La Cantera Golf Club

I didn't stay at the hotel. Just came into town for a few days and played La Cantera as one of my golf course selections. With as dry as things have been in the area, the maintenance has done a great job. Fairways were in nice shape. I did feel like a lot of the tee boxes the ball was slightly above your feet. Not a big deal for the most part but you know how golf can get mentally. Lol... Juan and the rest of the staff inside the pro shop were very friendly and fantastic. Really enjoyed the people and the course. Nice job La Cantera ! ⛳🏌

I have played over a dozen Golf courses in the San Antonio area since I moved here from the Midwest last year. From the Hyatt to privat clubs north of San Antonio. La Cantera is by far my go to. From the staff to the facilities and course I don’t think it can be beat.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting LaCantera Golf Club and Resort, and let me tell you, it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, Director Aaron and T-Rex went above and beyond to ensure my visit was nothing short of amazing.

First and foremost, the course itself is a true masterpiece. Nestled in the breathtaking Texas Hill Country, the views from every hole were simply awe-inspiring. The lush green fairways, meticulously manicured greens, and stunning natural surroundings make it impossible not to fall in love with this place. It truly is a golfer's paradise.

But what truly sets LaCantera Golf Club and Resort apart is the incredible hospitality and warmth extended by Director Aaron and T-Rex. Their attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and genuine care for their guests' experiences were second to none. They made me feel like a VIP, ensuring every aspect of my visit was flawless.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention my fellow tee time mates, TJ Ford and Floyd. They added an extra layer of enjoyment to the day, bringing their contagious energy and love for the game. It's in moments like these that you realize golf is not just a sport but a means to create lasting connections and memories.

Three of my golf buddies made the trip down to San Antonio for a golf weekend. I had played La Cantera previously a few years back and recommended we try it again. My friends and I could not have been more pleased. From the incredible topography changes, great views, to beautiful conditions of the course, friendly staff...all in all outstanding. We'll def be back! Kudos La Cantera!

I played 0ct 14th 2022, and was a little worried based on the other reviews. I got a great deal online and went ahead and booked it. I was very pleased. The course was in great shape. Such a fun track, and everything was top notch. From the service, to the actual course. Would definitely suggest playing here. You can tell a little difference of color in the new grass on the greens, but it did not effect anything.

We had a GREAT trip staying at the resort and playing golf at this beautiful place! We are by no means seasoned golf players, but we sure had fun. The most friendly employees, beautiful grounds with views, and loved the golf carts with the info screens. Such a fun time for my husband and I!

5 star experience! As someone who's never played a "fancy course" this place was top notch. They loaded our golf clubs into the cart, loaded a cooler with Ice and waters for us, provided "mango towels" (fancy wet towels to wipe your sweat). Fairways we're in great shape but some greens approximately 3 k4 we're almost unplayable due to the sod being all patched up and messing with putts ( which they did disclose when we payed). Never once felt judge for not being dressed fancy or in super nice gold attire and was treated like royalty by all staff. Course is very expensive but for a once in a lifetime experience it's totally worth it. Me and my son (who's 11) had a blast with the craziest scenic views on holes you'd ever see.

Restaurant well run for lunch. Decent food and terrific service. Our server, Madison, made the food taste better by taking great care of us -- always cheerful and accommodating without bugging us.

Difficult but beautiful course, kind of hard to find once you turn off main road. Service was impeccable and the club house was great!

Staff was super helpful and friendly. Course is fun and in good shape. Couple of greens with spots but otherwise conditions were excellent.

Would play again!

The Resort course at la cantera is the nicest course in San Antonio. Super nice grass, very well cut. Tight fairways and well kept greens (when not aerated) reward playing smart golf. The Greens are challenging in a way that few other SA courses can offer. Tougher reads, faster roll out, creative hole locations all lead to a fun challenge at the end of each hole. The Price is steep if you’re playing at full price but if you can find a hot deal on golf now it’s absolutely worth it. Do yourself a favor and play here

The friendliest staff I've ever met on a golf course. We were treated like VIPs. The course is challenging and fun. Great views and elevation changes. Greens were great.

Course was in great condition. Watch out - greens are fast! Great view from 7th tee boxes! Even if you don’t play from the tips - well worth the steps up there to take in the amazing view! The staff was excellent - everyone was helpful and nice. One of the Pro Shop folks drove by us on the course just to make sure we were having a good time and to see if we needed anything. I also have to say that the dining experience at their 19th Hole (I think it’s called the 542) - was above par! The food was the best we’ve ever had at a golf course grill and bar. Overall - one of the best golf experiences in the Lone Star State! Highly recommend!

Beautiful location, great course, and amazing food. We had the breakfast burrito before our tee time and it was really good. After finishing our 18 holes we cane back and had lunch. I'll tell you now, you have to try the bacon burger, probably the best burger I've had in my life. You'll love this place!!

At at Grill 254 after playing a round at the Palmer course next door. Wife had the ribs, loved them and I had the half chicken (healthy mode). Food excellent, wide selection of TX craft beers. Super nice staff and if you are there around 9pm you have the best seat in the house for the fireworks display.

Nice, for around bar area looks like a putting green and plenty of big screens.

After playing course hands down the best course in San ANTONIO . A challenging course.very professional top knotch service. Set tee time get there early hit at the range balls, dial in your swing and have fun. After 9 holes hit the grill recharge hit the back 9. You will not be disappointed
