Konnichiwa

Food tasted very fresh and tasty. Chicken was cooked perfectly while the steak was well done (maybe you can specify?). Everything was nice seasoned. The dumplings were amazing. We were just visiting the town for the weekend but would definitely return. Great value too.

Best Japanese restaurant I've tried in a while. Create your own dish with choice of meat, rice and vegetable (the hibachi-style shaved steak on fried rice with zucchini was excellent!). Multiple options to choose from on the "street food" menu. Choose from hundreds of different flavor combinations of tea with either a milk (using a black tea milk powder) or fruit (using a green tea powder) base, and over two dozen different flavors of Monin (high quality) syrup and tapioca balls (aka, "Bubbles"). Prices are decent, quality is superb and service is friendly (but not very fast as it took over 20 minutes for our food to be prepared, though it was worth the wait).

Delicious. Highly recommend. We ordered the salmon and steak teriyaki’s, we enjoyed them both a lot. Very pleasant experience. Props for the Super Mario decor.

This place is doing it RIGHT. Fresh sauces and quality products coming out of the kitchen. The bubble teas are amazing too! A MUST TRY if you're in the area!

I just come from Dinner at Konnichiwa, and I am in love with the food. While there was a wait due to the amount of people there, the food was great! I had some of the best pieces of steak I've ever had in Japanese style cuisine and the fried rice was great. The bubble tea was delicious, though they were out of a few flavors. While it is clear that Konnichiwa just opened and they are still working out their workflow, I look forward to going back, trying more of the menu, and taking more of my family there.

I was excited when I found out about this place from driving by when I'd go to town. When they opened up, it was clear they had a bit of growing pains (occasional shut-downs due to running out of food, wait times) but the food was good, the bubble tea is fun and interesting, and the cashier remembered me by name on my second time coming in showing potential for great customer service. One complaint I have is I wish the yakitori would have been a bigger portion due to price, but the flavor was incredible. In time, I have a feeling they will catch their stride and be able to operate more quickly and smoothly. 5 stars due to potential. Keep it up!

I honestly wish this was somewhere else other than black mountain. Not because the scenery is anything less than stunning, but because service and food was actually BEYOND incredible. This restaurant could easily be making a killing in a big city, but it’s quaint modesty is admirable in the most affectionate way. So glad we flipped a coin and landed on this place. Must visit for authentic tasting and quality Japanese food.

Absolutely amazing food, the portions was well worth the price, the service was amazing, and finally, the taste was DELICIOUS! Very friendly staff and the owner goes out of his way to make sure the meal is top notch and that it’s enjoyable. They are in the process of getting sushi in house as well. Small but satisfactory selection of beer if that’s your thing. And not to mention a very very very clean establishment. I will be frequenting this place alot more now I know where it’s at! HIGHLY suggest this place!

The food is always great and the employees and service they provide is great as well. They go above and beyond. I ordered lunch at 12 one afternoon and got busy with an emergency at work, called around 1:30 to let them know that I didn't forget and would be there around 2:30ish. They were very nice (as always) I got there to get my food, they had made it fresh for me so that I didn't have to eat a cold lunch, without my asking!! Made my entire day! I highly recommend Konnichiwa for great food, service with a smile and great prices!

I have been anxious to try this out. Japanese food is prob my favorite food. I thought I would give it a few weeks so they could work out the kinks. I ordered take out today for lunch and it was ready upon arrival. The food is great! It exceeded expectations and I will definitely be back as a repeat customer.

Excellent service on our order. The Yakisoba bowl was delicious. Food was cooked fresh and they accommodated my request to replace the pork with chicken. Will definitely eat there as often as possible.

Sooooo yummy!! I grew up on my Japanese grandma's cooking so I have pretty high expectations for Japanese food! I'm so glad I didn't happen to see some of these reviews before stopping in today. I went between lunch and dinner hours so there was no wait and excellent service. But what was most exciting was how delicious and flavorful the food was! I ordered hibachi steak with mixed vegetables, yakisoba, and bubble tea. The veggies in the hibachi were so delicious and there was so much steak! The steak was tender and juicy and excellent flavor! I didn't expect to be able to eat it all(2 entrees!), but I wouldn't have been able to finish just 1 entree as there was alot of food! I can't wait for leftovers tomorrow! I'll be back and can't wait to try more food!

Excellent overall experience. Kind, courteous, helpful staff. Enticing menu. Food is freshly prepared, delicious and beautifully presented.
The Yakisoba bowl is a must try. Also, the sumo rice, so worth the minimal up charge.
Restaurant and restrooms notably clean. Konnichiwa has become our new favorite in Black Mountain.

Great little restaurant. They provide good socially distanced seating and they have boba tea which is impossible to get anymore in the area. I had the poke bowl and it was a good amount of food for me but they're japanese portion sizes (which I like but if you're used to big american sized dishes just something to be aware of) and the yakitori skewers were nice too.

The atmosphere is cute with game motifs painted on the walls.

I hope they branch into some fan favorites like melon pan and dango in the future, they've got a nice, simple menu right now.

I have enjoyed every dish served. It taste fresh and homemade. When you get comfortable with the ordering process and accept that good food takes more than 5 minutes to make, you may like their food. Best Egg Roll ever!!! I appreciate your food and thank you!

Great little place for Japanese street food. The staff and owners were pleasant and accommodating. The food was delicious...you must try the Gyoza...wow! The bubble tea is refreshing (I recommend the peach tea with mango bubbles). Although I also discovered I personally am not a fan of the jelly bubbles in the milk tea. The steak and chicken were both a higher quality than you find at most Asian restaurants. Overall, I highly recommend you check this little restaurant out if you live near the Black Mountain/Asheville area. It is worth the time and drive.

Placed an online order for hibachi chicken, received an email that it would be ready in about 10 minutes. It was ready to go right on time. Good food with sizable portions — even had enough for leftovers the next day. I’d recommend Konnichiwa.

We have had several tasty meals from here. The food is fresh and tastes great! You can tell they put a lot of effort into making the food look and taste good. Great staff that works hard and is very friendly. It’s a great little place to check out in Black Mountain!

This was our first visit. Food was awesome! We had sushi, and different chicken and steak selections (there were 6 adults). Everyone loved their food. Staff was courteous. Will be back!
