Duluth Shipping Pier

Without a doubt you have to make a stop at the pier to see the ships and the Aerial Lift Bridge. It’s the best place to take photos in Duluth!

This is one of the most beautiful public spaces in America and a person favorite spot that I've visited countless times throughout my life. There is absolutely nothing like watching the huge ships coming into or out of port; passing under the iconic aerial lift bridge. The sights and sounds get me every time.

Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this bridge rise up and lower down each time a boat past through. Learning a little bit about the history and it still remain today is an amazing. Also, it is a great place to get kool photos as well when the sun hit right.

Always got to stop and look over the water whenever you are in Duluth! (Warmer weather activity)

OK so we aren't the smartest people in the world to venture down to the Duluth Shipping Pier on a cold, snowy and very icy afternoon but since we aren't in Duluth that often we had to venture there. We just happen to catch a large vessel coming in to the harbor. Presenting a great photo opportunity.

Check this place out. It is worth the time, and it is very enjoyable to go walking around and see stuff! Five stars!

You can’t come to Duluth without stopping here. Yes it gets extremely busy during the nice summer days but it’s always enjoyable. During our recent visit the lakeside walkway was all tore of and being rebuilt but that’s only going to make this place even better once complete.

We’ve walked on the ice around it, rented pedal cars, watched 1,000 plus foot freighters, enjoyed the lift bridge, ate ice cream and strolled, sat on warm summer days and nights on the pier wall and have made it a part of our family’s lives as long as we all can remember. Growing up in WI and living in the Twin Cities for years, it’s one of our favorite go to places.

Great place to walk and take pictures of the lake and lift bridge. Also can sit on a bench and watch ships big and small come and go.

Always a fun visit. Love the different groups of people and live musicians is always a plus
