Bit O'Denmark Restaurant

My husband and I visited Solvang for a weekend get-away from LA. We loved the holiday vibes in this small town and this restaurant was one of the highlights. We dined in on a Saturday night mid December and were so glad we made a reservation ahead of time. Wait time for walk-in's was >1.5 hours!

We were seated right away and service was a bit slow but pretty good. We sit out on the patio (covered and heated), which we loved. I had Flaeskesteg, and my husband and I shared the artichoke dip. Both were absolutely amazing and perfect. Even the red cabbage and picked cucumber that came on the side were done to perfection.
The price was more on the pricier end (even for me -- I live in downtown LA and am used to seeing ridiculous food prices). I'd still say it was worth it! I really wanted to try a Danish dish for dinner and am glad we tried Bit O'Denmark!

Hands down some of the best food 😋. This cute little town offers a variety of Danish eats, but we stopped here and found some of the best. Service was great, prices were reasonable, food was top notch. Artichoke dip was to die for. I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and tried some of the hubby's sausage and meatball entree. 5 stars all around.

Update: First, let me say that the Buffet hasn't been offered since before COVID. Some reviews (fake?) Say that it is still open, but it is not, we even asked the waiter, he says it has been years since it was offered. That being said, the food is still delicious. I tried the charcuterie board this time and it was awesome. Nice selection of fruit, at least 8 types of cheese, plus some nice meat, crackers and bread. The atmosphere is a little sterile, but we do like stopping here.

Very friendly staff, and excellent selections. My wife said that the curried herring was the best herring she had ever had. She got the sampler but with all 3 choices being the curried herring.

Absolutely wonderful. Service was impeccable. The lemon drop martini was perfection. My wife had the House Special roast pork stuffed with a prunes, brown sauce and apple sauce and I had the Wienerschnitzel that was just amazing. Very tender and prepared perfectly.

Awesome service. Angel was great. Beers were some of the best I have had since my trip to Europe. Food was tasty and decently priced for a touristy town. We had a cup of onion soup with a charcuterie board. My friends had the prime rib sandwich and pasta, everyone was very happy with their meals. Our server was super friendly. The restaurant was very clean. Would recommend

Amazing food! We started out with the Danish Herring appetizer with the three sauces, wow! Absolutely amazing! For main course my wife ordered the salmon and I got the rack of lamb. You won't go wrong here. We went during a weekday early evening and we sat out on the back patio.

The food was very tasty and presentation very appetizing. The host was very attentive and knowledgeable in his Danish cuisine and our meals including desserts were delicious. The decor and ambience were just as inviting. We’re so happy we went!

This restaurant was so cozy. We spent our Christmas Eve in this restaurant and enjoyed a lot.

Place for a date or nice dinner with relaxing music. You must try the Artichoke dip. My husband had the Fiske Fillet Cod, it was delicious. They have a variety of wines.

We were here on new year’s eve; we enjoyed the food here and my favorite was Chicken Marsala. Great service despite being crowded.

Highly recommend! Place was nice inside and had quiet jazz playing in the background. Went on a Friday night and it wasn't busy. Waiters were friendly and attentive, but the food was absolutely the best part! Husband got the red pepper chicken pasta and I ordered the 1/2 a roast duck with scalloped potatoes and a watermelon mojito. We shared a side of the meatballs (Frikadellers) and they were also delicious! Best meal I've had in a while. Half a star off for the dead flies in the windowsill, that was a little bit of a turn off.

delicious traditional open faced gravlax sandwich on pumpernickel and a second sandwich of sliced meatballs. Both came with lightly pickled thinly sliced red cabbage, a small serving of excellent potato salad, and other garnishes. AND they have a sizable semi-outdoors, well heated patio.

Wow! Amazing food and atmosphere! The Sweet Potato fries are the best in the country! The menu is filled with amazing food! I've personally been to Denmark and this place is a vibe! Our server Victor was amazing find his section and be prepared for a one of a kind, once of a life time experience in Denmark!

We went here for our Anniversary dinner and had a lovely time. The service was great and the food was top notch! We would definitely eat here again if we ever visit Solvang in the future!

The herring appetizer was the bomb.com! The Bit O’ Burger was really good as well! The Monte Cristo was good, but probably more for breakfast than dinner. The clam chowder and mixed greens was really good as well! Overall great experience

When you stay in a little Danish town you must eat Danish food at least once. I had roast pork stuffed with prunes and Melinda had duck. Red cabbage, cucumber salad, apples, and potatoes. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. My only regret was that I didn't have room for pickled herring.

We had dinner on Friday night. There was no wait and the authentic danish fair was very good. We got the house fave stuffed pork and frikadeli sandwich. Service was cordial and the French baguette complimentary appetizer was unexpected and great.

This place has very delicious food that will not disappoint. The artichoke dip was absolutely perfect 😋 👌 🙌 😀 👏

What a great experience it was to visit Bit O' Denmark Restaurant in Solvang. Victor and the staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive to our needs and customers who were having dinner and enjoying some drinks. The food was amazing and so were the drinks. The music playing in the background made it even more of a greater experience. I highly recommend this place if your ever visiting Solvang. Thank you Bit O' Denmark 🇩🇰 Restaurant.

Nice service and delicious food. If you're up for less reserved dining experience be sure to check out the patio. The inside dining is a bit more romantic. Either way, great place for beer and a bite
