Asheville Wine Market

Just walked by this wine market, the sales person was so nice , the wine selection are amazing, all kinds of wine with difference tags on to clarify all the wines, it’s so helpful for people who can compare with. Another good thing is they offer free parking in such busy downtown areas.

Great hidden gem right in downtown Asheville! I stopped by here on Christmas Eve day before heading out of town- so glad they were open, needed a last minute bubbly for myself and sweet red for my coworker's hosting the next day. I walked in around 2pm and received a friendly greeting from both guys behind the counter and spent a few minutes perusing the entire store. It's so much more spacious than it looks from the outside and is split up by regions, and in the back there is a case of wines on tap, which reminds me of one of my favorite places back in Phoenix where I first saw something like that- Winston Salem Wine Market has the same feature as well! I wish I had had time to try a few samples, but now I know about it for next time! I will absolutely return here next time I visit. I ended up finding a great chilled sparkling wine and I found a sweet red for my Christmas dinner. So glad I found this spot!

I was visiting Asheville for a friend’s birthday weekend and wanted to get some champagne for her. We were staying downtown and needed to find a wine shop close by and we found Asheville Wine Market. The staff was super helpful and attentive. We purchased a lovely bottle of champagne and they also offered to chill it for us, since we mentioned that we were planning to have it that evening. Dogs are also welcome in the store. Which was amazing b/c we were traveling with our pup and with the weather really hot that weekend it was nice to cool off. The next day we returned to get more wine, and beverages for the lake house we were heading out to. Our friends definitely stocked up for the weekend. The selection of wines are fabulous, making it more economical to buy in town vs having wine shipped. FYI our friends were flew in from CA. Store is well kept. Inventory was adequate. Staff was very pleasant to communicate with and to do business with. I would definitely recommend this wine store. Much better than the one on Charlotte Street.

Sadly, I had to miss my best friends 30th birthday trip to Asheville. I wanted to do something special for her and send a celebratory gift. Naturally champagne seemed appropriate! Once I called Asheville Wine and explained the situation, the staff was beyond helpful. They selected a champagne and a rose for me, gift wrapped them, enclosed a note, and delivered them to my friend. Asheville Wine went above and beyond and helped make a memorable birthday for my friend. Thank you!

An excellent selection of fun and unique wines. They really have a wide variety of wines for every taste. Some of the more unique wines include smaller producers from lesser known regions.

When you travel you have to be aware of the liquor laws. Well in NC it's not one shop has it all, therefore many stores that have wine have very limited selections.. no so with Asheville wine granted its not your big box super store like in CO or other but it has an amazing selection and very knowledgeable caring staff. The people make any business and the people are superior.

Love the new ownership. Owner (Larry) made my wife and I feel at home as we attended their Saturday afternoon tasting. Also, the mechanized wine dispenser is a joy and great opportunity to sampling many varieties.

Very wide selection, a free tasting from 2-5, and a very knowledgeable staff. It was nice that they had the self serve wine dispenser by the glass. Would definitely visit again.

I think this store is a true treasure for a city the size of Asheville. Not only do they have a very large and varied wine selection, and uniformly knowledgable and helpful employees to assist customers in finding the right choice, but there is a surprisingly great selection of cheeses and other goodies in the rear of the store that is priced very competitively, and more often than not, more cheaply than other stores in town.

I have been a customer for more than 8 years and at one point, took advantage of their rental storage space for my wine library. I loved this store when Eberhard Heide ran it and still do since Larry took over.

Amazing wine shop! They had a free wine tasting with affordable wines and the staff was incredible. We just dropped in randomly and ended up leaving with 3 wonderful bottles of wine.

The proprieter knew his wine and was able to recommend superior choices to our mass-market wine, namely; barefoot chardonnay and J. Lohr cabernet. Unfortunately, I don't remember his recommendations, but you can stop by and discover for your self.
