Really enjoyed my stay! Would definitely book again!

I had an issue with my room key. Front desk gave me a new key, but also sent maintenance up just to make sure it wasn’t the hard ware (it was). The maintenance guy came right away and he was so nice!

Really neat hotel. Can see the old touches of what the building use to be back in the day. Every room has a fully stocked kitchenette with a full fridge, stovetop, dishwasher, sink and all the dishes, coffee pot and toaster. Close to everything in canal park and walking distance to the DECC. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool was closed due to remodeling. Can't wait to see it open back up. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 4 nights Thursday to Sunday inclusive in mid August 2022. As usual the room was clean and ready for us when we checked in at 2pm. The Front desk person( AGM Travis) was very helpful and gave us clear instructions on housekeeping and who to contact if we needed anything as far as towels and room supplies. We took advantage of this and received exactly what we asked for in a timely manner. Having the working Fridge and stove is a real boon for us as we cannot always return to the Hotel when local dining places are open. Nice to have some groceries laid away.
We have already booked for next year and also plan to stay some time this fall.
Covid did a number on many hotels all over the country and the problems continue so it is nice to see an establishment surviving and coping as best they can. ;-)

Have stayed multiple times on business, great stay every time. Perfect location in Canal park and unique historic building converted to hotel. Will be back!

Our car battery died overnight in the hotel lot and staff was eager to help. In addition, I'd left a favorite sweatshirt behind which they promptly returned. Thank you to the staff of The Suites!

Thoroughly enjoyed another annual break from winter at the Suites! I was greeted by name (great customer service), and happy to see all areas open and busy in their lovely lobby area. Had a couple of maintenance concerns in my room, which were promptly taken care of in a very courteous manner. My room was quiet and relaxing all weekend - even though the hotel seemed full. Appreciated the extra security with the elevator bank, and monitoring of guest parking in busy Canal Park. And extra thanks to Melanie, Travis, and Christina...friendly, gracious, professional service from all.

From the minute we arrived our stay was awesome. We've lost track of how often we've stayed here over the years. Considering the challenges of Covid, The Suites has done everything humanly possible to maintain all aspects pertaining to cleanliness and staffing. Most notable to us was the limitless willingness to provide any and all amenities we needed. The exceptional communications with Travis, AGM and every staff member we encountered, sets this hotel apart in my opinion. We've booked our next holiday here in 2023 and are confident our stay will be every bit as enjoyable! I do hope the staff is consulted with on all aspects of the upcoming renovation as they certainly are the gems of resource any employer could only wish for.

It was very nice old building right on the waterfront. The room was good and comfortable. It was handicap accessible and most important it was dog friendly.

Edited: the rates have increased a lot since covid. The rooms may need some updating but I love that It has a ton of character. I love how many options it has for room sizes. From a normal room to a 1 bedroom all the way up to a 3 bedroom condo. Kitchenette in every room. The staff is always great. And they allow big dogs, which is great in this very pet friendly city.

Our room was very large and spacious with high ceilings, it had a kitchenette complete with dinner wear, cooking utensils and pretty much anything you'd need to prepare a basic meal if you wanted. The bed was very comfortable and had extra bedding. The hotel is connected to a great bar and brewery. It's location is great and walking distance of anything you'd like to see in Canal Park. We will definitely stay again when we are in town!

I absolutely LOVED the industrial chic style! The old feel off the building was there, but the modern renovations had it feeling like we're were staying in a Manhattan studio apartment. There was a cute retro kitchen, complete with stove, fridge and dishwasher. Even though our room didn't have windows, it didn't feel cramped like some hotels do. And I was still able to remote start my car from the stairway since there is a good sized parking lot next to the hotel for guests!
One more thing to add is that the staff was all very nice and even when we did have a small little issue they made us feel like it was a big deal and went out of there way to fix it for us! We appreciate that kind of service (:
Highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed here in a last minute get away after closing our summer resort. We loved this hotel. Large rooms in a quaint hotel. After reading other reviews and owning a resort we realize that people read what they want to read, insist they were told things they weren't, and want everything for nothing. You'll never please everyone and we are in an age now where the first thing people do is hop on social media including review sites and crab about everything they feel entitled to. If you don't mind an older building with a lot of charm, this is the hotel. They tell you at the front desk that the inner rooms do not have windows. We're OK with that. Maybe the decor is older but if there was brand new everything, no one could afford it. Our room had a microwave, refrigerator, kitchenette, more included than any other hotel. I would highly recommend it.

The Suites Hotel is an interesting property. You can't beat the location. It is a converted industrial building of some sort and they have done a decent job. We had a two-room suite/apartment that was very clean and comfortable. I'd recommend calling the hotel directly for reservations and trying to get a room numbered in the thousands. I believe these are condos in a connected building that have been converted to short term rentals. Make sure you confirm the room type when you reserve as there are some interior suites that have no windows.

We enjoyed staying in the king condo suite. It had a fireplace, jacuzzi, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining table and plenty of living room furniture. It was the perfect place to end our day of shopping. Great location with free parking just across the street. There were a few minor cosmetic issues in the room, paint could use a touch up in a few spots and there was some peeling wallpaper in one of the bathrooms.

Really enjoyed staying here. We got an interior room, which was weird at first, but it was very quiet and roomy, so we didn't mind. Pricing was pretty good for canal park in the off season. Haven't seen pricing like this in the area for a very long time.

Wife loved the breakfast that they put on in the morning for free. The hotel is massive and we also got a free drink at a neighboring bar. The place was in pretty good shape, you can tell parts of it are pretty old. Pretty clean, would stay here again.

A great find! The location alone makes this place worth it, but the building itself is amazing. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is extremely comfortable and despite not having time to check out the pool, I am very appreciative of them having "adult" hours from 10pm-11pm. The only issue I had was with the ice machine - it does not make enough ice. Overall, this is a great place to stay! I would love to stay again.

Great location for a hotel. The service is fantastic, anything that we needed was always delivered to us in a timely fashion. The interior is a little outdated, but suitable. The continental breakfast is comparable to other hotel breakfasts. The hallway coming into the hotel is a little smelly, probably from the brewery nearby. It’s a fine place to sleep and hang out in, and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Duluth who wants a place that is central and convenient.

We love the Suites, it feels like home. Great staff, clean, and interesting architecture. We've stayed in several different rooms and they are all have their own set-up/style. The pool area is awesome. It's fun to swim in what must have once been a garage!

Very friendly staff. They did their best to make our stay as accommodating as possible. Asked about the pool lifts and they had those uncovered and working as soon as I asked. The room was spacious and comfortable with enough room to move around in a power wheelchair. Bathrooms didn't have room for wheelchair but also didnt request a room that was accessible. Breakfast was great, had French toast, sausage, eggs, hash browns, waffle makers, cereal, etc.

I don’t get the hate of some of the other reviews. Maybe they are on the 3rd floor, it did smell a little weird when I went to get ice. My room on the 4th floor is great! Wifi is super fast and the room was clean. I also love that they didn’t hide the bones of the building.
