Love this bookstore/coffee shop/gift shop! They have so much in their cute little shop. Great place to shop for cute unique gifts. The coffee was great as well

The perfect mix of books, crafts, & charm. This shop was a darling delight in a charming mountain town. Book lovers must. Candles, knick knacks, gifts galore... it has everything. It even has a little charming garden area. Amazing prices too.

Went there for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! Best book store I’ve ever been in! The vibe was chill and relaxed. The coffee was good not my favorite but it was still good. I ended up buying 7 books and I’ll be back soon for more! Love this place!! 12/10

Great store! I loved the bookstore on the first floor and the kids section/games/puzzles on the second floor was a hit with my little one. Didn't get to try the coffee but there was a line so I'm guessing it's great! Loved the selection - loved the puzzles selection! Also, two doors- steps inside but if you can't do steps, walk up the hill outside so you can get to the second story.

I could have stayed in this store all day! Such unique book related gifts and accessories. I got a literary places puzzle and some stickers. I hope to come back again someday!

This local book and game store has a surprisingly great selection. I love visiting local bookstores and this one is a nice one. They have a coffee and drinks shop inside as well as many comfy arm chairs to sit and read in. I bought a few new books here and definitely plan on visiting again in the future. Local bookstores like this are the best!

The absolute sweetest book and children's store! We browse through often and it is our go-to present shop. Kathleen, Debbie and the rest of the team are always so kind, welcoming and helpful!

One of my favorite places to shop anytime I’m in Black Mountain! Two levels of awesomeness where you can find something for everyone! I highly recommend the Southern Lit candles…my personal favorite is the Dadgum scent!

Quaint, fun to explore bookstore. Books are upstairs (kids) and downstairs (adults). Coffee shop downstairs. Couches and fun items to buy are all around. Love just browsing here!

I love this local store! I'm a regular, and it's great to be able to grab a coffee, and read or look at books/toys! The staff is super sweet and helpful. I just wish they were open earlier, or atleast the downstairs coffee bar. Overall, I would 100% recommend!

A great little toy store and kids oriented bookshop upstairs and adult books and trinkets downstairs. Parking on the street or in the garage.

We have been here multiple times and we love it. The upstairs is nice and light, focused around kids and the bottom level is every book lovers dream. It’s dark and cozy with little hidden gems around every corner. Every time we go we see something new. They have a delicious coffee/tea counter in the back that just adds to the atmosphere. We are actually planning on going again today.

Kathleen and the team here are amazing. They know their store in an out and have an incredible assortment of games, toys, books, arts and crafts, plushes (stuffed animals), and coffee. Their level of service is through the roof. When we asked a question to a worker on the lower level, she advised us the person we needed to talk to was upstairs and immediately started to place a call to prevent the burden of us having to walk (which we insisted we do anyways). We are so glad we did because we would have missed all of the fun stuff upstairs.

We stop here every visit to Black Mountain. The toys, puzzles, science and art supplies are unique…great for gifts or when you’re looking for something high quality and different! Friendly staff and the store has a really cool vibe.

Very nice bookstore with a good selection of book, games, and toys with a positive atmosphere. They also have a nice little coffee bar downstairs which serves local coffee and sells coffee beans. I had a positive experience talking to the barista on staff when I visited who gave some good local recommendations for places I had not visited yet.

Simply lovely. You can spend hours here wandering around the incredible finds. And, oh my stars, a child’s dream awaits upstairs! The team at Sassafras on Sutton are delightful! Looking forward to a return visit!

What a gem of a bookstore. Loved the selection and the employees were very friendly. Wish I had tried the coffee.

I've been to this place several times and I love it more every time I go! If you are in Black mountain you have to stop here. Fantastic books and gifts and the coffee bar is awesome!
