Potomac-Heritage Trail, VA

Pretty scenic and we loved this trail. Many park of trail are well marked. My dog really enjoy swimming in the river. Hiking during summer may encounter snakes. We saw many times but nothing to worry about just let them pass.

It was awesome, at first we biked then we hiked till the river. Tge water was perfect a d warm. Loved it .

Great fall walk/hike through the woods with my kids. They enjoyed going off the trails.

I run on average 3 to 5 days on this trail. One of our community's treasures. Because of all those great efforts and grass-root activism, the trail carved out and preserved the precious trails from The Trump National Golf. Amen to all those who fought the big not-so-good (meant to write evxx) big power. Especially appreciates the cooler temperature due to tree canopies and shades and the breeze from the Potomac river. Also appreciates very much the restrooms and friendly strollers and runners.

What a wonderful hidden gem! Walked for miles of well keep trails. Friendly people. Delightful day!

This trail is part of a complex of trails that run along, or near, the Potomac River for quite a distance. This section runs through two golf courses. One key piece of advice would be that if it has been rainy, the low lying trail is always extremely muddy. These trails have become even more popular during covid as people have been seeking out more ways to spend quality time outside. I would have called these trails a hidden gem, but probably no longer.

It was so nice to hiking from that place. Kids loved to sea water and fishes from there. Great nature, I had relax time.

Very nice, tranquil tail with views of the Potomac. Bring a map, e.g., Google Maps, because there are several offshoot trails and the markers are not very consistent.

Nice clean park that is very pleasent for a hike. Trails tend to be wide, but muddy.

Always a Fun place to hike or bike... Can cut through and around. Its near Trump, so don't venture out too far. Lol. ;)
