Avis Car Rental

8/3/23: The set up was great. I received my car 🚗 upgrade & was able to skip going inside to the counter. That was less stress. The SUV upgrade, due to my being in the President's Circle, my car upgrade was great. Their staff in the lot were helpful & kind.

We were greeted by a nice African American man early in the morning at the Avis Car Rental office. He was polite & gave us a big smile. He showed us our vehicle. I went back & requested a different vehicle. He went out in the parking lot & selected a much better vehicle, a Toyota 4 runner. I am very happy with the service provided by him at Avis.
We traveled in Maryland, PA & New Jersey, attending 2 weddings, visited old friends & relatives. We had great time & the ride in Toyota 4 runner was very smooth & we felt very safe in this big truck. When we came back to Avis parking lot, the attendant was also nice & and sent us off to the big bus to take us back to the Airport. Thank you, Avis!

The staff, including the lady driver of the shuttle I boarded, and the sales personnel from the pickup location to the drop-off were all very helpful, friendly and professional. I paid the quote I had received online with no hidden fees for extra services. All extra services and fees were well explained and I was able to decline the services I didn't need. My booking was a last minute one, but I was able to get the car I wanted in a very short time, yet at a very fair price. The ride home from Dulles Airport to Chesapeake Virginia was very comfortable and smooth. Thank you Avis!

The Avis Preferred rental experience is the best car rental I’ve ever experienced. No counter, just get off the shuttle near your car and drive away. Return is equally slick. Great job!

Oct 2023: after some hickup with a different rental car company, I booked a car at Avis Dulles Airport lcoation on short notice.
When I arrived on a Saturday afternoon, there was no wait, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and I got a nice car. (It was a bit scratched, but this was no problem upon return.)
I used some e-toll lanes, and automatically was billed fairly after the rental period, no hassle at all.
Overall a surprisingly good experience, wholeheartedly recommended.

I recently rented a car from Avis and the service and the car were great! I drove less than 75 miles, and even though I put gas before returning the car, Avis charged me an EZ Fuel Charge. I complained and the customer service team corrected the charge. Please be aware of the policy as if you drive less than 75 miles, Avis will charge you a fuel fee unless you show the receipt to the agent at the moment of return.

Great service! Loved how I was in and out. Shuttle driver was awesome. Polite and helpful. The counter clerk was a well.
New way of getting out rental, was skeptical at first, but love it as I ended up with a larger vehicle!
I'd like to recommend a sign by posted, either on the shuttle or when we arrive for the new procedure.

The service at Dulles airport was quick and easy. After I dropped the car off at Bradley airport in Windsor Locks I realized I left my cell phone in the car,
The garage staff all tried to locate the car. It happened that one of them found the phone and turned it into the rental desk and I was able to retrieve it. Everyone was so nice. I will not hesitate to use Avis again.

Highly recommend becoming a preferred member.
This allows for you to use the express line and also have your car assigned and waiting for you in the lot! Just get the app for your phone and it give you the location. No waiting in lines, no sprinting off the rental shuttle to get to the front of the line!

Long wait for bus however car was ready, in it's spot, using the app we grabbed the predetermined car and exit4d quickly.
Easy/peasy.
Now - I was quoted around $240 but they hit my cc (a hold) for $400, so if it's not as quoted upon return this review will go from 5 stars to -1 in a hurry!

The people were great! Unflappable and helpful in unexpected circumstances at pick up. Drop off couldn't have been any easier. I pulled in, got my stuff, and got on a waiting shuttle to the terminal. The car itself worked so well and had helpful modern features like adaptive cruise control and side cameras which greatly enhanced my feelings of safety. Can't recommend highly enough. I rented this car over 10 days for both work and pleasure.

The team at Dulles was exceptional. From the super helpful attendant when we checked in (who gave us fashion advise on wearing black to an evening wedding!!) and the bus driver who helped us drop our car when we returned - what a freindly and amazing experience. We will rent from Avis again and again becuase of your team there! Fantastic service!

My final flight home from two weeks on a consultation in Rwanda was cancelled by United Airlines yesterday evening. After 3 hours waiting on their customer service line, we were told the next option would be for another 24 hours. My colleague and I decided to rent a car and drive home from Washington DC to Massachusetts.

We were told by all the the other car rental agencies that they didn't have any cars, especially for one way rentals. When we got to Avis late last night, we were greeted by a long line of frustrated people from several canceled flights, and a single Avis representative named Mandy whose kindness and professionalism helped everyone relax and transformed the room into a cooperative community where people chatted together and organized shared rides to common destinations. Together with a man who tirelessly and with good humor brought cars outside the office, they provided quality customer service under difficult conditions.

There is nothing worse than having the wrong date for your booking after you land from a 16 hours flight. Kathy at this VERY BUSY location was able to work a miracle and fix my mistakes and put me in a better car. She's an asset and I hope the company acknowledge her.

Smooth-Easy—Hassle FREE! Although my car was ready via the app, only requiring me to walk to its parking location, load my bags and drive off to my destination, I checked at the counter for some additional requests. I was greeted and serviced by Michael Mwamba! Michael was very professional, eager to assist and helped me get in my way with a smile on my face! Thanks again for putting “Service” back into Customer Service! You da man, Mike!

Absolutely brilliant service, great car, not a care in the world. Would recommend Avis at Dulles Airport to anyone. Thanks for giving me one less thing to worry about (ie. transportation).

If you’re renting a car from this location and Amir is working - wait till he’s available. He was the only reason I had a good experience. He dropped everything to help even when other teammates dropped the ball. In an industry where status quo and incompetence typically reigns, Amir defied those expectations.

Easy check-in and check out. Very friendly staff, and clean car. I really didn't like the Jeep Wrangler as an (intermediate) car. Was weird being start/stop vehicle that big, but that's not the fault of Avis. They were great.

Folks working here deserve a medal - always with a smile, no matter what time it is and always with the best attitude possible. Best Customer Experience ever. Keep it up!
