Black Hills Vinyl, let me tell ya, they sell cool things that spin. I'm not into vinyl myself, BUT! I've become an avid disc golfer and Vinyl has such a good selection of discs. It's organized, by brand, speed, and in my experience always has the newest releases as well. I always leave with another cool disc or two...or 5. And if you think their selection of discs is large, you should see all the vinyl 😉 The shop has a great vibe, and has great staff. They've always been friendly and accommodating. I think it's also worth mentioning how cool it is that they also support the local disc golf scene in general with tournaments, prizing, etc. They support local hobbies, and we should support them as locals too. Do yourself a favor, head on down and buy something that spins. 👍 5/5

I was in Rapid City for a week hiking Custer State park and other places. I decided to visit Black Hills Vinyl during a 'down day' and found it to be excellent! Not only was the young lady running the place knowledgeable and pleasant they had a great selection of records. I travel a lot and have visited stores in Atlanta, Austin, Indy, you name it. For a fairly small town - and one way out west - I was surprised! I bought a new re-issue of a Thelonious Monk, Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs "Sugar Shack" in almost near mint, an UNOPENED Erroll Garner's "The Elf - the Savoy Sessions" - a 1976 release, an old Flip Wilson comedy album, and the digitally remastered Erroll Garner's "Concert by the Sea" - and got a nice discount. The Monk album was pretty expensive - but it was "Solo Monk" - unopened - a true Jazz Classic. Great store!

Very nice selection of vinyls, cds, cassettes and more. Really enjoyed walking around and looking at everything.

Excellent place! Found a gem of a disc golf disc when I went in this last time. Amazing staff and owners. Seriously, my go to place! One of the few "must stop" at places down town. They also participate in DD's buy back program. That's a game changer for me. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent customer service! I arrived 10 minutes before close and they gave me a extremely polite notice they would be closing at 6 pm. I highly recommend this record store. Great vibes, smiling faces, with the extremely rare ability to remain polite as they inform you they are closing. I highly recommend this store too anyone looking to add vinyl records too their collection at a great price. Excellent rapidly changing selection!!!

This is the place you go for good music in downtown Rapid City. They hosted a bunch of the best live shows, always welcome me with open arms, always help order in the records my mom’s searching for, and never fails to have what I’m searching for in the bins. This record store is so welcoming! The atmosphere is relaxed and they always have good music playing. I've found some great records just by flipping through what they have. The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any questions! They even ordered a vinyl for me and let me know when it arrived! Their pricing is great... it even beats most online prices. Every time I stop in, it is a fantastic experience!

Very cool, local REAL record store! Great to flip through the records, listen to something playing in the store that I have never heard, and celebrating the joy of buying an album!

Stopped in while on vacation from Wisconsin and I have to say I love this store! Friendly staff, great selection and epic used record prices! I just wish my back wasn't bothering me while I was in, I would have bought a lot more records. And my $3 records play good as new. Thanks for the awesome experience!
