Amazing meal. Excellent service. Beautiful atmosphere. The grit cakes were a new taste I'd never had and very good. The pork chop was melt in your mouth like butter delish!

If you're looking for an upscale local hideout this is it. The menu, staff, and location are incredible. Whether you are driving through Asheville, or a new neighbor, you must treat yourself to a meal. Pictured are the carrot cake, the shrimp and fried okra gumbo, the lamb ribs and the fried grits with an incredible pepper jam. I greatly look forward to returning. My friend ordered the pancakes and they were so good. They really put the cake in pancakes as they were pastry thick.

Benne On Eagle was such a great experience. The food and drinks were exceptional and service was very attentive. I can’t remember the name of the server but her and the trainee were so welcoming and helpful. Can’t wait to visit Asheville again to come back!

Wow what an amazing experience. The customer service, the food, the culture, THE experience. Me and my friend drove to Asheville, NC from Charlotte,NC and stumbled upon place on TikTok in route. The reviews did not disappoint. We went for brunch our pictures are posted above. We had the honor of learning about Benne(a seed) and the culture that arises from its rich African American roots. Emily the manager of food and beverage personally gave us so much history on this establishment. I will say it’s amazing. Highly recommend 10/10. A must while in Asheville, NC.

My friend and I were visiting Asheville for the weekend, and stopping in on our last day. I'm glad we did, because the food was amazing (the granola on the yogurt bowl?? I want a bag of it), everyone was friendly and extremely accommodating. Even without a reservation the staff was kind and helped us get seated quickly. Leah was our server, and she was lovely. She helped us decide what to get, and her recommendations were great!

Highly recommend Benne on Eagle (make a reservation ahead of time, or call to get on the waitlist!)

Sunday brunch was amazing! Flavorful and beautiful. Atmosphere was relaxed. Leah was our incredible server - even brought our pup water. Bloodys were on point (homemade) which is hard to find! 10/10, everything we could have hoped for! Also you can valet at the foundry and it’s in the courtyard!

Hands down one of the best restaurants in Asheville!!!! I looooved everything. I went for breakfast and HAD to turn back to come for DINNER!!!!

I had chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits (best shrimp ever) and oxtail with brocolini. EXCEPTIONAL!

One of the first times dined in a restaurant since start of covid-19, and felt quite satisfied with the safety arrangements and the outdoor patio seating. The food was a delight, and particularly loved the oxtail with rice (shown in photo), and the hummingbird cake. Will love to be back!

Update: Had a fabulous experience returning after 3 years, for my birthday. This is a wonderful place to experience the African American influences on Appalachian cuisine.

My boyfriend and I recently had an unforgettable 5th-anniversary dinner here! McKay and Jess provided outstanding service for us throughout the evening. The food was delicious - we ordered the hush puppies, stuffed quail, steak and frites, and maple sweet potato cheesecake.

This restaurant made our celebration truly special - it's a place we'll cherish for years to come! Thank you again Mckay and Jess. We really appreciate the hardworking staff at Benne On Eagle!

For whatever reason, in all the searching we did for our trip to Asheville, this spot never popped up on any suggestions. Well, shame on whoever is making the lists. We wound up having the best meal here that we had in town all week. We were a walk-in, but got seated promptly. Our server was great and very knowledgeable. We split an appetizer and an entrée, as we'd been snacking throughout the day. We started with the braised bacon. Real tender pork belly, we really enjoyed it. Then to the dueling quail, the showstopper. This dish was exquisitely cooked and beautifully plated. Every component is just well thought out. The spoonbread, that gumbo is bangin, and the quail was cooked to perfection. Just watching Chef's line do their thing, and the communication between all of them, you could tell they have fun and enjoy what they do. Bravo BOH, yall killed it 👏

Our server Keegan was outstanding. She took our order without missing any of our details and ensure our food was brought back us quickly. The food was amazing so much in fact we had breakfast there our second morning without hesitation.

Unbelievable service! So kind and fun and accommodating. Truly had our whole group smiling the whole time we were there! They went the extra mile to bring us a fabulous brunch. Our waiter was Keith- so cool and nice! And Chef Max had the BEST vibe and made my son a special order… really appreciated the special touches! Everyone was fabulous! Will go back!

Benne on Eagle was a big score for us! We came for breakfast (more like brunch) twice. We missed the dinner menu because we were there on Sunday & Monday nights - their two closed nights. But our two dining experiences was enough to keep Benne top of our list to come back for more.
The shrimp and grits were amazing, as were the chicken & waffles (amazing flavors), fruit & yogurt, blueberry mascarpone pancakes.
Service was extremely friendly. Brought smiles and good feels!
Can’t wait to come here again on our next adventure to Asheville!

How is there not a line out the door for a table to brunch at this spot? We tried all the places people recommended but THIS SPOT knocked them all out of the park. The best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had and excellent shrimp and grits. My husbands poached eggs were perfect and his peanut butter whiskey drink was also his favorite ever. We wish we lived here so we could come back more.

What an incredible place! The interior design and architecture are what initially drew my attention. I had wanted to visit for some time. So grateful to have gotten the opportunity today. The meal was amazing - pork chop for my wife and Icelandic cod for me. Our waitress - Keagan - went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.

Unbelievable breakfast at Benne on Eagle, can't imagine what dinner is like if breakfast is this good! Cocktails were phenomenal, the steak and eggs/chicken and waffles had us feeling euphoric and the grits were the best my partner and I have ever had. We would both fly back to Asheville for the grits alone, never mind the rest of the top notch experience! Looking forward to our next experience here, can't sing this spot's praises enough!

We had dinner and celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. The staff we so friendly. They even gave us complimentary champagne. The food was delicious. If we ever back in the area, we definitely will go again.

One of the few if not only upscale dining options for breakfast. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my friends had the traditional bacon and eggs. Loved it!
