I rarely give 5-star ratings, but this bistro absolutely deserves it. The food was fantastic, seamlessly blending modern culinary styles with a delightful southern twist in every dish. Each bite offered a burst of fresh flavors, making it an exploration of culinary delights. The attentive and friendly wait staff ensured our glasses were never empty, and our entrees arrived promptly after finishing the appetizers. The warm atmosphere and exceptional service made me feel right at home. Additionally, the breathtaking view of distant mountains added a Hallmark-like charm. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of a mood lift.

Wow. This was such a treat. We were going down a few exits just trying to find something other than fast food on our way back from a funeral in NC to TN. We stumbled on this adorable town and chose this restaurant. The crab cakes are full of meat. The country fried steak was exceptional. Best I’ve ever had. And those green beans and potatoes. Just wow. We will find an excuse to come back here!

We made a last minute decision to go out to dinner on Friday night and, since our rescue dog has separation anxiety and we didn’t have a dog sitter, we had to find a place that was dog friendly. We chose Black Mountain Bistro. We’ve lived in the area for over four years and we’ve eaten in Black Mountain numerous times, but we’d never tried Black Mountain Bistro before. Now that we have, we’re kicking ourselves for having waited so long to try it. We really enjoyed it and I can assure that it won’t be four years before we go back.

The weather on Friday was spectacular … a high of 78 and about 72 by dinner time … and perfect for an evening of outdoor dining. The patio at the Bistro is an excellent venue. You sit beneath a canopy of white oaks that block the sun and you’re far enough away from the road to where road noise isn’t an issue. The service rates an A+. The hostess said it would be a 15-20 minute wait, which was spot on. She walked us to our table and then stayed for a few minutes to dote on Maggie, our dog. Our server … Kelsey … was prompt and pleasant, and she too was a dog lover. She took great care of all three of us.

We had the home made pimento cheese appetizer … hey, it’s the south and we love our pimento cheese. It was a very generous portion and we ended up bringing half of it home. Then, we both had Caesar salads that were the perfect size. My wife had a veggie flatbread and I had the spinach arugula rice bowl with grilled chicken. The food was really good. It wasn’t the ultra fancy high-end/high-dollar fusion cuisine you can find at many places around here, but it was delicious and very reasonably priced. I don’t know many places where you can enjoy a nice sit-down dinner with a couple of drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees for $75 (exclusive of tip).

A family from Florida with three children in the 5 to 10 year age range were at the table next to us, so Maggie got a lot of petting and kisses from all three of the kids when they left. Some other guests stopped at our table over the course of the evening to pet Maggie and to talk about their own dogs. To be honest, I think Maggie enjoyed the evening as much as we did.

So, good food, reasonable price, great atmosphere, and a bunch of friendly people … I don’t know what more you could ask for a Friday night meal. We’ll be back at Black Mountain Bistro soon!

Came for lunch after a day at the Biltmore grounds. Lovely outside patio. Brought both pets. Both entrees were delicious and the fried green tomatoes with the little potato croquette was a great starter. The staff was so friendly. Another gem of Black Mountain.

Located in the charming town of Black Mountain right by the visitor center. Some limited parking on property but more than enough next door at the center. This place just revamped there menu and they haves beautiful outdoor patio and covered deck. Limited seating inside for those rainy or colder days so it may be worth getting early to ensure a shorter wait. In general though excellent food and staff all the way around. Cheers!

We stopped by here on the way to asheville and were really glad that we did. I had the rib eye and my girlfriend had the filet mignon, everything was cooked to perfection and the cocktails were really well made! We sat in the outdoor area and didn't step inside but I imagine the interior was just as pleasant as the outside. If you're tryna take your partner somewhere nice and you're in the black mountain area, this is the spot yall!

Delicious, generous servings. Fried food was very well handled (not just dumped in dirty oil, but really done with skill). Seasonings were all very nice. Salads were very filling. Menu all looked delicious. Tough to pick! Engaging interior and regional artwork/photographs on the walls. Fun place to be, great value for the price. Smiling and skilled service.

Stopped in for lunch after a hike and ate on the patio. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere sitting outside looking at the mountains was beautiful. We will absolutely be back!

There are not enough good things we can say about our evening at Black Mountain Bistro. We had a wedding dinner of 22 and the staff made it feel like a true wedding reception venue. The food was (and is always ) exceptional and the service was amazing. They more than surpassed our expectations and the night was truly special.

What an excellent lunch and dinner venue. A group of four girls away for a restful weekend found this cozy and beautiful place. I would drive from out of state just to eat dinner here. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was sweet. So sweet, we not only ate there for lunch, later that evening we called and ordered take out for dinner. We had the crab cakes and the chicken and pastry. Yumm!!!! Such a hug to my mouth. My other friend got the chicken wings. We all shared. This is one of the best restaurant exploring have ever had. I’ll be back for sure.

Outstanding place to eat! Everything was great! Food, server (Will) and atmosphere! Parking is tricky and it was packed after 5 pm, but easily 5 stars otherwise.

I went two days in a row while on vacation with my son and dog. The food was amazing as well as the both of the servers we had on both days. We went to a a couple other restaurants in the area and were not impressed. Actually, to be honest highly dissatisfied. I highly recommended the 🥩

We came here for my birthday dinner this evening. I would definitely recommend making reservations but our wait wasn’t terrible. The outside seating area is fantastic. We ordered the filet mignon and the blackberry pork chop. My steak was cooked to perfection. The sides were to die for. Reasonably priced in my opinion. All the food/drinks/desserts being walked to other tables looked just as good. Service was superb. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Black Mountain.

The fried green tomatoes are the bomb dot com. Also, I recommend a side order of their mac n cheese.

I had the klucking Kylie, new sandwich on the menu with fried chicken, grilled sourdough, honey mustard, and some grilled onions. This was the right bite of delight I was looking for today. The sourdough was crisped up nice and the chicken was fried to perfection. The outdoor seating is really nice, the staff was all friendly and smiling. Busy but did not feel crowded. This was memorial day weekend so I expected it to busy. Only thing was the Cole slaw was a bit bland, just tasted like Mayo. I prefer a little more Zang and tang, added a little salt and peppa and it was better.
