Louise's Kitchen

Good spot! I was staying in Black Mountain for the weekend and walked over to Louise’s. There was a short line, you order then you are seated. We sat outside and the weather was wonderful.

The breakfast is good, the big boi burrito very filling and full of flavor. The cinnamon roll came out hot and was excellent!
Across the street is a small mountain apparel store and brewery, cool spot too!

We found this place to be affordable and has good American Food where everyone can find something they like to eat. I had the baked grits and found it to be tasty with Tabasco sauce. Their Guava Mimosa was quite good. The service was good, but a little curt. My partner had an American breakfast. His food was good too.Overall, it is a good brunch place.

The entire experience was great! The sausage is locally sourced and amazing! I added an egg to my order. When I said "over easy", they asked me if I wanted a little runny white or no runny white. Nobody has ever asked me what before. The egg was perfect!

Inside an old two story home, with original rooms largely intact made this place fun to visit; made you feel as if you were sitting in a friend's kitchen! Did was great, servers were so much fun, and the potent champagne peach drinks were served in a pint mason jar.. 😁 My blueberry waffle was served with vanilla bean syrup!😋 Cinnamon roll was delectable... Just like yours get him someone's kitchen🥰

Very friendly staff and great food! I got the pork quesadilla and my husband got the biscuits and gravy, both were yummy! We never lacked for anything as the staff was on point! Come try them out!

This is a cute restaurant with lots of character. My coffee mug said, "Ew...work." you order and pay at the podium and then lots of options for seating. The coffee is very flavorful without being bitter. The burrito was the best one I've ever had. My husband had the traditional and said it was really good. Service waa great. Definitely recommend for a tasty inexpensive breakfast.

Back Story: We were traveling through NC & wanted to stop for a nice brunch someplace along the route. We anticipated having to take a detour into Asheville, but instead found Louise's, not only on I-40, but less than a half mile off the interstate.
I wouldn't be surprised if this place had a line around the building 99% of the time, but our service was superb!
First impressions : Circle the block till you spot someone leaving & steal their parking spot. You order from the hostess stand on the porch, choose your seating & they'll miraculously find ya.
The ambiance : we agreed to sit outside since it's a beautiful spring easter morning. They offered inside, porch or yard seating. I was a tad chilly in the shade, so when I spotted a table under the pergola, & jumped on it. I wish I had peaked inside.
Drinks : We each had a megamosa. Highly recommended. Hubby went traditional with the OJ but I got the mango& pineapple. These came out within a few minutes of us sitting down. Perfect size in a pint mason jar for this occasion.
Food : the big boy burrito looked mighty good but I was feeling some down home biscuits & gravy. Hubs got the burrito & I wish I had. It was a loaded, hardy breakfast burrito with the best sausage we've ever had. It was advertised as Chop Shop sausage out of Asheville. The biscuits & gravy were a little disappointing. The biscuits themselves were incredible, the gravy had a tad too much oregano, maybe another herb, for my taste. It was still a delicious dish, but I wouldn't get it again without a side of sausage to help balance out the seasonings. It was a large helping with 2 biscuits & an ample amount of gravy.
Overall: Worth every star!

We’ve tried to eat here several times in the last two years and been scared of the large crowd. We came in as a party of 10 at 12:50. They were fast and got our orders correct. The wrap around porch was nice! Everything on the menu is great. Breakfast burrito 10/10, Reuben 10/10, pimento cheese grilled sandwich and tomato soup 10/10, pancakes 10/10, trust me it all good!

Ate an early breakfast here the morning of our wedding. We enjoyed a table on the wrap-around deck admiring their flowers and the cloud-nestled mountains in the distance. Food was incredible - I would recommend the cinnamon roll to anybody, that was the highlight for me! Probably the best one I have ever had. Though we do not live here, we have family in the area and will absolutely be back. Can't wait. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast place, don't hesitate. Go EARLY to avoid the rush and enjoy some yummy food, attentive service, and ambiance!

Louise’s is legendary around Lake Lure. It’s a family owned restaurant in a 100 year old mansion. Upon arrival, we learned that you wait in line to place your order and pay. They say this system eliminates wasted time at the table before ordering. It seems to work, because we were seated immediately after ordering on a Sunday afternoon. Our server quickly noticed our wobbly table and firmed it up for us. We ordered the Curry Chicken Salad and Turkey Bacon Cheddar Sandwich. The salad had large pieces of chicken and nicely seasoned. The sandwich was delicious. We will be back to try more menu items.

Absolutely amazing Sunday brunch! We arrived just as they opened at 10:00 and still had to wait in line outside for 30 minutes, so be prepared on chilly mornings. The megamosas are served in mason jars and there are lots of flavors to choose from. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy and I had the Eggs Louise ~ both dishes are wonderful! We will definitely be back the next time we travel through Black Mountain!

We walked up, completed our order and received the friendliest smiles and most helpful crew. Everyone were so welcoming and inviting.

We had waffles, cinnamon role, waffles and French toast and it was all delicious with large servings.

I don’t ever leave reviews, but this place SERIOUSLY deserves one. To start, the experience is a bit different where you order your food at the front and then sit. This gives you the option to leave anytime you’d like! Next, the service is PHENOMENAL. Each server and waitress we encountered seemed genuinely happy and like they enjoyed their job and their community. We had one piece of food that we did not really enjoy, and they swapped out our item no hassle. (Wasn’t their cooking, was our tastebuds). The food is amazing, with a lot of their ingredients and breads locally sourced from around the area. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, pancakes fluffy and sweet, and a variety of delicious syrups to mix (Vanilla bean is awesome!). Their biscuits were flaky and crispy, while soft and moist on the inside. I cannot recommend this place enough!

TLDR: Food is top notch, with great service and amazing views in the porch. If you’re visiting this area Louises is a MUST!!

Delicious some of the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. Breakfast all day! Mimosas were fantastic.

A little chilly standing outside where you order and pay ahead of time. But once inside it's toasty warm with very cheerful attentive service. The food was delicious. We had the Classic and Louise's Cakes- buttermilk pancakes with strawberries. Coffee is very good and my husband loved the local sausage. If you are willing to wait it's definitely a yummy breakfast in a lovely old homeplace.

The line is daunting as you approach but it’s worth the wait
