Cozy bar, very friendly atmosphere and a good selection of drinks.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, they recommended different beers and wines. Their cocktails selection is limited, buy they will try to help you out. If you want something that they just don't have they will suggest something similar. Also we had a small bite/snack and it was delicious 😋🤤
Will go back again whenever/if I am in the area.

My chowder and Cob salad was absolutely delicious and the waitress during the day is hardworking and very sweet. I’m just a passer by, but will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

I've been here twice now, once for drinks and apps, and once for brunch. The food is excellent and the servers are all very friendly. The lamb meatballs are amazing.
Planning to get there for the live music on Thursdays soon.

-Opened a few months ago- I went around 2p and got the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, fantastic! The prices & food are are on point. The staff are all super nice. Menus for both lunch & dinner are simple (1page). But yet there's something for everyone. They have a full bar. Even at 2p you could feel that this place is alive. Jeff the bartender was terrific. Very thoughtful and super helpful going over the menu with us. He pours a fabulous drink - Mai Tai, Blood Orange Cosmo and habanero margarita.

Delicious food, excellent staff, and an warm contemporary atmosphere at this new Dedham restaurant! My partner and I have been so impressed with the food and service that I had to write a review. We've had the cod with leeks and mushrooms and salmon with honey mustard and fennel - in both cases the fish was perfectly seasoned and prepared and the accompaniments where unique and so good! We've also tried the grilled steak and the flavorful chicken tagine that tastes like it's been simmered all day. Grilled shrimp app has an amazing citrus sauce and you will want to savor every drop of the broth that comes with the mussels! Can you tell I love this place?

Love this swanky new neighborhood joint in the heart of historic Dedham village. I didn’t know about the horse thieves association until now and how important it was during Dedham’s early days as an agricultural economic center for Boston. (They would protect the horsesLol from getting stolen.) Dedham is a little-known yet important part of American history. We have the first public school in America and the oldest standing house (Fairbanks house). This place does Dedham and atmosphere and food right - suggest trying the fried cauliflower and the shrimp appetizer - both are extremely good 😋🥰

We went to the legacy mall to shop and because we couldn’t get a table at any of the mall’s restaurants, we ended up here. That was lucky for us! Food was tasty, and there was a good choice of beers. Servers were friendly, polite and attentive. All and all, a pleasant discovery!

My friend and I LOVED this place! The food was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Delicious and not a clip. Jeff, the bartender was a delight. I can’t wait to go again. *Would love to be there with a crowd.

What a wonderful experience!

The staff is warm, friendly, and provides quick and accurate service. The food was warm, filling and delicious! The French fries are fantastic.

The atmosphere is great, no matter what time you go. The meatloaf sandwich was good, and their impossible burger is a million times better than Burger Kings.

There is no horsing around about this place, it's the best!

Outdoor dining was nice. It rained just a little bit and we were offered indoor seating. It wasn't necessary. But a kind offer. Food (burgers, cob salad, salmon and brussel sprouts were enjoyed by all diners. The service was great. Meal was followed by a rainbow off in the distance.

At the very beginning of dinner time on a Thursday, it was very quiet. The drinks were just right - not too strong, but they didn't slack either. The German sausage appetizer was superb, and then my steak entree was divine. Our server was delightful, and the dishes came out quickly. I will go back at the first opportunity I get!

Had my first experience at Horse Thieves Tavern this week and really enjoyed our experience! Has a really nice atmosphere and cool decor. I tried the blue French 75 cocktail and it was delicious. We started with the skillet cornbread appetizer and wow the maple butter is to die for! We got the the steak with arugula and the cod in a corn cream sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly and the arugula salad was dressed just the right amount, very delicious. The cod was amazing as well and had fantastic flavors. Very impressed with our visit and will definitely be coming back!

Excellent new place. The "Tavern" title is more about the rustic atmosphere than the kind of place this is. Not a "bar food" operation. There is a chef quality contemporary menu. Have a casual sandwich or a full dinner, salads or appetizers it's all here. Oh and a full bar including designer cocktails. This could be your favorite local place to hangout.

Just came from the most delicious dinner here. Truly, we were ALL impressed. I had the Soup of the Day as a a starter; New England Clam Chowder. It was perfectly seasoned with big chunks of potato and fresh clams and a hunk of fresh, lightly toasted bread in lieu of crackers. A perfect compliment. We all enjoyed drinks before dinner as well. Blood Orange Cosmopolitan for myself, a cocktail called "Smoke and Fire" for my oldest son. The name perfectly describes the flavor a mix of Mezcal, lime, sirracha, and ginger beer. My husband and younger son each enjoyed a beer and both ended up falling in love with a local brew from Jack's Abby which our server shared was very popular. She had visited the brewery herself and was enthusiastic about the different beers. The cocktails - and soup - set us up perfectly for our meals.

Our dinners were prepared with care and each was excellent. All had a "Farm-to-table" or locally sourced flavor although nothing was advertised as such. It is clear they use fresh, quality ingredients. My husband had baked cod and younger son ordered fish and chips. Both meals were delicious and well complimented with the sides. My meal of meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans was amazing. I was raving about the green beans from the first bite. Finally, my older son had ordered Shepherd's Pie with lamb. Again, perfectly seasoned, fresh vegetables and all portions were generous without being overwhelming. Our server generously treated my son to a free dessert to compensate for the late delivery of his meal; an old-fashioned courtesy too often ignored in most restaurants these days.

As we left, (we dined early, around 5:30 or so) it appeared to be full with a fairly diverse and If we did live 6+ hours away though, you can be sure we would be regulars! If you haven't yet eaten there, make the time to. Absolutely, utterly worth it!

One of the few family pubs in Dedham with outdoor seating dining. Great place to bring the kids for a family meal. Delicious healthy comfort food and selection of micro brews with the cacophony of the Yard House in Legacy Place.

Had the best waiter EVER!!! Drinks were lovely!! The place was so comfortable and chill. Great to bring the whole family including kids!

I've been dining regularly at Horse Thieves for over 2 years now- love the evening vibe. Great cocktails, hearty food menu and is great for all occasions whether it be date night or a family outing.

Great food, although the menu could be larger. Service is good, alcohol is good, and I enjoy the fact that it's not very kid-friendly, although I understand that will be a negative for some. I've been a few times at this point and will definitely keep coming back.
