Black Mountain Pizza & Ale House

So cool to have Detroit Style Pizza in Black Mountain! The pizza was really good (could have been cooked a touch longer to brown up the bottom) and the atmosphere was AWESOME with a Bluegrass band playing for Friday night..

They also have a really nice patio if you are there on a nice day.

We got the pizza tots and they were ok, but would probably not get them again. Nice beer selection, with some local brews.

All in all, great place! Thanks for adding pizza - Black Mountain Ale House!

My family spontaneously stopped in for a pint and some eats! We had pizza (good!), salad (good!), beer (good!) and the Fat Tony sandwich (REALLY GOOD!!!!) There are a couple pinball machines for the kids to play while you wait but with servers like Phillip, you won't wait long!! I strongly recommend this establishment, tucked away in an eatery court with a pet friendly patio. Additionally, might I add that there are some hygiene items in the restrooms... Always appreciated!!

They only have 4.4 stars!!!! WHAAAAAT?! This place deserves a 5.0 star! This place is amazing, the deep dish pizza is amazing, the staff is so enjoyable, and the entertainment is amazing! We are not from this area. We went looking for bbq, got lost and wandered in here. So thankful!

Food is stellar, if you like pizza you'll love it. Menu is pricey but worth it. The service was quite slow but given they reopened 6 days prior to my visit, i wouldn't quite fault them for it. That being said, our server was super sweet and accommodating. We also got three pizzas between 9 of us, and not a slice was left untouched. Pictured is two Chicago style slices.

Holy Kitchen Ale House! Hail to Chef Greg! Your food was outstanding! Thank you mountain gods for saying leave your cabin and wander in the rain. The fried pickles and ranch dressing… best I’ve ever had!!! The ranch is life changing! Even asked for the recipe, although Chef Greg doesn’t measure he shared the ingredients used. Love fried chicken??? Holy tender, juicy and crispy!!! Ya’lll come to Black Mountain… Come to Black Mountain Ale House. Service was outstanding from our sweet girl Karley. Lots of seating… inside and out, local art on walls. Excellent selection of local artisan beers.

First time and it was spectacular! Accidentally dropped one of our pizzas on the ground and walked inside and said we would pay for another, but Murf was leaving for the night and the kitchen was closed, regardless they gave up one of his Tripper Harrison’s to replace our dropped one! Absolutely the best experience, will be back! Phillip had some great recommendations and was very tentative!

My pimento cheese was the best I've had! It was on sliced, toasted sour dough... So yummy! Beers are fab. My waiter, Max, was excellent. He knew his beers and could recommend just what I wanted. He was patient with me having to choose beers and not being acquainted with the menu. I drank 3 different 1/2 pints and all were good. Love this place.

Okay, first: Detroit style pizza. Wha??? Think premium ingredients on perfectly crisped focaccia bread. Amazing! (And this from a girl who spent a decade getting indoctrinated in Chicago.) Second: service. I sat outside, alone, mid-afternoon on a weekday (read: perfect recipe for getting completely ignored). Not only was Phillip attentive, he made stellar recommendations and checked in often (but not obtrusively) to make sure I had everything I needed. Suffice to say I'll be back! With friends! :)

Great! We stopped in here for dinner, got some home brew beers - the Black Mountain Brewing Cosmic Modesty. Good beer! Then we ordered the What’s Up Doc! REALLY GOOD! My favorite part is that they don’t skimp on the toppings. Loaded veggie pizza! 14 inch pizza is perfect for two people Live music too and friendly waitstaff

Stumbled upon this place with the family and I’m so glad we did! Service was quick and super friendly. Food was delicious- recommend the Nashville Hot Brussels, pizza tots, fried mozzarella and Southern Delight and Tripper Harrison pizzas. Great beer and live music made for a perfect evening.

They were slammed but did there best to accommodate everyone. Pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. Staff I friendly, great place!

My wife and I decided to come here while on our honeymoon! It's hands down not only the best pizza we have ever had!! But, the server gave us great info , and really does a great job here! This brick cheese and Valoro sauce is to die for! I live about 2 gours away and will be driving back up to black mtn , just to eat at their pizza and sleep house!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Some of the best pizza I've ever had, get the Detroit style you will not regret it. Excellent service as well. We will be back!

Came in after ziplining to a super friendly & helpful GM working the bar and waiting on tables. Food was fresh & delicious! Great experience!

Lots of beer options on tap and the pizza is good. Options for thin crust and deep dish style.

They have two really nice pinball machines with seating close by — so you could enjoy food and drinks while the kids play (or be a kid again and play).

They have seating outside and inside with a very nice atmosphere — custom artwork on the walls, and a very nice bar.

Delicious restaurant and ale house that surprisingly specializes in fried chicken. Black Mountain Kitchen is in a great location in downtown Black Mountain. They have a nicely sized patio out back that is great on nice days. The menu is unique and delicious with a focus on fried chicken, which doesn't disappoint. Try the fried hot chicken livers if you're feeling adventurous, or a traditional fried bird if you want to play it safe. My only complaint is that their "hot" chicken, despite having amazing flavor, was not spicy at all. The beer menu is extensive as well with some unique offerings.

Just walked in and the bartender was helpful. I asked for a beer recommendation and was not disappointed with the kolsch. The chicken sandwich was on point and so were the wings. I’d come here again.

I visited this place twice as a visitor to the area. It has a great beer selection and awesome food. I recommend getting the macaroni and cheese as a side. It has a delicious smoky flavor and is perfectly paired with the burger!

As we were exploring Black Mountain, we found this spot to eat dinner! We sat outside on the patio with really warm heaters! The service was SPECTACULAR, the beer was great, and the food was yummy! The winning item was the crispy ham sandwich..... It will go on my list of top sandwiches never to be forgotten how good it tasted!
