Ryan and Satellite Wedding Films gave us the most perfect wedding video! Ryan is fantastic to work with throughout the entire planning process and on the day of. It was clear from the first meeting that he wants to make the best video for his clients based on their wants and needs. On the day of, Ryan was on time, professional and constantly working to get the best shots all day. He made sure to grab us for some extra shots that he knew we would really like and he was right! We supplied the music we wanted and he worked the songs into the video perfectly, we didn't have any changes we wanted after seeing it the first time! And the turn around time was less than 2 months, way ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Satellite Weddings, they were one of the best vendors we worked with!

Ryan was incredible to work with and my wife and I simply can't recommend Satellite Wedding Films enough! We wanted a non-cheesy wedding film that would capture all the moments at our wedding that wouldn't be possible in photos and the film Ryan made completely exceeded all of our expectations! We've received so many complements on our wedding film. A lot of our family and friends told us they cried (happy tears) watching it. It was the best day of our lives and Ryan captured every moment and all the emotions perfectly. Satellite Wedding Films filmed our wedding at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum in July 2012. All I can say is amazing!

Ryan was the perfect videographer on the big day. He was with us the entire time catching all those special moments, yet was out of sight. We didn't even realize he captured some of the great candid moments until we saw the video! Using both Super 8 and digital mediums.

We are beyond happy with the finished product. Ryan's ability to weave together the bits and pieces of the day into a story that represents who we are as a couple is really special. The flow is great, his choice in music perfect and the length is just right! He captured everything we want to remember and it's done so well it's like watching a movie instead of a "wedding video".

Working with Ryan was absolutely seemless from our first meeting to the delivery of our wedding video! During our wedding day Ryan fit right in with our wedding party and family and made the day of filming so easy. Ryan and his assistant both shot gorgeous video of the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and reception and the quality was superb! We hired Ryan to make our day of wedding video just a few weeks before our wedding, and it was the BEST decision we made. He was so kind, easy to work with, and truly captured the magic of our day. I have been in weddings where the videographer is so in your face and has you “recreate” moments for the camera. Our experience wasn’t like that at all… most of the time we didn’t even notice Ryan was in the room (in a good way). Our video was sent to us within 2 weeks, which is almost unheard of, and we loved the first edit so much we had zero suggestions. It’s been 7 months since our wedding, and we still watch our video ALL the time. Also, my mom shows it to EVERYONE she knows and meets, and it makes people cry happy tears (even those that don’t really know us). He truly is GREAT at what he does. We weren't sure if we wanted to use a videographer for the wedding. When we did a little research, we decided we did want a video of our wedding but something different than what we saw on every wedding blog. We wanted a video that would be a recording as our first home video, not a highly edited, set to music movie. After hiring our photographer, he recommended Ryan of Satellite Wedding Films.

I am SO glad we found Ryan. While Ryan does do the wedding videos that are set to music, he was willing to work with me to film our wedding the way I wanted. Not only did Ryan capture every special moment of our day, he used the best equipment- and it shows. When my husband and I watched our wedding video, it felt like we were back at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum with our friends and family.

After our wedding, we realized there were a lot of little things that we spent money on that didn't really matter. However, our wedding video was not one of them. While originally I didn't want a wedding video because of the kinds I had seen on Facebook- set to some kind of Rascal Flatts song- Ryan created the PERFECT video for us.

Ryan Pettey was an absolutely down to earth (not stuffy like some out there), incredibly talented and creative director with an imaginative eye for creating what would be a beautiful and fun wedding video that we would remember for the rest of our lives. We were so fortunate to find Ryan in our search for the perfect wedding videographer for our Bel Air wedding this past June! I searched long and hard for an artistic, cinematic style that didn't feel cheesy, as so many filming companies can. What I liked about Ryan is that he was genuinely kind and excited about working with us. I also loved his simple, straight forward approach to pricing / packages. There are so many things to consider when booking a videographer, aside from the actual style. Some companies will really try to cut corners or charge more for additional "tiers" of filming.

Not Ryan. He included all of the important pieces that we wanted - a full-length trailer, a shorter trailer for blogs, the full ceremony, and every single one of the speeches. The day goes by so fast and it was absolutely invaluable to be able to re-live it. Every time I watch the videos, I see something new. He captured so many beautiful moments, listened attentively to all of our requests (musical and otherwise) and every person I shared the video with was moved to tears by what he put together.

I can't recommend Ryan enough. He was truly a pleasure to work with. If you're considering cutting corners by not having a videographer, I strongly advise against it - it is worth every penny!!

I have been a wedding coordinator for many years, and it is very important to me to have professional vendors on board who can not only be on time (early!) and do their job (exceed expectations!), but who also work as part of the team (see what is needed at all times!) and have enjoy what they are doing (smile!).

The work speaks for itself, but what you can't see in a video clip is the sincere thoughtfulness that Ryan approaches every event with. He is patient, flexible, responsive, professional, and always gets the shot even though you don't even know he is there. There are two avenues in this review, if you are uncertain about having a wedding video please read on… if you know you want it captured and treasured for years to come please skip down and read why Satellite Weddings is hands down the best. I get it, you’re juggling a budget, venue, and multiple vendors already but the thing is that fancy cake won’t last (and barely gets eaten) and the custom parting gifts will most likely end up at Goodwill. What won’t be forgotten is your wedding day because you have a video capturing every sweet and funny moment. I tried my best to absorb every detail that day, every word in the ceremony and every joke in the speeches… and you just can’t do it. Everyone says "it will go by in a flash" and it does… no matter how much you try to live in the moment please realize this is an investment in capturing and continually enjoying one of the biggest days of your life. As of right now, my wife and I haven’t printed a single photo from our wedding day and only posted five or six shots online… maybe it’s because we are overwhelmed with all of the photos… but honestly I think it has to do with how truly amazing our wedding video is. They boiled down the whole day into a twelve-minute video that captures every highlight and we love it so much we watch it a few times a week. Satellite Weddings included the long form of the ceremony, speeches, etc but the highlight video is absolutely gorgeous. Once the first few notes of the intro song play we are transported back to that day, those feelings, that community, that outward display of our lives coming together. Trust me, cut the limo service, those live edge table rentals, the ice sculpture, etc. and have a wedding video you can share with your kids someday.

Why Ryan at Satellite Weddings? We planned our entire wedding, twice actually because of COVID, and one of the constants was having Ryan be our videographer. I originally saw Ryan's work published on Vogue.com and I just knew he would capture our wedding day with the same beautiful style and timeless aesthetic. Throughout the entire process: communication, booking, day-of, editing, delivery… everything was professional and timely. There were certain things I really wanted: drone footage of the venue, a sparkler sendoff, etc and Ryan nailed it with ease. He knows the shots he needs and will kindly provide direction to the couple but he also secretly captured a time-lapse at the reception and it looks stunning! Ryan will show up on time and get right to work, silently capturing everything to create a stunning record of your day. He is working with so much: a stressed-out couple, weather, lighting, equipment, a new venue, or multiple locations, and none of it fazes him. He was by far the best vendor to work with. He is laid back, honest, upfront, and will make the whole process as smooth as possible. So much so that we also asked him to create a slide show video to display during our reception. He can do it all!

Ryan is phenomenal! I cannot recommend him highly enough. The day of the wedding he was incredibly discreet, so that we barely noticed him at all, but he captured every moment beautifully. We treasure the video he made for us, and feel incredibly lucky to have had him as our videographer.
