Pizza Machine Black Mountain

Fantastic pizza! Jay took terrific care of our youth group of 27 middle and high schoolers. He delivered an awesome 40"pizza with 10+ toppings. The pizza was great. His customer service and hospitality were top notch. He went above and beyond for our youth group and we will be returning! Must visit while you're in Black Mountain!

I love coming by here and picking up a pizza. Thin crust and the guys working are polite and engaging. Great experience for us and I come back ever time I am in the area.

This place was fantastic. Ask J what he'd recommend, understand it's a small business and can get packed, and enjoy your food! I'd recommend the skillet pizza: the medium is enough for two people with leftovers, and the cracker crust is so good.

This has to be one of the best thin crust pizzas I've ever had. It's not only thin, it's also crispy and has good flavor. It's hard to find a thin crust that isn't soggy or like cardboard. We got the lovebirds special. It comes with a 4 topping heart shaped pizza, 2 drinks and dessert. It looks like they also show outdoor movies.

Great Pizza and great service and what a cool place. Kids love it. They had some frisbees and badminton. There is a fire pit with chairs for late nights.

We visited weeks ago during a weekend stay in Black Mt. and I'm still thinking about this pizza! The cheese they use is perfect. I love the quality and the amount of toppings they used. The crust was exactly they way I like it and not too flimsy. We tend to visit that area a few times a year and we will definitely be going back to the Pizza Machine!

This place was awesome! The crust was amazing, the ingredients were fresh (Jay, the owner, picked basil from the garden for our pizza while we were sitting there), and the service was awesome. We originally planned on just going for a quick bite, but ended up staying late at The Mill because it was so much fun. So its a great place to get some quick, fresh pizza; but you really should stay a second and get to know everyone. A definite "must-visit" if in Black Mountain!

If I had his number I would message and tell him directly his pizza, wings and sauce are all amazing! So very well done! Amazing crust. He is now in a new location so don’t be surprised when you see his new set up. New pics haven’t been updated yet but the food is still wonderful.

This fun place has awesome pizza! The seating is all open air. The yummy pizza is made fresh to order with high quality ingredients on a funky fun painted school bus behind the natural food store. The last time I was there Back to the Future was being projected onto a huge screen and people had brought lawn chairs. Very chill and kid friendly!

What an unexpectedly awesome stop for some grub. My wife and I were on our honeymoon in the Asheville area and decided to spend a night in Black Mountain. Decided to stop for some pizza here and these guys treated us right! By complete surprise, these dudes literally made us a custom heart pizza to commemorate our honeymoon! It was a personal touch that we can't express enough appreciation for! It was the perfect way to end the last night of our honeymoon. I really wish I knew how to post a pic of the pizza because it was perfect and delicious! I cannot thank these dudes enough for the delicious pizza and how well they treated my wife and I. Hit this place us anytime in the Black Mountain area if you want great pizza! Thanks guys!

The views across the mountains are gorgeous, the building and atmosphere are funky and fun, the staff are some of the friendliest around, and the pizza was pretty darned good.

Loved the fire pit, the large, communal tables, and the feeling of community and trust with the self-serve drinks. While the restaurant is mainly self-serve (except beer), when we told them it was our first visit to The Mill, they made us go sit down and waited on us. Really nice!

Stopped by late night on a Saturday. We were treated with great respect and great service. We got a sixteen inch pizza and twenty wings. I highly recommend both, try the house sauce for the wings!

We ate our food amongst a busy crowd to be One in the morning! They also had the movie labyrinth playing.

This place is awesome. I was surprised when I pulled up that I was about to get my pizza from some dude in a bus, but I was not disappointed. I’m a New Yorker I know my pizza and so does this guy! I happened to order from him on his first night open in the bus- not only did he stay open late to make my pizza, but he gave it to me for $3 because his credit card machine wasn’t working. Seriously good guy! Wish I could repay him for that! Definitely recommend Pizza Machine.

We were headed home from a play in Marion, NC and were starving. It was after 10 pm and everything was closed except this pizza place and the usual fast food dives. The reviews were all good, so we decided to drop in. It was a little complicated to find the parking area, but not so complicated to deter us from going. The owner, Jay greeted us with a big smile. Slow night due to snow storm warnings, so we were the only people in the joint. What a fun, funky, rustic atmosphere, with the kitchen in full view. Giant pizza ovens and antique stove, large wooden bar, big ample booths, unusual artwork all made for a fun night. Jay welcomed us and recommended his take on a deep dish pizza made in a cast iron pan. Watching him work was like watching an artist, he was in his element, he was doing what he was passionate about, he made it all look so easy. The finished product was unlike any other pizza I ever had. The crust was crunchy and yeasty, the cheese was creamy and stretchy, the sauce was tomatoey and thick without being pasty, the meats and veggies were all fresh and crispy. All in all I can't say enough about this place. This man obviously loves what he's doing and it shows in his restaurant which feels like a home. I can't wait to hang out in the Springtime on the rooftop deck and savor an ice cold beer with a hunk of dripping, delicious, scrumptious pizza. The sun shining on my face, good company, great food, life is good....Don't forget to pet his Black Lab, Anchovy and thank Jay for the wonderful experience...

I remember the Mill Wheel restaurant on the hill and enjoyed it. This time we went to the bus. Custom made pizza for 3. We ate it at the Beer garden next door. One day we need to get one of the huge pans. They have lots of plans for other expansions. I look forward to seeing the next wave of additions.

I never thought I would drive up to a big silver bus and have some of the best pizza ever. The pizza in a skillet is delicious, the perfect amount of crust and balance of flavors. J is really nice and welcoming and make sure you meet Anchovy. Go for the pizza and the fun big silver bus vibes.

Charm, great hospitality and one of the best pizza selections I have experienced in quite a while. The local motif is charming and refreshing. The owner is an absolute gracious and Endearing host.

Do not be deceived by the rustic Black Mountain appreance. If you wanted pomp and circumstance stay home and go to A Chain Pizza Eatery. The food is outstanding and the hospitality is superb.

Our group of 6 ranged in aged from 21 to 67 and all had a delightful time and the cuisine was palate pleasing.

Can not wait to go back and experience the ombience of this unique establishment.

It's not easy to find, and it's never crowded, I feel like this spot is still largely undiscovered, a hidden gem. This is Chicago-style pie, and it's legit. I don't generally go nuts for Chicago-style deep dish, but I make an exception for this one. The owner is really cool, there's a fire pit, outdoor seating and dog friendly.
