perfectly fried with a really amazing savory-sweet sauce. Beef stroganoff was out of this world, perfect portion size and just loaded with flavor. Really wanted dessert afterward but was just too full! My only complaint was that the pretzels (pretzel/beer cheese appetizer) were just okay. Felt like any other pretzel I've had before, nothing special. But everything else was definitely special.
Also for those who care, they actually have a sign saying when their beer tap lines were last cleaned. So that's cool too.

From the food to the service, price and cocktails just outstanding. We ordered the prohibition pot roast, brisket M&C, corn dip and old fashioned. Delicious!

This was my first time in Asheville and after a 7-hour drive I was pleasantly surprised with some really good food that made the entire drive worth it! The hotel staff recommended that I give this place a try and it was simply amazing!

I started with the deviled eggs and the flavor today was Caesar salad and they were to die for. I also had an old fashioned that came with a brown sugar rim. I would highly recommend that you try this drink.

For my entree I got the bison meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. The meatloaf was absolutely phenomenal, and I'm sorry Grandma but they just cooked you out of the kitchen! I also have to mention the gravy on the potatoes as it was pretty amazing also. So good that I would actually eat this gravy off the floor.

I will definitely be back before I leave for home to try something else off the menu.

Went late on a Saturday night, and didn't have a super long wait. Even with our waitress being newer, she was excellent and was willing to help us pick out our meal. The pot roast is absolutely delicious, and tastes like someone's grandma had been cooking it all day! Definitely going back soon!

When you have the confidence to serve your brisket with a spoon, you KNOW what you're serving and how you're serving it. This was our first meal upon arriving in Ashville. Pack's has the location, the atmosphere, and the food. They have an almost unfair advantage, but they are at least utilizing it to the fullest. I had the brisket mac, I spent most of my time just salivating with it in my mouth with a stupid grin on my face. My wife had a burger, she asked for medium well and she got medium well. The outdoor dining space was just as exciting as the indoor space. The host private events, they have a stone pizza oven, and the drinks were also top notch. My compliments to the chef. They also serve a house made Root Beer, weirdly enough I am a fan of custom brewed root beers and cream sodas and this one wasn't half bad, on the sweet side. The service is the only thing that could use some honing. The server staff was completely average. Hospitable enough, just nothing to brag about. We had two meals here over our 5 days, and the server forgot to put in my appetizer, they opted to let me have it with my dinner or cancel it. They made little effort to rectify the mistake, the only notable part of the experience was that I didn't find out about the mistake until roughly a minute before my actual meal arrived. Overall still a great experience and worth a visit if you are in the area.

Loved my Pack’s Tavern experience! The hosts were helpful with my parking questions and that made a great impression on me. I sat at the bar and enjoyed excellent service and outstanding food! I had a draft root beer, Prohibition Pot Roast, and warmed chocolate cake that was to die for!

Delicious! Only waited about 15 minutes to sit down for dinner. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly after a long night. We had the buffalo chicken dip (highly recommend), the brisket Mac n cheese, and the pot roast which were all very tasty. We will definitely be back here if we are in Asheville again!

What a rare gem located in the heart of downtown Ashville. From the vintage wood floors to the old-fashioned bar, everything was amazing. The appetizers were fabulous, and our main courses did not disappoint either. Our absolute favorites were the fried green tomatoes. When we return, they will definitely see us for another round.

Won't find better buttermilk chicken tenders than this. Sandwiches were excellent. However, the mac n cheese was very bland- and I detected too much roux in the cheese sauce. Hot sauce and local beer choices made the day.

We went bar hopping and I personally did not eat at this location so I cannot speak on the quality of the food. However the beer was great and had a nice atmosphere. Five Stars for the beers and memories. 👍🏼The yellow truck out front with the keg in the back is really neat. It’s marked “Juice Box” near the tail end. I found that quite clever. Good place to stop by while bar hopping.

I've lived here almost six years and never found my way to Packs Tavern until I went with some out-of-town friends. Oh my god... what have I been missing?? If you look up Tavern in the dictionary, I think you'll find a picture of Packs. It is all things tavern. Comfort foods (pot roast, bison meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy) to burgers and sandwiches. Deviled eggs in a variety of flavors and a wide array of local beer with rotating taps plus a full bar with fully capable bartenders. The kitchen knows what they are doing as well. Packs is located just off the Park
on the south side next to the police station. It's a little out of the way from the center of downtown visually but easily walkable from that area. The place is sizable with two bars, but it feels small and neighborhood cozy. Packs is an Asheville must.

Not a bad spot for happy hour. Great service and pretty nice interior. Very casual and comfortable after a long day of traveling and exploring for us. Loved the Mexican corn dip and the deviled eggs. Sounds like they have weekly specials with their deviled eggs and this week was a green eggs and ham theme. They were phenomenal. Would one hundred percent recommend going just for those honestly.

Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and we were comfortable with the indoor seating options.

Great food. The beef stroganoff was amazing and my partner really enjoyed the fish and chips. Our server was amazing and timely with everything. He gave us the best service I have ever had even with the place as busy as it was. Will definitely be coming back when we visit Asheville again.

We celebrated a friend's birthday with a nice lunch, followed by a piece of peanut butter pie, which my friend said was "stupid good!" The vibe is really cool, with a post-prohibition theme including the model A pickup truck parked in front. Great menu and service. I had the Reuben, friends had the smash burger and broccoli soup. It was all delish!

Best food I've had in a while. The wait was short, the service was good, and the food was perfect. The only regret I have is sharing the beef brisket with my husband! The mac and cheese was sooooo creamy.

The service was AMAZING. Our server anticipated every need we could possibly have before we even had to ask. And the food! It was so good! Highly recommended the fried pickles! I got the BBQ burger and it was fantastic! I got 2 rounds of the blackberry wheat beer and it was a perfect compliment to my meal. This is our 1st trip to Asheville and Pack's Tavern and we have loved absolutely everything about this trip. We can't wait to come back.

We sat outside in July Overlooking the fountain with a beautiful breeze for lunch.
Hubs had the pineapple pizza and I have the half Ruben with a Ceasars salad. Everything was on point. Flavorful and perfect portions. We added a side of fries which were amazing.
He had a IPA beer that was citric in flavor, while I tried the special margarita - Excellent on both counts.
Waitress was attentive but not hovering. Well done.
